Sundae with hot fudge and hot caramel topped with whipped cream and pecans

Fun experience: eating ice cream on a warm summer evening, sitting outside facing the beach on the lake and listening to oldies music. The servers were very nice and the sundaes were amazing!

Orange Blossom ice cream, single scoop

Orange blossom ice cream was great! Service was fast. Laidback casual environment. Plenty of seating available. I recommend stopping by here if you are in the area for a sweet treat!

So happy we found this place and stopped here! Super cute deck overlooking the lake. Ordered one scoop of deer tracks and two scoops of chocolate peanut butter. The portion sizes were huge and ice cream was excellent! Definitely would recommend and will be back again for sure!

Not sure what's the deal with me and ice cream but when I see a local joint like Scoop I just had to stop and try it! Had the scoop (moose track) on the shake (coffee) and it's heavenly! We just moved to this area and I can already see myself spending a lot of time here ..

Great tasting ice cream, great friendly employees and owners. Being right across from the beach and next to Lake Lure Inn, they should do VERY well. Talking to the owners, they seem to want to try going year round by having hot chocolate and coffee during colder times.

The "boatload" challenge!!!
Tricia S.

Lots of memories made at Scoop! My family and I went 2x during our week stay in Lake Lure area, and my husband tackled the "boatload" challenge happily. Let's just say that the ice cream choices are no doubt delicious, but in large quantities, ie 7 giant scoops in the boatload, you would need 2+ stomachs to finish it all. 16 flavors of ice cream plus many more intriguing menu items that we'll have to return to try. Prices were reasonable. Staff was very nice both times we went, and the set up is fun. Not meant for a stormy day as there's no inside area, but perfect on all other days. Fans with mist under the covered seating area with lots of tables and chairs. Great location across from the Lake Lure beach slides. We recommend Scoop as a must if you're checking out the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area.

This ice cream shop is awesome! I highly recommend the milkshake with a scoop of ice cream on top!! The large is quite the belly buster. If you're really hungry they have a 7 scoop ice cream challenge that will earn you a shirt and bragging rights.

Great ice cream! They give you a good sized scoop on a waffle cone which is appreciated. Cute little store in the area.

Come all the time. Was charged $.75 for a single cherry on top of a scoop today. Just figured somethings were the cost of doing business.

When the weather is in the 90's it doesn't matter if you're on the beach or in the mountains the…read morebest way to lower your core temperature is to indulge in some ice cold creamy ice cream and that was definitely my plan when I whipped into this little snack bar - ice cream was my only agenda today but there are plenty of other offerings if you looking for something more savory. This little independently owned shop has limited hours on limited days of the week, there nothing like an owner who opens when he wants to and serves up a great selection of novelties, this almost always ensure you'll get quality products and it also means you'll probably have to pay up a little although I found the moderate pricing to be reasonable. The menus are posted everywhere once you climb the flight of stairs to the porch level - like more traditional ice cream stands there's a ordering window and a pickup window this to me signifies this place can get pretty busy although today that wasn't the case, of course I arrived a few minutes after opening. This place seems to offer unlimited flavors of ice cream and as I reviewed all the postings the only distraction was a couple of teenage boys seating on the bench beside the railing - one was crunching on his cup full of ice while the other was sucking on lemons he retrieved from his empty cup of lemonade, both were a little annoying but I was here for ice cream so it's wasn't hard to ignore the ill-mannered children although they arrived here in a early 2000 mini truck that hadn't seen a car wash in months. We found a picnic table under a big oak tree that provided shade to enjoy our treat and far enough away from the ice cruncher and lemon sucker to relax and suck down our shakes, I was bound and determined to do a little straw sucking to get some payback but unfortunately the two departed before I got to the bottom of my cup. We ordered a Banana and North Carolina Peach Shake in separate cups of course the smooth ice cream was filled with freshly sliced bananas and delicious peaches that kept clogging up the straws (that's a great sign for me it reminded me of my childhood when you had to pull the straw and do a reverse slurp to clean the fruit from within). The owners were friendly but focused and the little windows only provided a small portal to the inside which I thought was rather comical - a hand appeared to take the payment then it appeared again to hand over the product. It was a great experience over-all and the shakes were delicious, this is definitely a gem in the mountain forrest and deserves a visit again and again when in the area...

There were maybe 3 other people sitting there when I arrived. I ordered the chef salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing and the Turkey Melt which I had once before and recall it being THE best melt I ever had. When I got my salad, it had ranch dressing. I asked the waitress what was the dressing and she said, it's our special made ranch dressing, it's sooo good. I said 'I ordered balsamic vinaigrette', she said 'oh my, you're right, we'll get this fixed for you'. Oh well, I thought it was simple. When I got the Turkey Melt, it was so messed up, I could not EVEN pick it up, it was sliding off the panini. I had a guy sitting next to me who could not even order a pizza. He didn't know what his choices were. When the waitress told him his options, he said ' wait a minute, I have to make a call'. He was talking to someone about what he could have on his pizza. When the waitress came back, he couldn't remember what he wanted, finally he just said 'I just want cheese'. Then this couple at the end of the bar are SO loud, everyone is looking at them. They were locals because the kept talking about local stuff. Then as more people came in, they all went to the end of the bar to see this couple and all of a sudden it felt like a party. I was enjoying the HDTV, it had the golf Channel, ESPN and CNBC all at the same time, three of my favs' Then the sound of rolling THUNDER and all the channels went blank. It was more than I could deal with, I ask for my bill and a go box.
