Came here before heading back to Cali... major mistake! We waiting over 30 mins for our food to come to the table only to be ice cold. Waited an additional 5 mins before getting up to request a manger to come to our table to address the issue. We normally go to the Biscuit Cafe on West thunderbird. Now I know why. The hostess sat us at a table and we never got served and so I waved at a server and he tells us our server was running late. Why would a Hostess sit us table with no server? Then, when I got my eggs benedict they were cold. It took me forever to wave down the server keith. Today my wife and i had one of the WORST experiences that we've ever had at Biscuits in Surprise. We went in to order and Ryan was our server, my wife ordered an omelet and i ordered bacon crisp, eggs over medium well and hash browns, both orders of hash browns towards well, my eggs specifically said I do NOT want them crispy and glazed over from too hot of a pan. I also ordered wheat toast DRY with butter on the side. Well the order came and the wifes omelet was good but both hash browns looked like warmed potatoes,, no browning hardly at all. My toast was soggy from melted butter NOT day as requested, my eggs, well, VERY crispy all over. I called the waiter over and he immediately starts in "That's how we cook them here". I said maybe the damn cook needs to learn how to cook, i also stated that this was a restaurant where food was prepared to customers requests and NOT a cafeteria where food was cooked how you wanted. He immediately flared up and grabbed my plate and started to reach for my wifes where i glared at him he said i'll just take yours and bill you for both. I said get a manager and he responded she won't want to talk to you either. She finally came over and i explained the situation and she also said that's how "WE" cook it here, NOT how the customer wants. She did reverse the charge for my meal and as soon as my wife finished we paid for hers, (NO TIP) and left. Such utter disrespect and rudeness, as i mentioned between the two up in that area we ate at both NUMEROUS times until today, that will be our LAST time at the Surprise location. We drove in from SD to visit family and we were told this was the spot for breakfast. I'm glad we did cause this spot was AMAZING!!! They are known for their cinnamon rolls and biscuits! This is solely a breakfast/brunch spot. They close pretty early and they were super packed for a Saturday morning. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and if we are ever back in AZ, we definitely will be returning to try more and more of their dishes. And of course that mouth watering cinnamon roll!! Well, shame on me again yelpers... my husband convinced me to try Biscuits one more time on New Years morning. I reluctantly obliged because I really wanted some eggs Benedict and didn't want to travel to black bear. I knew since it was New Year's Day to expect a wait. The 40 min wait did not bother me, what bothered me was the 38 minute wait for our food that we never received because we walked out. The waitress was nice and brought us water. She was polite, but never once did she stop by and apologize for the wait or say anything about why it was taking so long. My husband said it seemed like they were more focused on to go orders than the people inside. I'm happy we walked out because heaven forbid one of my poached eggs were over cooked. Surprise, AZ keeps growing with so many fast food restaurants popping up all over.The choices can be a little overwhelming to decide where to eat. Luckily, Biscuits Cafe was an easy choice. We came for a weekday breakfast and they were already filling up the tables fast. We sat down and ordered the Country Omelet, Smoked Brisket Benedict, and Cinnamon Apple French Toast. Country Omelet: The gravy was delish! Also comes with your choice of hash or potatoes and biscuits. I hope your stomach has space for this plate, because it is huge. Brisket Bendict: One of their better bendicts. The hollandaise sauce wasn't my favorite. I felt like it didn't mesh will with the brisket. The brisket was excellent though! Also, comes with a side of hash or potatoes (get the potatoes!). Cinnamon Apple French Toast: Winner! Winner! I could have eaten these for days. And we actually took half of these home, so I could eat them the following morning. The cream cheese drizzle on top brought the sweetness, so syrup wasn't really necessary. Writing this as we drive away because that's how dissatisfied we were with today's visit. This is our second time coming here and the first time was great which lead us to coming again today, first off we got on the waiting list and I was told I would receive a text within 25-30 minutes that our table would be ready for two people. We waited and realized it had been more than 30 mins that had gone by and I walked inside to see where I place was in line, I was then told they could actually seat us down right now, coincidence or did they forget about us? I don't know it was weird. I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and my boyfriend ordered the chicken fried chicken breakfast. We both got our eggs over medium and he added cheese on top of his hash browns. Our eggs were both barely cooked, definitely not over medium, the cheese wasn't even melted on top of the hash browns, it was still shredded looking, it didn't look appetizing. My bacon was burnt and inedible. I don't know if we will be back after today, we couldn't even finish our food. read more

We sat with some sunshine because it was collet temperatures and the sun felt great. We had breakfast. The bacon, biscuits and potatoes were all very good. The pancakes were average. My wife had decaf coffee and it was obvious a new pot had not been brewed in quite awhile. I would have sent it back, she just didn't drink it and just drank her water. The cinnamon rolls looked great and huge. They were a meal in themselves, but we didn't try them. We went in at 11:00 in the morning and they were still busy. I was disappointed with my first time at this cafe, and I'll explain why. There were two things that made my experience from good to average: my biscuit and gravy dish and their "FREE beverage for signing up" promotion. The cafe environment is very friendly with the cute decor and friendly staff. It was really clean and modern-like inside. It is a classic American brunch cafe. For a place called "Biscuits Cafe," you would think they would strongly emphasize on their biscuits. I ordered the two biscuits and gravy dish and was disappointed at how standard the biscuits tasted. I was hoping for nice, big, fluffy, flavorful biscuits. But what I got were relatively small, slightly dense and standard tasting biscuit (like, I could have bought biscuits at the store and had the same experience). When I approached the counter to pay, I asked the cashier if I could get my coffee for free because I just signed up for the rewards program while I was sitting at the table. The cashier responded, "Did you signup today?" I said, "yes." The cashier further explained that she cannot honor it, because it takes 3-4 hours for their system to update. I was not happy with this because I was expecting for my drink to be free if I signed up today. Overall, the cafe environment was good and the quality of food was decent. Our server Ryan provided the best service I had at any restaurant since I can remember. He was also very polite and hospitable. Biscuits says they have fresh food, but the steak was a preformed breaded frozen patty they just deep fried. I expected a fresh cube steak pounded, breaded and deep fried. Their Biscuits were good. I went to the Location on Bell Rd. I chose this place for a nice sit-down breakfast with atmosphere on a Saturday morning. The prices were high, the place was busy. I had the original breakfast for 15$. I asked for over-medium eggs and when i got them the whites were not done. Parts of the hash browns were lukewarm. The meal overall was not hot. The pancakes were so-so. The turkey bacon was so tough I couldn't chew it. My server was not pleasant, she didn't bring me my food, another server did. I understand servers help each other out, but I felt like my server did not care about me. When I was finished I asked another server for my check and informed her that I was going to the restroom and not to clear my table completely. When I came back my table was completely cleared so I couldn't finish my drink. I told the young gal at the counter and she rolled her eyes and went to get my server. The only time my server was very nice was when she was giving me my check at the register because she wanted a tip. Overall my experience was not good, the food was not hot, (but expensive) service was not good, and customer service also was not good. It's the first time I have never left a tip. Super disappointed in my first experience here at Biscuits Cafe. Is it Karen time? The food looked really good, we were excited and were willing to wait for a table and there was a ton of people that come through here for breakfast but Be Aware of their hygiene practices. Not only is the kitchen bar visible to several tables (maybe nobody pays attention) but while waiting for our food I had a clear sight of a few girls working the kitchen serving area where the food comes out from the cooks. The entire time this blonde girl had one glove on and was grabbing everything with both hands straight off the plates, switching things around, taking things off. She repeatedly scraped food off with her bare hands onto another plate and continued wiping her hands on her jeans then grabbing her drinking cup, utensils, things beneath the counter.. just non stop I couldn't believe how nasty ... just change your glove on occasion and get a damn hairnet! These girls all had their hair down and loose, I'm literally watching hair dangle and touch into the food ready to be served. After maybe 30 minutes of waiting for our food, I got up to speak to one of them and let them know we were leaving. I told one of the waitresses we could see everything and asked for the girls to change their gloves. I was grossed the hell out and even asked if they were aware there was a bunch of people that could see directly what she was doing. None of the girls seemed to care nor did I expect them too. Plus, I can usually ignore what's happening in the kitchens and I am never one to complain but the fact I had to sit and just watch this girl in particular just manhandle the food.. i was anticipating when our food hit her hands, will I be willing to actually eat it. that was a hard no and I wouldn't wasted the money. The remodeled garage architecture is really cute. The front desk could use courtesy training in the way they manage crowds for COVID, but the real problem is ten dollar oatmeal that looks like this. The first bowl had so much lukewarm water on it that as hard as I tried, I couldn't bring a spoon of it to my mouth. I didn't want to complain. I just wanted some oatmeal. It is a great heart health food and detoxer. They brought me a second bowl that was so dry that it didn't stick together. I was just going to deal with it until I found a wet spot in my sugar. Blame Cicely Tyson for spitting in the glass of water in that movie, but when I found a wet spot at the bottom of a sugar cup after making a complaint in a restaurant, I got so disgusted. Two disgusting bowls of oatmeal. And I've been here for almost an hour. It took a good twenty minutes to get the first bowl. So, I went to take a look at the cooks to see if they would be the type to spit in food for revenge as some servers reportedly do. The cooks looked like young men that would be very amused by such a prank. I returned to my seat feeling confused about what to do next. Disgust and food are incompatible. Within minutes a bearded man came over to ask if everything was ok. I had no idea who he was or why he felt a need to get involved. I was going to talk to my waitress. After a difficult minute he admitted he was the manager. I told him this story. He was very caring. He assured me that nobody in his kitchen would do such a thing as spit in food for revenge. I didn't believe him. I believed him even less by the end of my talks with him. He kindly served me a third bowl of oatmeal. It's the second photo. It's so dry and uncooked that I can't eat it with pleasure. I know oatmeal isn't ever really a pleasure to eat, but here oatmeal is torture. I wasn't going to complain further. I'm kind of depressed today and not in the mood to interact much with anyone. But the manager came over to check on me so I decided to tell him that he should be sure his cooks know how to make oatmeal, especially at ten dollars a bowl. The serving attitude disappeared. An angry man appeared. He told me if I don't like their oatmeal don't order it. He got very abrasive. He didn't even let me finish my sentence before he delivered his suggestions that I not order oatmeal. I think he should not be angry with me for knowing how to cook oatmeal. I think he should be sure the boys in his kitchen learn to cook oatmeal. His anger at me displayed so roughly abated somewhat when I put him on video. This restaurant is groovy. Came in on a Sunday morning around 9am. Had about a 15 minute wait for a table of two, which isn't terrible considering it's a Sunday morning. It was our first visit so we took some time looking over the menu and observing the restaurant in general. The menu is your traditional breakfast diner menu. We ordered chicken fried chicken with hash browns two over medium eggs, with two biscuits and biscuits and gravy with two over easy eggs and a side of bacon. If you can't tell by the two orders, they each come with a lot of food. These portion sizes are big! We both really enjoyed our meals, the biscuits were also big winners. There are zero complaints regarding our food or the service, it was all pretty good. The restaurant itself is fast paced. Tables were emptying out just as fast as they were filling in. I'd say that's because the food is good, but the tables and seats themselves are not comfortable. The booth seats are made from wood slats and the chairs are a hard metal or plastic. Each table had bowls of coffee creamer out, but it's not clear how often they clean them out because both ours and the table's next to ours were covered in syrup and another in a dried liquid (ew). I'd be willing to give a pass on one table, but then another? That's a trend. Most diners I've been to have that great diner coffee, this one did not. So I'd recommend skipping the whole coffee situation all together and sticking to the food. Maybe a glass of water? I can vouch for the water. read more

Originally stopped at a place that was documented on TV. Waited to be seated and 5 minutes went by just like the workers who went by me without even just checking in to say "we'll be right with you." So my senses tell me to leave and so glad I did. Went just down the street to this gem and everything was awesome from the time I walked in. Service was great! Food was outstanding! So this is a daytime cafe, which I normally love. But we went for lunch to the Surprise location and our service was "meh" and so was the food. On top of that, our bill came in at $75 for four of us - one sandwich, one chicken fried chicken, one French toast plate, and one chicken tender plate, all ice waters.
