We had breakfast here at 8:30 this morning. Im in town visiting and my friend said i had to come here. She comes so often that they know her and our server was teasing her. The place is small and cute. I like that they have a simple menu with quality food. Their fresh fruit was delightful. The food was delish but a bit of a wait. The wait is worth it. My only suggestion is to change the name of special breakfast. I was trying to order the special of the day which was french toast and it got mixed up. Special breakfast is delish and i wasn't mad about it, but its just a little confusing.

This is the best breakfast in town. I miss the side sautéed veggies, and the best bacon ever. My only complaint is that they aren't currently open. Olympia desperately needs a weekday breakfast spot for the retired folks and stay at home parent crowd.

Bits has established themselves as my favorite brunch spot in Olympia. I've eaten there three different times now and the food has always been incredible. The cooks are busting their ass back there, the service is consistent and thoughtful. The ambiance might be my favorite. Music is important for me when it comes to atmosphere and they always have a chill vibe. Let's be honest, garbage music can be very distracting. Often at eateries the bar can be cold and uninviting, at Bits it's very comfortable and you can watch them work which is impressive. The overall vibe here feels like a friend who has the most Kick-Ass dining room. Everyone is working incredibly hard at that includes the owner who is approachable, down to earth, and charming. It's not the most elaborate menu and I'm not sure it needs to be. This is a must if you're cruising through Olympia.

It was super busy and we had to wait half an hour for seats. Thankfully it was sunny, so we sat outside and talked. The wait was so worth it, for the food. Was a tad pricy, but worth it to support a thriving small business. Will definitely go again! Get there early to find parking! Would not recommend going in a big truck that can't fit into street parking.

Breakfast sandwich was PERFECT! The diced breakfast potato's were the perfect crispness! The scramble was sooo yummy! and the toast! amazing with or without jam! Loved their cute selection of card games and other brain bender type games! Kept the kids occupied! Love that the seats are right on top of eachother (unless you are at the bar too), clean bathroom but if you have diaper kids no place to change FYI! The Peach mimosa was super refreshing! The owner was so nice and talkative and friendly!! She truly has invested her heart and soul in this place and you can taste it and feel it! Next time we are in Washington we will be coming back for sure!!!

I just have to say I truly found my experience nothing short of yummy and delightful all smashed together. Nestled in a neighborhood, the vibe is small town with great food. Don't let a small wait to eat, send you away as they seat you quickly and the food is worth waiting to eat. The servers are wonderful with quick and friendly service. I can't tell you enough about how much I enjoyed my Americano, one of the best I have ever experienced. As a vegetarian, I had good options to pick from. We were in Olympia for two days and we came here both for breakfast as we enjoyed it that much! Don't pass it up! It is wonderful.

What a great place for breakfast/brunch! My niece and I visited this morning to celebrate her birthday. Elizabeth was our amazing server! Staff was friendly and the food was delicious! I had the Eggs Benedict with smoked Salmon and she had the Eggs Benedict with ham. Bits is location has been many places over the years. They are located next to the West Oly Food Co-op. I love the quaintness of this little restaurant!

Best breakfast out we've had in quite some time. It was a unanimous vote between us all. The wait was roughly 30 minutes, but it flew by so it wasn't a problem at all. It's a great sign so many people were willing to wait for their food in my opinion. The menu is a bit smaller, but in no way is that a bad thing. They do those items so well, and really that's what you want. The ambiance is super casual and feels like you're at home in a comforting sense. Everything we had was delicious, everyone working there was friendly. I don't have a negative word to say honestly.

Very delicious. It is a fairly small place and there was a little bit of a wait. Thankfully the weather was nice and we just sat outside that the picnic table. Also, the place can get kinda warm, so just na FYI. But it was worth it. I got a N/A beverage, west side best side, so good. We also got one of the specials, which was like a bread pudding French toast. Yum. We also got the bacon Benedict, which was good as well. The potatoes were cooked perfectly.

My husband and I were in the area after dropping our car off at the dealership and decided we wanted to try this cute little breakfast place. I'm so so glad we decided to come here because it did not disappoint. Elizabeth (sp?) was our waitress and she was so so so kind and attentive to us. I was sad they were out of the lemon aid tea, but she offered a different selection that was similar that she thought I would like and boy was she right. I believe I got the Marion berry tea? Anyways the tea I got regardless was absolutely incredible. I'm such a tea snob so it's hard for me to find any I truly like but the one I had with breakfast was delicious and it came in a cute little pot so I could refill my cup as needed. Overall Elizabeth made our visit so wonderful, I can't rave about her enough. My husband got coffee and he was even blown away by that, he said he's never had such tasty, fresh coffee before! My husband got the breakfast sandwich with eggs on the side and he devoured his food, me however, not so much, don't get me wrong, the French toast was sooo yummy! Baby just did not like it :(. I was still starving though and ordered eggs and potatoes and that was very yummy, so fresh and they got it to me so quickly after I ordered, I was very very impressed. The ambiance of the place is so relaxing and cute, I love all their little decoration they had everywhere, it made the place feel more cozy! Overall I can't rave enough about how incredible this place is. Awesome staff, awesome service and FRESH HOT food!!! 10000000/10 recommend! Just know though that parking can be a little tricky as it's limited and you're not allowed to park in the food co-op next to the restaurant, but despite the parking situation, it was well worth it to eat here.

We've just moved to the area and we've been so excited to give Bits Cafe a try. This weekend was finally the chance we'd been waiting for - what a GEM! The coffee was fantastic and poured freely and often. The service was EXCEPTIONAL, friendly, and welcoming. The space was filled with live plants, beautiful music, intricate tile work - I loved the details from the tiny coffee spoons to the vintage Pyrex coffee mugs to the beautiful bathroom doorknob. No details were overlooked, big or small. The food was FANTASTIC and immediately devoured - you're lucky I paused briefly for this photo. The wait to be seated and to received our food was worth it - everything was delicious. I got the Special Breakfast and my wife got the eggs Benedict with ham and gluten free bread. Both were incredible. We will absolutely be regulars at our new favorite neighborhood restaurant. We had a chance to speak with the owner - what a lovely and thoughtful human being. Just another amazing experience since having moved to the West Bay area. Highly recommend.

This is a cute little cafe , about a mile from the mall, in a neighborhood setting. Drive easy because people live there. Limited parking. It has a really relaxing, friendly vibe. Service was good, it's a busy mom and pop type cafe, and they forget a few things like cream for the coffee, jam for the toast, but hey... Sunday morning is really busy. The food is good, hot and fresh, for a simple breakfast. My partner had a mimosa that was good.They have eggs Benedict but we didn't try it this time. Looking forward to coming back another day.

I went to Bits for the first time on Saturday, and wow! First of all, the ambience is light and airy with all kinds of beautiful plants placed around. You can see the kitchen and cooks, whi were all super friendly and professional. Now, lets get to the food. The food is unusually sumptuous and presented in a colorful and mouth watering way. You can substitute the to die for potatoes woth a salad that will delight your senses and nourish your body. The owner came out and spoke to us, and others! I had a scramble that was gorgeis, tasty and perfect. I substituted the bread with 3 small tortillas, and red hibiscus iced tea was my beverage. As usual, the best restaurant is a little hole in the wall. Bits has a modest menu cooked with skill and seasoned perfectly. No canned, prefab sauces. I ordered the avocado, tomato eggs Benedict with handmade sauce and perfectly ripe avocado. The eggs are organic and flavorful. Our server clearly loves her job and is passionate about the food she serves. read more

It was a snowy Sunday at 10 am and our wait was only 10 minutes. We sat at the very comfy counter. I'm short and don't typically like counter seats but I had no problem with these chairs. All the staff were very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Not a huge menu, had plenty that I eat though. I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with a salad instead of potatoes and hubby had a breakfast combo with potatoes, egg and sausage as well as toast. Look forward to coming back again. read more

Amazing little place!! We are from out of town and used YELP to find breakfast! Service was great! Food was exquisite!! We had the Bacon, Avocado, tomato Benedict and the special breakfast burrito! HOLY BRUNCH! Wow! This is my new favorite brunch spot, not just in Thurston county but I think maybe in all of Washington. My friend recommended this place and I was a bit skeptical since I believed it was just a cafe that had smoothies and small breakfast items. I was completely wrong. I had the special pancakes which were lemon goat cheese with a triple berry compote. Out of this world amazing. Seriously. My wife had the "special breakfast" which she loved and ate every bit of. Our three friends each had the burrito special and it looked fantastic. I also had a strawberry banana smoothie with no yogurt, sub coconut milk, and I drank all of it on top of eating the majority of my pancakes. This is such a hidden gem in Olympia. Tucked back in the West Side next to the Coop, you would never believe you could get such fantastic food. I almost hesitate to tell everyone this secret since I want to keep the lines short! But Bits deserves all the kudos and praise. Can't wait to go back! read more

Delicious breakfast with a great latte. Ordered the Eggs Benedict w/bacon, avocado and tomato with a sunrise salad. Egg sandwich w/ avocado and tomato with breakfast potatoes. These are generous portions (definitely shareable), lots of avocado and the potatoes were cooked to perfection: crispy and golden brown. Love the fruit cup served with each meal. My girlfriend and I are from out of town and a friend brought us here while we were visiting. We love this place and would 10/10 recommend. The owner was our server and she was very polite. I ordered the mushroom biscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes and it was some of my favorite that I've had. You can tell that the employees love what they do there and they put their all into the food they serve and the environment at the cafe. We will absolutely be back. After doing some black Friday shopping my sister and I were hungry and are always looking for a "cute" spot not just our usual. We found this place nearby and drove over. There is limited parking but we really didn't have trouble finding a spot. The outside is cute and cozy. Walking in we were happy to see it was just as cute and cozy inside with the best part being PLANTS EVERYWHERE. We're live plant people. The menu was smaller but perfect with plenty options for anyone. We tried the bagel and chive cream cheese to share, and she did the fancy special while I went traditional. We grabbed a seat at the counter where the stools could stand to have been set a tad bit farther out as anyone that's tall (my sis) had squished knees. But the fun part is getting to watch them cook and engage with them over the counter. (Plus BOTH chefs were women which is awesome). The wonderful woman working the register was SO friendly we could've stayed and chatted with her as our new friend. The food... AMAZING. It was so fresh and hot and well made. So satisfying and enjoyable. We stayed for longer than intended because we were so at home there. If you like great food, friendly service, and cute cozy environments... You must try. This small but adorable cafe has some great home cooked foods. You do not need to order at the counter, the waitress will come to your table. I got the scramble which was a great egg dish with unusal ingredients like purple cabbage and broccoli which added enjoyable texture and flavor. The potatoes were lightly salted and the fruit was thinly sliced and delicately presented. We got a jam that tasted like a combo of strawberry and raspberry which must have been homemade. My friend even got free toast with her meal. I tried some of my other friend's "special breakfast" and the balsamic was exceptional and it even came with two pieces of toast. I liked that the receipt offered check marks of 18, 20, 25, and custom tips so you do not need to do any math. I highly recommend this place for a tasty home cooked brunch. read more

I didn't think I could love a brunch again the way I loved Sage's Brunch House, but Bits, you have my heart/stomach. I crave the Special Breakfast- wilted greens? Balsamic glaze? Sourdough and eggs? Wow! I looked up breakfast and brunch spots around me and this place popped up. It is a converted old grocery store (I think that makes it so much cooler). The building was built in 1904 and was the first grocery store in the area to offer fresh produce. A trolley actually brought people from all over Thurston County so they could purchase fresh food. After that, this was a convenience store (Eddie's) and is still owned by the SAME Eddie. There isn't much parking at the restaurant but, there is a LOT of street parking. There is a pastry case that will hold fresh grab and go lunches like salads, spring rolls, and sandwiches in the next few days. As for my food, I had the Special Breakfast for $12. To say that it was good is an understatement! The toast was perfectly crunchy, the goat cheese was melted, the greens were wilted with a little bite to them, and the poached eggs were what eggs dream of being. The restaurant just went from weekends only to 7 days a week (7am-2pm M-F & 8am-2pm weekends). They are also open at 6pm on Tuesdays for game night! So, what are you waiting for? Get down here for some delicious food, fantastic people, wonderful music, and so much Olympia history! read more

Super cute and cozy! I live right up the street, I'm lucky it's so close. I've really only had their bagels, coffee, smoothies, and mimosas, but I've been very happy with all four. They offer larger brunch dishes on weekends like scrambles, eggs Benedict, and such. Definitely going back to try those. I see a lot of potential for this place to find their true swing, but they're off to a great start! they really care about what they're doing and serving and it shows :) read more

We moved to the Westside (and Washington) in May 2020 and anxiously awaited the reopening of Bits. It did not disappoint. The Special Breakfast is hands down the best breakfast dish in all of Olympia. Hubby loved his scramble. Friendly folks and charming environment. read more

I've waited a long time to post a review (too long) because I didn't know how to put my love of all things Bits into words that did it justice. The food: I have never had something here that didn't give me a full on mouth-gasm. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the flavors are always on point. ALWAYS try the specials, but the everyday menu is just as amazing, not to mention the variety of delicious (and healthy!) smoothies they have. They also make the absolute best almond milk flat white I've ever had. The environment: The atmosphere here is so serene and cozy, from the decor to the music it's a wonderful place to sip coffee, chat and play games. It's adorable and classy and so well done. I also love sitting at the counter watching the absolute BEASTS in the kitchen work their magic. The staff: I have nothing but good things to say about every person I've interacted with here. Thrilled to have this sweet café a few blocks from my house! serving smoothies, yummy bagels and schmear (I recommend the everything with smoked salmon cream cheese and cucumbers) and beer/wine. Only thing missing at the Westside co-op is beer/wine.. now you can pick up a 6 pack or a bottle of wine for dinner right next door at Bits!! It can sometimes take a moment to get your coffee if there is a line but give 'em a break as they settle in and iron things out. We just had the best breakfast at Bits Cafe! We had 3 different items from the breakfast menu and they were all excellent. I had a wonderful veggie breakfast with delicious mixed vegetables, hand cut potatoes, black beans and wonderful olykraut. So good. And served with sour dough toast that is baked locally, topped with strawberry jam. And it's in a lovely historical building with a sunny window table. A great spot for Saturday morning breakfast out. And such a kind and friendly staff. Great start to the weekend! read more

Cute neighborhood place serving Batdorf and Bronson Coffee along side delicious Bread Peddler pastries. A favorite is the apple fritter! I've been here a few times now and the service has always been excellent. Can't wait until they add more menu items. This place was highly recommended to us and we were excited to visit. It was definitely what we were hoping a small cafe with great food. Unfortunately we were not able to expire e the great food because the customer service was horrible. We were served water and the waitress didn't acknowledge us we sat and waited for anyone to take our order. Employees were just hanging around the cash register. Another gentleman walked in 10 min after us and was help immediately. The waitress walked by multiple times. GETTING THERE At first, we didn't realize this place is inside of a Toyota dealership. It's maybe about 5 min from the I-5 exit. It's extremely easy to get to and easy to find. Literally find the dealership with 100 Toyota cars and trucks parked outside haha PARKING Parking availability is just like any dealership. There wasn't a designated spot for the restaurant, but there was a huge gravel/dirt lot just on the outskirts of the main lot. We parked there since we had a trailer with a car on it. Its maybe about a minute walk to the main building where the restaurant was at. AMBIANCE/SERVICE It was 4th of July and the front had maybe 8-10 salesmen all lined up to greet customers. It was a little intimidating when we walked up since we weren't looking to buy a car, but the one closest to us understood we weren't interested and he helped direct us to the restaurant. Not much for ambiance. It is just like any other dealership. No special decor. Just a few lounge chairs, massage chairs, TV, and a brand new 2026 Toyota Tacoma parked next to the dining area for you to look at. The counter where you order at is fairly small. You just walk up, order, they give you a number, then you just grab a seat somewhere. There have limited seating near the counter, but you can opt out to sit at the tables by the front window where the display vehicles are. The staff was friendly and the food didn't take long to arrive. FOOD I ordered the breakfast pizza. I've had breakfast pizzas before, but this one is a little different. It comes with a biscuit crust instead of a typical pizza dough. Then it's topped with normal breakfast toppings like bacon, sausage, ham, cheese, and 2 fried eggs. The eggs aren't scrambled and mixed into all the fixings like others I've had, but I didn't mind this. This also had sausage gravy which I don't typically see on a breakfast pizza, but I enjoyed it. The gravy and the eggs helped balance out the saltiness of everything else. I enjoyed this version of a breakfast pizza with the biscuit crust, but it was a little too heavy for one person. I ended up sharing about half of it. I can definitely finish it, but I won't be moving for a while. The coffee was pretty standard. I also wasn't wanting anything too fancy, so it was exactly what I needed. OVERALL I enjoyed this place and I would come back. At the time, I didn't realize it was the same business as the location in Lakewood, which I've ordered from in the past on DoorDash. I've been meaning to check it out in person. But despite it being in a dealership, I'd say this place is still a good place to check out if you need a quick stop off the freeway.

Loved Pat's Café for Years -- It's Not the Same Under New Owners…read more Pat's Café was one of my absolute go-to spots for years -- I've been going since around 2005-2006. My mom, grandmother, and I all had our favorites there, especially the stir-fry beef dish and the classic corned beef hash the original owners served straight from the can (cooked just right). It felt like a reliable neighborhood restaurant with solid, consistent American-style dishes. Since the new owners took over, the consistency and quality have slipped badly. Dishes now come out differently almost every time. The Pad Thai toppings are sometimes mixed on top, sometimes served on the side like an afterthought, and extras appear or disappear randomly. It was noticeable but not a deal-breaker on its own. On one visit I ordered the country fried steak. There was a fairly large, hard piece of plastic in the meat. I bit down on it hard enough that it could have easily cut my gums or mouth if I hadn't noticed. I showed it to the server, and the only response I got was that they buy the country fried steaks from a vendor, so it wasn't something they made in-house. No apology, no offer to remake the dish, no discount -- nothing. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and returned for another meal. That next visit (or the one shortly after) became the final straw. I ordered the green curry. Eggplant is a major ingredient that adds essential flavor and texture to every bite -- right alongside your choice of protein (chicken, beef, etc.). I ate several bites before realizing there was none in the entire dish. When I mentioned it, the waitress simply said they had run out. They never disclosed the missing ingredient when I ordered or before serving the dish, and they didn't offer any adjustment, remake, discount, or comp. They just served an incomplete meal and charged full price. The lack of basic customer service on both visits was shocking and felt disrespectful. Finding a foreign object in your food should at minimum get a sincere apology and an offer to make it right. When a key ingredient is missing, the restaurant should let you know upfront so you can decide whether to order something else. On top of that, beloved items have disappeared or changed for the worse. The stir-fry beef my family loved is gone from the menu. The original corned beef hash was replaced with an in-house shredded version that just isn't as good. The place even seems to be going by a second name now (Phuket Thai) alongside Pat's Café, which adds to the confusion. I'm really sad about this because I genuinely loved the old Pat's. The new version just doesn't feel like the same welcoming neighborhood spot anymore. If you never knew the original, you might still find some decent meals, but for longtime fans, the changes -- and especially how both of these situations were handled -- make it hard to recommend. I've stopped going and am now looking for a new regular place. Hope the owners read this and consider bringing back more consistency, better food safety practices, and better communication when ingredients run out.

Its maybe about a minute walk to the main building where the restaurant was at. AMBIANCE/SERVICE It was 4th of July and the front had maybe 8-10 salesmen all lined up to greet customers. It was a little intimidating when we walked up since we weren't looking to buy a car, but the one closest to us understood we weren't interested and he helped direct us to the restaurant. Not much for ambiance. It is just like any other dealership. No special decor. Just a few lounge chairs, massage chairs, TV, and a brand new 2026 Toyota Tacoma parked next to the dining area for you to look at. The counter where you order at is fairly small. You just walk up, order, they give you a number, then you just grab a seat somewhere. There have limited seating near the counter, but you can opt out to sit at the tables by the front window where the display vehicles are. The staff was friendly and the food didn't take long to arrive. FOOD I ordered the breakfast pizza. I've had breakfast pizzas before, but this one is a little different. It comes with a biscuit crust instead of a typical pizza dough. Then it's topped with normal breakfast toppings like bacon, sausage, ham, cheese, and 2 fried eggs. The eggs aren't scrambled and mixed into all the fixings like others I've had, but I didn't mind this. This also had sausage gravy which I don't typically see on a breakfast pizza, but I enjoyed it. The gravy and the eggs helped balance out the saltiness of everything else. I enjoyed this version of a breakfast pizza with the biscuit crust, but it was a little too heavy for one person.
