On our first visit I had eggs over easy, liver mush,rye toast,hash browns and ice tea. My wife had eggs over easy, biscuit, gyro meat, hash browns and ice tea. Everything was perfect. Our waitress Kayla explained to me that the liver mush was locally made and it was delicious! My wife said the gyro meat was authentic and I tried some and it was great. This is also the first time in a loooong Time that my hash browns were cooked correctly. Brown and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Kayla (our waitress ) was super nice and we found out that she lives near us! The cook was a pro and even said good bye when we left. I highly recommend Bessie's and look forward to our next meal there!

Their tables are set with just a fork in a sanitary bag so you have to ask for a knife and a spoon for coffee. Also butter does not come with your biscuit/toast either. You have to ask for it. Speaking of toast, it's not even toasted. I think it's thrown on the cooktop and barely warmed. It's the little things that should be expected of a restaurant that I have complaints about.

The home fries seemed undercooked but I was able to eat a few. Nothing really special about them, just seemed like a potato chopped up and pushed around in grease. I did like the jam/jelly selection, nicely done. Some may wonder why I didn't complain or send this back. I had an appointment down the road and wouldn't have made that considering the initial order took 12 minutes from payment to plate landing on the table, so a re-do would've been??? no idea how long. Sometimes it's better to just tough it out. It wasn't busy, there was no line to order, about 6-8 patrons total in the restaurant. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide.
