If you have a gluten issue this is your place. They do have a larger variety than most places. However I was not impressed but the food. I can. It eat spicy due to stomach issues. We order the root beer ribs for an appetizer and they were spicy ! Burning my lips from eating them. My husband likes spicy and he liked them but agreed they had spice to them. I order the Philly cheesesteak again it was spicy. I don't mind a place seeing spicy food but tell people if it's spicy ! Some don't like spice and some just can't eat it. Even have the words slight kick or something to make people aware. Didn't think ribs and Philly cheese steak were things I needed to worry about ordering. I don't think I will go back. I was miserable for the rest of the day after eating here. read more

This is our third visit to a BJ's in two weeks, but our first visit to this location. On a Thursday night, it was fairly empty so we were seated quickly. Our server quickly took our order and reminded us that since we were members of their club, we got a free appetizer if we ordered an entree over $9.95. A different person brought our beers and got them all mixed up, but we figured it out. Our server came and we ordered the loaded nachos. We wanted to wait to order our entrees because we wanted to enjoy the appetizer. He encouraged us to place our food order because there were several large parties. Our nachos arrived and were HUGE. Very good and we were enjoying them, when guess what....our entrees were delivered. So annoying! Everyone enjoyed their meals, but we were only able to eat half the nachos since our entrees arrived too soon. We also had a coupon for a birthday dessert and it was wonderful. Our server was very attentive, but the whole fiasco with appetizers and entrees coming practically at the same time is a deal breaker for me. read more

Service was great, food was fine, pricing was high for the area, including drafts at near $9 for a 16 oz beer. Felt like price gouging for me. Suspect I'll move along to the next place. read more

I honestly cannot believe the quality of food that was served to us. I cook tri-tips regularly and I'm convinced the cuts of meat that were served to us weren't even tri-tips(not to mention how overdone they were, we ordered medium rare). The chicken my wife ordered was obviously left under a heat lamp for an extended period of time. My son ordered shrimp and got chicken. We didn't get our food for at least 45 minutes. The chicken strips my other son ordered weren't even piping hot(they should've been since they were apparently the hold up on our food). My inclination would be to give zero stars if that was a possibility, but the beer was the only redeeming factor. Our server was great and did the best she could, but I can't fathom going back in the future. They took three meals off our bill, but honestly that wasn't even close to rectifying the problem. Don't waste your time or money here read more

This place has a lot of variety on the menu so there's probably something here for everyone. Lots of gluten free options, even some apps and a dessert! I normally get kale & roasted Brussels sprout salad with a protein on most visits. Tried the Moroccan chicken this time; it's a new item on the menu and was worthwhile. Service was good, even on a busy weekend. Portions are average size, maybe a little small for the price paid. That said, it's one of our favorite places to eat in this part of town. read more

We just visited and we had Josie as our server and she was amazing! It was extremely busy and the kitchen was very backed up as well but Josie kept checking in with us and giving us updates. She was apologetic even thought it was not her fault that it was busy or that the kitchen was backed up. 15/10 for her service, she's totally awesome. read more

My only complaint is that I felt the music was a little too loud and made it hard to talk amongst our table. The menu was a little daunting, but we all managed to find a dish - they really do have something for everyone. We started with the loaded potato skins. They were amazing. My grandmother got the prime rib - it seemed pricey at first, but with all of the accompaniments it was well worth it. My sister had the Alfredo and said it was some of the best she'd had. I had the hickory brisket bacon burger - it was really good and could have been a meal on its own. My grandmother's meal came with a pizookie. We split the monkey bread pizookie between us (it came out still warm and with the perfect amount of ice cream.m) and still struggled to finish it. We will definitely be coming back! read more

First time in Ohio, first time trying BJ's and I have to say -- it was so good! All kinds of drinks for any occasion and they have a good draft brew selection! This was my first time visiting BJ's here in Boardman (I have been to the one in Baton Rouge) and it was excellent! From the very start it was a great experience. We were greeted promptly and seated. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. I apologize profusely that I do not remember her name because she was wonderful. So my husband and I were there at dinner time on a Wednesday evening and it was busy but the service was still impeccable. We ordered and the food was to Us in less than 20 minutes. Jason has the Meatballs and spaghetti and I had the Southern Comfort Chicken Sandwich with fries. His entree was huge! The 4 meatballs were HUGE. See the photo for proof! I tasted them and they are delicious. Very good blend of meat and seasoning. We were both very impressed and I think I would order this dish for sure when we come again. The red sauce was good not too overly spicy but not a bland sauce either. Sometimes in a chain you get either or, but this was really perfectly done. My sandwich was amazing. It's fried chicken with ham and bacon, Swiss cheese and Alfredo sauce and a Dijon mayo. I had the mayo on the side because I'm picky like that but it was great and I liked being able to dip my sandwich in it. Now I will say this is a fork and knife sandwich because the Alfredo makes it a bit messy but it soooooo freaking good. Jason has a price and he thinks he'll have it next time! If you download their app you get a free dessert pizookie - their signature dessert. They are not fresh cookies served in the tin pans with ice cream on top! We had the double chocolate one and ate every bite! Oh! I almost forgot! BJ's not only have a large beer selection but they also make their own root beer, cream soda, black cherry soda and orange cream. All are caffeine free AND they have used cane sugar and beet sugar so NO high fructose corn syrups. The root beer is to die for and I seriously should ask if they sell it in their growlers! Looking forward to our next experience here! Hope you'll give it a try as well and enjoy it as much as we did! read more

Sadly, this once A+ service , great bar, great food place, which we frequented once or twice every week, has just in the last two weeks gone to a big F! Wait times are up to an hour for food. Server/Bartender cannot get your orders, correct. Completely got our order wrong- for the second week in a row. The manager took it off our bill but server or manager did not ask if they could fix or replace/ make it right. We left hungry and did not eat. Favorite Honey Siracha Brussel sprouts had no Honey Sriracha sauce on them - Another couple leaving behind us also upset saying they never tip 0% but felt they had to because the service was so lousy. The person that sat next us at the bar they did not even acknowledge for over 10 minutes. Drastic change - what happened? read more

I ordered takeout while visiting my brother and was really impressed with the amount of options! I got the barbacoa cauliflower pita tacos and wow were they full of flavor. I personally love barbecued meats and this really came close to that meaty taste, and is a great option for vegetarian/vegans. My friend had the prime rib dip sandwich and also raved about how delicious it was. The real show stopper was the pizzookie which is a giant cookie with ice cream. It was phenomenal! If you're in the area the online ordering and takeout process was extremely easy and seamless! read more

I have been to this location on 2 separate occasions . I rated this place a 3 because of poor service. The food is very good and consistent. I would rate the location a 2 but the food and brew was very good. The poor service started with the hostess who could not find a table for a party of 6 in a half empty restaurant at 4 PM. Several groups were seated before us as we waited to be seated only to see a minimum of 6 other tables that set up to accommodate 6 guests. One of our meals was served almost a full 15 minutes after everyone else had been served. When this was brought to the managers attention nothing was done about it. The server also had to be flagged down for refills. Perhaps they were having a bad day, this is completely opposite of my initial visit. I will give them a third try when in the area, and hope for a better experience. read more

My Wife and I ate here one night to celebrate accepting a new job. Upon arriving it was very busy. Luckily my wife had signed up for the rewards online which put us ahead of the line. I was impressed with the decor and the look of the restaurant with very low lighting and a very nice looking bar. We were at a table after waiting about 20 minutes which was better than the normal wait time that night. Now down to the food. My wife had the Bison burger which was cooked beautifully and was very juicy and tasty. She paired it with a red wine which was average in taste and very strong but paired well with the burger. I had the pork chop with a salad and mashed potatoes. The pork chop was cooked to perfection crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The potatoes were average nothing to rave about and the salad was just a plain salad. I paired the meal with a beer sampler out of all the four beers I did not like any of them. They left me hanging on taste. They had little taste and were more like water with color. The waitress we had, seemed to be poorly trained as well. We had a few questions for her which were not hard and she had to ask another server. Overall I give this place 3 stars. read more

As others have said, this place is expensive and the service is terrible. We've eaten here before and were not impressed so this visit we stuck with drinks. It was a Tuesday afternoon when the place was dead. We sat at the empty bar. Even still, the bartender served us one round and left us with empty glasses the rest of the time- not a single refill. Husband had a Yuengling draft, which ran us $6 (the same as their craft beer prices- come on now) so he decided not to get another. Good thing because the bartender spent most of the time we were there over by the register with another server as both of them scarfed down a dessert in front of the whole restaurant. Talk about unprofessional. I don't go to a bar so I can watch servers stand 8 feet from me and stuff their faces with spoonfuls of ice cream while I sit there with empty glasses and no check. Eventually she did decide to cash us out, and we promptly crossed the parking lot and went to Chili's for round two. Should have gone there in the first place. Never again. read more

So my first experience here was not great. This time the staff was super friendly and my meal was much better. The asian chicken lettuce wraps were delicious. My friend loves their cauliflower tacos. I was skeptical of eating at BJ's with consideration of it being a chain because it limits what a restaurant can really become by maintaining a level of consistency throughout branches. In this instance, I did not find that BJ's broke the stereotype that exists in the chain restaurant industry. Yes, they have an expansive menu which seems to be a feature that many people rave about, but in my experience, a wider variety means more mediocre food. Think of buffets - they might have something that everybody likes, but I guarantee nobody's favorite anything comes from a buffet. As a brewhouse, they do have a variety of house beers from lagers, IPAs, sours, brown ales, and thankfully, stouts/porters. However, this will increase the possibility that your server will mix up them up if they look anything alike. This was the case when my dad ordered the stout and I the brown ale, but my dad took a sip and said, "that doesn't taste right." I looked at the two next to one another and could tell them apart, but I don't mind that our server couldn't because the stout tasted better anyway (we didn't trade back because I wasn't willing to sacrifice the lost sip from the brown ale). BJ's does gain points for the Honey Sriracha Brussel Sprout appetizer which was unique and tasted just fine. I honestly can't remember exactly what I ate for dinner, but I am positive it was a burger - it may have been the Brewhouse bacon cheeseburger or the hickory brisket and bacon burger. In light of this, I would assume it was the former of the two since it seems more standard and forgettable, but it also speaks for the level of mediocrity that I feel exists there. I'm not trying to say BJ's was bad at all, I just don't think it lives up to all the hype that your money can buy. If you want decent and uniform, this is for you, but if you want exceptional and extravagant, look elsewhere. read more

Great for lunch with $10 menu. Great service and varied selection with chain made beers.

This place is a rediculous, we ordered our dinner and before we left we ordered 2 -$6 "to go" meals which were on the BJ's app menu and we've ordered them before. When we got our bill we were charged for 2 full price ($16.95x2) meals instead of the 2-$6.00 "to go" meals as advertised on app. and on their website. When the shift manager came to speak with us she just kept saying that they do not do the $6 meals anymore and that it's still on the app because it's corporate and some stores do honor that and some don't. She didn't offer to honor the advertised price. She kept repeating that they were not allowed to sell the to go meals because they did not have the required stuff to date the cold to go orders. Long story short, they do not have all that is advertised on their app. and website And wouldn't honor what is advertised on their app./website. I don't typically complain but I am certain that they should honor what they have advertised or at least tell patrons that they don't honor the "ToGo" menu anymore WHEN they order a to go item so they are not surprised when their bill comes. My meal and my husband's meal were both good but they have gotten pretty small on portion sizes here. read more

We've been to BJ's several times now and each time it seems like it gets a little worse. First visit was right after they opened and service was pretty good as was the food. Second visit the food was ok, service was a little slow. Third visit, both had gone downhill. First off my husband got the wrong beverage and the waitress could not replace it, she had to "put in the order" for someone else to bring it. Eventually the runner did bring the correct pop. Appetizers took some time to come and sure enough, we had barely started them when entrees arrived. My turkey dip tasted good but it was sloppily (is that a word?) put together and the fries were covered with a pile of crumbs from the coating they use on them. Clearly the bottom of the barrel and tasted that way! Our waitress and someone who I assume was a manager both stopped by but neither seemed to notice our half finished apps sitting on the table. We didn't complain as the food was edible but it should have been pretty obvious there was an issue. A beverage refill was delivered after quite a wait by our waitress who said, "I grabbed it off her tray" assuming she meant the drink runner who'd messed up the order the first time. We like BJ's but they do need to get their act together if they want to keep our business. read more

Tonight was my first time visiting a BJ's and went solely from how good the items on the menu sounded, as well as some good reviews. The service was wonderful, and our server was very attentive. I have 3 children, and she brought out a little kiddie appetizer for each of them, that consisted of a cup of mixed fruit and a garlic knot. This was very thoughtful AND appreciated since they were hungry. It definitely held them over until they got their meal. The only downside, and thus reason for the 3 stars is that I ordered the Jambalaya, and my shrimp were spoiled. I ate one that I thought tasted a little funny, but didn't think it could be spoiled, then ate another and immediately had to spit it out. It was so bad that I had to go to the bathroom and rinse my mouth out. I thought I was going to throw up! I told our server and she offered me anything else on the menu and apologized. The manager immediately came over and was very apologetic and offered a free meal or dessert. The kind service made up for the upset, but spoiled or rotten seafood is definitely nothing to mess around with, so I hope they check their food prior to serving from now on. read more

BJ's is honestly really good. my first experience was at the south hills village location in Pittsburgh. My sister and I decided to eat here for dinner last night. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 beers and avocado eggrolls--- my favorite app from BJs! They were delicious as always. It took a little while for a bartender to take our food order, but maybe they just thought we were doing the app and beers.. who knows. For dinner, I ordered the Fire-Roasted Barbacoa Chicken. It is a seasoned chicken served over brown rice, black beans, feta cheese and a delicious fire roasted salsa. The dish was fabulous. My sister in law ordered the tuna salad and also enjoyed it. I highly recommend their pizookies for dessert.. delicious! Be sure to sign up their Rewards program on their website... 1 point for every dollar spent. This place seems to have a momentum here in Boardman Ohio. Maybe it's what the masses needed. Won't last Busy all of the time - we thought to give it a chance. Service was horrible. Staff was hanging out socializing with each other forever. Had to ask many times for simple things like water, etc. seems like the same thing over and over with these bigger than life chains with huge branding images to uphold. Focus is clearly On atmosphere over experience. Service is exceptionally terrible. Food is just ok. This place is like that song you heard in 1996 that you know you'll never remember. Meh. read more

I came here with my friend and her husband. They'd been here before and really enjoyed the pizza and wanted to stop back in for lunch. We sat outside and had a friendly server. The menu is HUGE. Like unnecessarily huge. They list items on the menu more than once and call the same dishes by different names. They should just make things easier on the customers AND themselves and simplify. We ordered cocktails and root beer. It took longer to get the root beer than our first app. The cocktails were really good, but I can't say they were well made. They weren't strong at all, and they weren't mixed well. For one of our drinks, I ordered the mango mule and was disappointed it lacked the mango flavor I'd hoped for. I got to the bottom of the drink and it was pure overwhelming mango. With the copper mug and so much ice it hadn't allowed me to really stir myself. We ordered the turmeric cauliflower and the brewhouse meatballs as apps. For our meals, my friend ordered the hot ham and cheese with mac and cheese. Her husband ordered a steak and rib combo with mac and cheese. I wanted to try the ahi tuna, but different ingredients were offered with the noodle bowl vs. the salad, so I requested the noodle bowl over lettuce. The cauliflower came first and was great, I was surprised how much I liked it. My friend's side of mac and cheese came out with my cauli app for some reason. Our meals started to come out and the server noticed the meatballs hadn't come yet, so said she'd go check on them. My friend wasn't a fan of the flavor combo on the ham and cheese sandwich with the alfredo. Her husband enjoyed his steak and ribs, but gave his meal to my friend since she wasn't thrilled with her sandwich. His side was mac and cheese as well - but his didn't come with the apps, it came with his meal. They were both disappointed with the mac and cheese due to the noodle type and the tomatoes they weren't expecting to be in the dish. The flavor of my salad was good and the fish was fresh, but the amount of lettuce I received wasn't on par with the noodles or the lettuce offered in their salads, so it was pretty much a few mushy leaves due to the guac. After we were pretty much done with the meals, the server came back and said the meatball app had been made, but no one brought it to us (apparently this wasn't her job?!), so they looked gross, so she was having them made up again to go. She didn't ask if we wanted them for there or to go, I guess we didn't have a choice. When they came, we opened them up to try them. The mashed potatoes with the gravy were really good, but none of us liked the meatballs. We only ended up taking them with us for their dog. Luckily they were taken them off the bill due to the delay. Since my friends had tried and loved their first experience here with the pizza, I think they'd probably try it again, but I personally wouldn't rush back. read more

I have been giving out a lot of two star ratings. This season food quality, service, its all been going downhill. We went here with some teaching friends and expected it to be busy for a Saturday it wasn't luckily. Our server however was bad. She messed up on our apps, drink order, main meal order, messed up our bills and checks. Then she complained to us about how she worked as a server at another location (chain) I don't know how she got a job in a place like this. She couldn't keep a small village coffee shop order in tact. Our eggroll app was good once she finally placed the order and we got it this took twice to remind her as everyone else was getting their orders. My drink remained empty despite me ordering refills and asking her to bring me more. The rest of the table had empty glasses also. Sad. My Quinoa with shrimp tasted dry, overcooked and lacked any form of flavor. Like a piece of gum that was quickly dried out. The portion size was leaving me hungry and wanting more. Jennifer's chicken was mostly fat and lacked flavor, her drinks also were empty. We don't got to locations to pay high prices, for small portions, decent quality, but the service was bad and slow. I can see why they went from being busy with a line out the door to this. the service has taken a nose dive, food quality and portions leave you hungry when you walk out and prepare to be a camel from dehydraton read more

Tonight was birthday dinner for sis. Lots to review here. The first visit here was actually pretty smooth thanks to Vince (found out his name tonight because I will probably ask for him when I go back if he is available). Our waiter tonight was obviously new. I understand being a new waiter/waitress and learning the ropes of a new place is tough, but I didn't quite understand what was going on with our waiter. Being that we were at a brewhouse you would think your waiter would be right on it with checking on you for another beer. Instead we had to ask someone else for another beer. So as for the service we had tonight it wasn't the worst service I have ever had but it most definitely wasn't the best. It was nice to see the manager come and ask if everything was ok. So thumbs up on that. As for our dinners and apps everything was delicious and we had to get one item taken off the bill because the carrots were undercooked and still crunchy. Parmesan crusted chicken was flavorful and hubby said he would definitely get it again. He wasn't a fan of the broccoli or the carrots because they weren't steamed he said they were almost raw veggies instead of cooked veggies. Brisket bacon burger was they first time my kid had brisket and he said it was delicious and the whole burger was gone in a blink of an eye. (Teenage boys that) he said it was a really good burger. My nephew ordered a bacon cheese burger and threw a twist and ordered a bowl of chili so that he could have chili cheese on his burger and fries. I didn't try the burgers but the chili was really good not spicy but pretty flavorful. Good idea on a chilly day. I decided to try the barbacoa chicken over a bed of rice and beans with feta cheese. The portion isn't huge because it is on the enlightened menu. If your going for the lighter side of the menu this was a pretty good combination of flavors. Pizookie Everyone should save room for this gooey goodness. WOW .... I had the salted caramel pizookie this might be the best cookie and ice cream combo that I have ever had. I tried a bite of the cookies and cream and the s'mores. Cookies and cream I personally wouldn't get that one for myself. Now the caramel on the other hand was gooey and had chunks of caramel inside. Yummy goodness. Apps avacado egg rolls were different and I enjoyed them but you really have to like warmed avocado to appreciate these little appetizers. The sauce the comes with it is sweet and a good pairing with the egg roll. Potato skins everyone really enjoyed these but how can you mess up a potato skin. Still giving a 5 star review. read more
