Nice selection of ice cream, chocolate treats, kettle corn, and candies from this franchise chain based in Petoskey, MI. We bought single scoops on cones to eat while we walked around this very cute town, and a baggie of dark chocolate covered almonds for later. Our traveling companions swear by the fudge. read more

Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge - Fudge chocolate in a cake cone - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Black Mountain, North Carolina

Really great store with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Dave helped me find some great Vegan dark chocolate and explained to us what exactly Dubai chocolate was and gave my non Vegan partner a free sample. You should check this place out! read more

We were checking out the downtown area of Black Mountain by foot and saw they have a Kilwins. We are familiar with Kilwins since we live in the Triad, we also recently went to the Wilmington location and their ice cream and waffle cones are delicious. My wife chose the chocolate peanut butter and sea salt chocolate caramel on a crisp waffle cone. Delicious as usual and the employees were friendly and helpful. In addition to ice cream they also offer chocolate and fudge by the piece or you can choose from prepackaged chocolate items as well. If you are craving something sweet, Kilwins is a great stop! read more

In case you haven't noticed- John loves ice cream, which means- I get ice cream too (sometimes and sometimes I just steal some of his!). This day we had a late and light lunch and wanted a treat after walking around town and Kilwins is a well known commodity to us. John went with mint chocolate chip (one of his favorites) and I went off script and got 2 flavors in my single scoop waffle bowl a smores-ish ice cream and a chocolate and caramel. I swear I could just munch on the waffle though! As delicious as the ice cream was, the waffle bowl was my favorite part. Typical since you can smell the waffle cones outside the store! Don't forget to taste before you pick your flavor! They are happy to let you sample. read more

The perfect spot after driving through the mountains for a sweet treat. The whole town has wholesome feeling and the staff carried that into their service. We had cups and waffle cones, all delicious! read more

This place was POPPING in Asheville, everyone we passed by in the street recommended this chocolate/fudge shop! I got a double scoop of cappuccino chocolate chip and New Orleans praline! Both flavors were amazing and I would recommend them to anyone. The waffle cones were also made fresh right in front of us. We got pretty hefty scoops for a good price plus it was VERY filling. Solid chocolate shop! Will be visiting again! read more

Traverse City Cherry ice cream in the waffle cone was to die for. Best ice cream I've had in years! Stop in. It's great!

Came for the ice cream which had good taste and very cold (didn't seem to melt as quickly as others). Gentleman made it a point to be a bit stingy on the serving sizes though. ( don't tell, but I'd recommend crossing the street to The Hop where you'll find more interesting flavors of homemade ice cream that we enjoyed much more ) read more

Pistachio ice cream. That's it. Thats the review. Seriously. Kilwins can do no wrong. Hardest choose is choosing which flavor to get, and I always end up with pistachio because it's just. That. Good! They also serve so many other chocolates goodness there! Try them out! read more

Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Black Mountain, North Carolina

Great variety of flavors and plenty of indoor space to stand while in line waiting to order. Their non-ice cream desert cases are filled with wonderful and oey-goey options, including many marshmallow and chocolate options. They can split scoop ice cream and a little goes a long way! Plenty of covered benches on the sidewalk to enjoy a treat and people watch. read more

I do like kilwins ice cream and I appreciate that we have an ice cream shop in town but we went in for an ice cream cone last night and had a very weird experience. The girl working was awkwardly calling me trouble and saying no to what I order. I'm assuming she thought she was funny but it was so incredibly awkward and she did not read the room at all. I had a very stressful day so her odd jokes were definitely lost on me. It's super important as a business owner that you teach your staff to be respectful to the customers and not make them feel uncomfortable. read more

Hey, wife got treats and brought them to the rental house. Damn good cookies! Might be a small chain but good chocolate is good chocolate. Recommend salted caramel cookie. read more

The ice cream here is fantastic! I also love their waffle cones. You can never go wrong in a Kilwins. Their candy is wonderful too!

Delicious ice cream right in downtown Black Mountain. They have fudge and other desserts as well and will let you sample it before deciding. They offer a no sugar added caramel ice cream that is so good - you would never know the difference. As other reviewers mentioned, the only downside is the price. ($4.75 for a single scoop of ice cream) If you are downtown and feel like splurging on a tasty dessert, this is the place for you! (It was so yummy we downed all of the ice cream before taking a picture!) read more

I loved every flavor of ice cream I tried here and the texture was perfectly creamy. We shared a scoop of toasted coconut, which, if you are a coconut-lover, is a must-try/must-have! It captured the essence of coconut perfectly and had little crunchy chocolate bits in every bite. So refreshing on what felt like the hottest day of the summer. We also sampled some of the fudge and I enjoyed the maple walnut fudge. Prices are a little steep but the ice cream is worth it. read more

Amazing place and very kind people. Stop in and see Richard. Carmel popcorn and fudge were fantastic. The best I have ever had.

Got turtle apple and almond toffee. All was so fresh and incredibly good. Definitely will be back.

Drove 2 hours for a turtle Apple and they were out so they made me a brand new one personalized to my liking (nuts and chocolate selection). They offer free samples of ice cream and fudge. Perfect old school treat to finish off a trip. read more

Kilwins wash delicious! I went there on a beautiful Saturday in Black Mountain to get ice cream. I tried several different flavors before making a decision and it was a tough one. I ended up getting one scoop of the marshmallow smores. After taking a few bites, I wish I had gotten more. If you are a smores lover, this ice cream is a must! While I was there, I picked up a 1/2 pound of chocolate fudge and a couple of orange-cream chocolate truffles. The fudge is the melt-in-your-mouth kind of fudge. The area is also a neat place to walk around with lots of little shops/stores to explore. Overall, great experience. read more

Guy who runs the place isn't very friendly. On a couple occasions, just plain rude. Really have pretty good pistachio, but not worth the unfriendly service. More to the experience than just ice cream. Too bad, because the ice cream is really good. read more

Not bad. You can't go wrong with sweets. Came to Black Mountain for one of my trail walks. Before my start of 10km walk, I noticed Kilwins as I was walking towards my start point. I decided I would stop by and check it out after I was done walking. My girlfriend and I were greeted with friendly staff and offers to try out as many samplings as we wanted. I passed the chocolates and fudge covered sweets and went straight for the ice cream. I asked the staff which flavor of sundae special they would recommend and was told that the turtle sundae was her fav. I gave it a shot and shared it with my girlfriend. Vanilla ice cream with caramel, chocolate fudge covered with some whip cream, walnuts, and with cherry on top, in a waffle cone. Mmmm!! Sound delicious? No? It was pretty good. I just wished it was in bigger serving. Hehe. I look forward to seeing this chain move to VA. Until than, I'll have to wait for my next visit to try out other sweets. read more

Great classic ice cream parlor with lots of other great snack choices. One of the best straight up old school vanilla scoops I've had in a while. Also loved their strawberry ice cream and raspberry sorbet. I tried a wild berry soda that was okay but probably less impressive in contrast to the ice cream. The staff was also enthusiastic and friendly. read more

Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge - Lots more dessert options beyond the ice cream (which is great). The staff were enthusiastically generous with the free samples. - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Black Mountain, North Carolina

i'm a loyal fan of oreo. so even the owner highly recommend the salted caramel (my boyfriend loves it and he betrayed his favorite flavor- chocolate peanut butter), i still got their cookie and cream ice cream. i must say it is the best that i had so far. the ice cream is not so sweet as normal American desserts. but it is very rich, creamy, and flavorful! i fully enjoy the milky taste without letting my sense gets numb by the sugar. the corn is never failed as being ice cream's best buddy. didn't get to try any other goodies but so satisfied just by this ice cream! read more

This place is very clean and sanitary which is a relief during these trying times. I haven't tried the chocolates yet but I picked up a variety. I did get half scoops of sea salt caramel and the coconut which were fantastic. Next time I would go all coconut. The young lady working was courteous, professional and helpful. What a nice experience in this quaint little town. read more

They have a good process for maintaining social distancing. Lots of tasty treats to choose from!

This place was super cute small town ice cream place with creamy sweet ice cream. The chocolate was a little too chocolatey for me but my son liked it. I loved my caramel swirl although it was very sweet and not like the salted caramel I am used to. read more

This is a great little icecream , fudge shop with quality stuff. It's mostly a tourist spot hanging out on the street. What's not to like about this place. Well, maybe a little bit expensive but on vacation who cares. Well, a family of 4 will hurt your feelings. However, it's a good experience and we will certainly be back. read more

Sweet chocolate selection, Reese Pieces Bark and Sea Salt Caramel Fudge were winners! Very friendly, take them up on samples!

Beautiful and atmospheric interior. Smells are great. Ice cream was 4/5 and Fudge is a 3/5 for me but my boyfriend says it's good and that I'm crazy but I just wasn't a fan! Great customer service, a little pricey but everything is handmade so it's not a waste. Not the greatest truffles, kind of bland and tasteless compared to most truffles I've had elsewhere. read more

You cannot go wrong on a hot summers day with this place. Ice cream and fudge are a wonderful mix! They give out free samples that will do the trick and entice you to buy.
