Regular BBq Pork sandwich, fried green tomatoes and onion rings.

The staff was pleasant and friendly. They were patient as I ordered my lunch. I had the bbq pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and fried green tomatoes. They brought out their bbq sauces and let me know what they were. My food came out fairly quick the sandwich was fine, I used the hot bbq sauce on it. The fried green tomatoes were the low spot on the plate; two were thinner and cooked fine the 3rd was thicker and the batter on the inside was still raw. The absolute star of the plate was the ONION RINGS!!! They were hand battered, not from a bag, and amazing! I could have eaten a whole basket of them! And the sauce for them was good too; not too much horseradish but very flavorful. The building was open and clean. I would eat here again.

Headed South on a road trip and decided to stop at Bishop's BBQ. We pulled into the crowded parking lot and walked in, small line waiting to order at the counter, small lunch crowd. We ordered and grabbed a table, the food came out pretty quickly, looked great and tasted better! I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries, which was amazing! We also ordered the banana pudding, holy crap!!!!So good!! Try it!!! Prices were great, they do take cards but charge 4% to use a card, cash is best! Everyone is super friendly and pretty busy with lots of carry out orders going out in addition to the diners. If you are going through Tupelo, MS check it out!!

Extremely friendly service and the place appears to be extremely popular with a full parking lot and a steady flow of customers, especially considering I was here on a Monday evening at about 7:00, certainly not a prime time for dining out. Unfortunately, at least for me, the food was mediocre. I had the pork tenderloin with fried green tomatoes and coleslaw and while the price was right (that and a drink ran me a penny over eleven dollars), I found the food uninspired and the portions a bit small. They had a salad bar in the middle of the restaurant, but that looked like an afterthought, something to offer someone looking for a more health conscious option. There are three locations and the prior mentioned flow of customers says that it would seem that a lot of people would not agree with my review. In fact, as I was walking out a group walked in talking excitedly about this place.

The full sampler. More than two of us could finish.

I was in town (with my best friend John) judging a BBQ competition and, as is my habit, asked some of the locals who had the best Q in town. Several places came up repeatedly, among them, Bishops. They have multiple locations, but this review obviously only covers this location. Since we didn't have any history here a sampler platter was ordered. Ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and chicken as meats, and fried green tomatoes, fried okra, cole slaw, and purple peas as sides. The ribs were the best of the lot. Tasty, moist, good pull. Really no downside to them. I'd order them again with a very clear conscience. The chicken was also very most and favorful. Worth getting. Only issue was it was served cold. Would have been a little better if warmed up some. The brisket was both good news and bad. We had 5 slices. Two were tough and dry (may have been sitting out of the juices a while), but the others were delish - good texture, moisture, and taste. If you get this meat take a look before accepting it. Worst was the pulled pork. Had a decent pork taste but it was dry and totally devoid of fat, which is where a lot of the flavor and moisture comes from. Can't recommend this at all. The three sauces were OK. They are so personal you will really need to judge them for yourself. Only one sentence on the sides. All were GREAT. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Spent some time at our table and chatted with us. Almost forgot. Had the homemade banana pudding for dessert. Maybe the best ever. Regardless of what else you get, leave room for this!

Not super impressed with the brisket but the pulled pork was good. The staff here is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean.

Excellent pulled pork. Try the sweet sauce. Yummy! And they had room for us to park while hauling our camper.

Guess I caught them on a bad day. My ribs were so tough that you couldn't eat them. And it was all cold.

Wonderful southern BBQ. The sandwiches were piled high with pork. We will definitely stop again when we travel this way.

Great food!!! We pass by Tupelo often!! Will come here as often as possible!…read more Oysters yum Wedge yum Scallops and steak....yes!!

I was in town for a couple of weeks and ended up at Forklift twice. Overall? Good. Nothing…read morelife-changing, but solid enough that I went back. Visit #1: I ordered the Voo Doo Tots and the prime filet. The tots? Okay, these were amazing. Like, I could've just eaten those and been happy. The steak was a solid prime filet--cooked well and enjoyable, even if it didn't quite steal the show from the tots. Visit #2: I tried the Chef's Charcuterie Board (which, plot twist, is served on a plate... not a board) and the Forklift Fried Chicken. The chicken plate was a little disappointing for me. The collard greens and cornbread were definitely "not how momma made them" (kidding... kind of). Still edible, just not memorable. Both visits left me satisfied, but it's more of a "stroll back" than a "run back" kind of place. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, which always bumps a restaurant up a notch in my book. I didn't try one of their Old Fashioneds--apparently what they're known for--but I did go for the Fire of Mordor cocktail. Tequila-based, delicious, and honestly the name alone sold me. Cozy restaurant, and we had reservations both times even though it wasn't packed. Overall, Forklift is a nice spot to land for a good meal in Tupelo.
