Cinnamon Roll Pancakes
Vanessa R.

Came during a weekday morning so it was nice and quite. I was able to enjoy my slow morning with delicious eggs Benedict and cinnamon roll pancakes. The vegetables present in the eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and I love that sweet potato fries are an option. The cinnamon roll pancakes are a sweet tooth's dream! They're worth sharing with the table so everyone can get their sweet treat in. Looking forward to trying more on the menu!

Best BLT ever! Also amazingly friendly staff, fast service, very attentive. The decor is kitsch, as expected there are lots of bears! But comfortable, homey, and welcoming. They were having a fundraiser while I was there for the Peace Officer Memorial Run in October. I truly appreciate a business that involves themselves in their local community. Plus the kids loved Beary - the mascot for the Sheriff's Office. Will definitely be back.

Delicious . Great and speedy service and it too busy for a Sunday

This is one of mine and my family's fav main chain food spots . This past Sunday we visited our neighborhood black bear for some late breakfast and I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and it was the perfect blend for a sweet and salty cravings that were 100% filling . I was able to save half to take home for seconds. The flavor, texture, and temp was .

I wish I could give it a 4 this time.. I've been to black bear before and liked their food in the past, but this time I was pretty underwhelmed with my chicken avo club sandwich. The chicken tasted a little on the cold side and the sandwich just wasn't the same. The fires were good. The server was friendly, I would say attentive but she did come to the table 2 times to ask the same questions, country potatoes or hash browns, asked for hash and ended up with country lol. Didn't have the heart to tell her the order was incorrect. The flies were annoying asf too. That's all.

We went there for breakfast, so I can't speak of their lunch and dinner, but I bet it is good, if it is anything like the care they took in preparing our breakfast. The place is sort of large, but not too big. It is clean and parking is easy. The service is very good. Our server was kind and got our food right the first time and it was all served hot. It was not crowded when we came so we were seated straight away. We ordered coffee, which was great and looked at the menu, We ordered the Grizz which is two sweet cream pancakes with 3 eggs, which I love. I am always in need of more eggs. It also came with two slices of thick-cut smoked bacon, 2 sausage links and a good sized smoked ham steak. I had to share that. It was a lot of food. It was all perfect. We also tried the Bigfoot Chicken Fried Steak with eggs. It was so great and heart attack ready if you ate that everyday. I might be able to manage it. I loved it. It was 10 oz of tender beef, breaded then deep fried and smothered in enough country gravy for dipping the great biscuits with which it comes. The biscuits are home made and amazing. It also comes with eggs. You really do have to share this as it is a lot of food. We took a little back to our hotel and it was gone in minutes, The New York steak and eggs is cooked to order just the way you want it, and I always want my meat rare. It is just wonderful. The steak was tender and it came with those wonderful biscuits and eggs. We were just so pleased. We had no room for lunch later so we skipped it. The food is the best, the service wonderful and the place cozy.

Prime rib was cold, flavorless, and not charbroiled. Potatoes cold, muffins late. Sweet waitress, but service and food need work.

Very disappointing experience! Out of Iced Tea out of Tri Tip. The server brought us our soup after we got our dinners. Turkey dinner was 2 small slices of turkey. I don't go to Black Bear Diner to listen to mariachi music.

Food is always good. Service is fast and waiters are attentive. You can ask questions about the menu and waitresses are kind and friendly to answer whatever questions you may have. The ambiance is quiet and cozy. One thing I love about this place is managers help their team there's a lady her name is Josefina and she's always helping, she even brings plates to the tables and she walk around the restaurant asking if we need anything else or if everything is fine. This is always a good choice either for early breakfast or dinner.

I am blown away by this place!!! I'm usually not a big fan of American style restaurants but wow did I enjoy this place. Their menu is so cute! It's formatted in news paper style and illustrate a large variety of options. One of my favorite order is huckleberry milk shake. It's so fire and such a game changer for me. Refreshing yet creamy with hints of raspberry and blueberry flavor. Def coming for more!!

We had the country fried steak which was probably the best one I have ever had in my entire life! My sons had chorizo and eggs and the other one had chocolate pancakes, ham and eggs. We also got a Nutella Crepe because my youngest had never had a real crepe before. The food was all amazing. We cleaned every plate between a 47 year old, 13 & 8 year old! We couldn't stop eating!! The place was clean and for such a busy brunch we were sat very quickly! Service was amazing as well! The staff was so accommodating, friendly and professional! They were so hard working turning those tables over and checking on tables all the time. We didn't have to wait for plates to be cleared or refills of Iced Tea!! Like I said I can't believe I haven't been back to this place in such a long time but that is going to change!! I will be back as much as I can! Especially to support a local family owned restaurant!

Tasty or WasteY???? Totally tasty !!!!…read moreI love everything about this place. I always get the Chilaquiles with green sauce. My husband gets different things on the menu when we go and he enjoys all of them. The only problem I have is it is so loud in there because it is such a small and confined restaurant. And I enjoy the live music being played. It's just such a tight confined little place. And you have to yell to talk to one another therefore everybody else here's your conversation. This is not a good place to go on a date or to get to know somebody over conversation. That's why you have Galletto's or Tresetti's down the street. But if you wanna go and have a quick breakfast, then this is the place. Though wait waitresses are always very, very nice. And the prices are great.

They have yummy pastries on display but the breakfast menu has tons of savory options. We ordered H Street Block which is a blueberry french toast casserole. It was the perfect size. It looks small, but it was very filling and just enough to get my day started. It's a bit pricey for the size but since that was the portion I wanted, I wasn't too disappointed. One of the workers mentioned they do have kids menu options, but they didn't have the printed kids menus available, so if you don't see them, just ask when you are ordering. The Champions Breakfast platter was a great choice for our kids to share. It was one of the better fruit bowls I've seen, with a variety of fresh berries and oranges. The place is pretty small inside, but we were there on a Thursday morning so it was no issue finding a parking spot or a table to sit. I appreciate how kid friendly they are, even bringing kid size water cups with lids, and there are even some children's books on the shelf in the back. Such a cute little spot, I would have never known about it if I wasn't looking on Yelp for breakfast places in this area.

I ordered a regular coffee which was so fresh and perfect. My food, I ordered the Benny on a Bun, that's the wrong sandwich for a on the go morning. I didn't think to order the hollandaise on the side so my bread was totally soggy. The bacon was extremely salty. I'm not sure what brand it was but it was not good to me. I couldn't pick it up to eat it because I was driving. It was already soggy and wet to begin with, not the restaurants fault but I would say I would not order that for a togo order. It was not easy to eat, very messy and again, I didn't care for the bacon.

Tasty or WasteY???? Always Tastey…read more We have been coming to Mimi's for years. We are always welcome with a smile. They treat us as if we are family. Never had a bad service here. Their habanero hot wings are the best. I've tried so many things on the menu it's hard to pick just one favorite. I would highly recommend this place. Our waitress Jessica already knows what we want to drink and sometimes ask us. Are you guys here for dessert??

GOODBYE LONGTIME, RELIABLE FRIEND! I've enjoyed Mimi's for…read moremore than a couple of decades--it's been a go to choice for lunch, brunch, and dinner! The atmosphere has always been enjoyable, and the food always satisfyingly delicious. On 1/17/26, I treated a dear friend to dinner after a matinee show at the Gallo Center. We both enjoy Mimi's--sadly, not any more!! My French Pot Roast entree was luke-warm over piping hot mashed potatoes--huh...hmmm...?? Her Hibachi Salmon entree had undercooked rice--WHAT?!! (Chef's night off?? These are worse than NOVICE mistakes!!) This was prime dinner time on a Saturday evening--and, by-the-way...no manager in sight. The place was unusually quiet--few customers, only sparse regulars. As a side note: our server was being given recommendations for work at other restaurants by a couple of her "regulars." She wasn't too concerned about our substandard entrees; said she'd tell the kitchen, but "couldn't do anything about it." WOW! Management not available--probably also looking for other work?! Our dessert--apple crisp crumble--was tasty, yet more soft than crisp. I figured, WHY leave a review--the place was more-than-likely going under...?! This evening (4-months later) I was surprised when Mimi's came up under recommendations. I thought they'd be closed by now. Be forewarned--Mimi's is NOT what it used to be!! SO SAD, but I will not be returning! (My late father was a successful and celebrated chef from back East. As chain restaurants go...Mimi's was "ON" his list--especially the Modesto location. I'm relieved he's not alive to see its sad and disappointing demise!)
