Food was just as you'd expect for a Biscuits Cafe. We've been to a number of their locations and the food is always consistently good. Yes, as always, the "biscuits" and gravy are the best. Pains me to write this review because my wife and I enjoy breakfast at Biscuits but today it was about better than Denny's maybe a little worst. It starts with the manager/hostess. Instead of a warm greeting or hi and welcome she says with discuss in her voice "can I help you". WTF. Who greets customers like that???? I knew there were more problems as it was 8am and there are barely any customers in the place. Not like our regular Biscuits at all. The server cannot speak with any clarity and finally I just said I'm ready to order. Food arrived and first noticed instead of 4 bacon strips they gave me two strips well over cooked. I tried the loaded hash browns I ordered and the sour cream tasted horrible and the hash browns were stone cold as if they had been sitting for 20-30 minutes Somehow the eggs were perfect but since the toast still wasn't delivered by the time toast arrived now it was all cold. The sour dough toast wasn't like I normally get at a Biscuits it was more like bread from Safeway. First time here, place is packed on the weekend. Had a party of five, 830 in the morning on a Wednesday. Open seating environment and happy to see they have servers and open for business. Lots of breakfast options for just about everyone. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. Service was a bit slow and wait time for food is not on the money. I can imagine that could be an issue on a busy weekend. They have signs on the door stating they are not a fast food place so they must be a bit sensitive to that issue. I had the Country Benedict served with red potato, two poached eggs with sausage on english muffin halves and smothered with country gravy. I'm a little mixed feelings on my visit to Biscuits Cafe. First off I was highly surprised when we pulled up a little after noon on a Sunday and the parking lot was empty. I had to double check there hours cause I thought they were closed but they were opened. As you could see from my picture it was very empty with only 2 other tables taken. Another surprise was how long it took for us to be greeted and then seated. For as empty as it was we should've been greeted within seconds and seated right away. Once we got seated our server was very kind and friendly. My next surprise was the prices!! $6.29 for flavored Lemonade with no refills. I could understand if there was alcohol in but it was just Lemonade. As far as food, we ordered the Keeping it Simple where you pick 3 items to build your plate. We choose the French toast, Pancake and Ham steak. This plate was delicious. For the amount of food that came on the plate, it was worth the price. We also ordered the BBQ Bacon Western Burger. This burger was massive! It was made for a great Instagram photo but definitely not made to easily eat. I had to remove a lot of the insides just so I can attempt to but it. Then when I went to take a bit the bread was so hard I couldn't even boot into it. My knife wouldn't even cut it. So I ate it like an open faced sandwich. I must say though, our server was very apologetic and they did take care of it. These might be reasons why it was empty on a Sunday afternoon. To be honest, we probably won't be back. read more
