Terrible lunch. Ordered California chicken sandwich and it was burned, soggy, and they dumped 3+ tablespoons of mayonnaise on it. Could not even bite through chicken it was so tough. We arrived 30 minutes before closing and were seated promptly. My kids got the run of the mill mac and cheese and pb&j. They seemed happy with their choices. I ordered the two biscuit and gravy combo with sausage and eggs over medium. The gravy is mediocre at best with lots of rosemary. The biscuits were hard. The eggs were runny and slimy. The one sausage was tough. The hash browns were deep fried and tasted of oil. We also got a corned beef hash and eggs- the scrambled eggs were the best thing on that plate. Hard as rock hard potatoes and flavorless hash. Looked like it was more for a dinner than breakfast hash. My mom got the sweet potato pancakes with ham, eggs and hash browns. Again the hash browns were not edible. She said the pancakes were good, and really liked the ham. Her eggs were cooked correctly. On top of all that, since they were closing the servers in the section next to us were extremely rude and loud. Talking crap about another servers, having to do their side work, complaint about not being able to go smoke a bowl. One was saying she's a judges daughter and can get away with things like she could do a line of coke and not get in trouble. She had a clear distain for several coworkers as well. My father and I usually go here to celebrate birthdays or Father's Day. Usually the food is good and the service is great. Today, not so much. The service was really slow. People that came after us had their order taken before us and were done eating before ours came out. I asked about our food and was told it was busy (there were several empty tables and no wait). The server then returns and says "it has only been 21 minutes." The food finally come and it was luke warm at best. When it came time to pay, the server brings a tablet over, asked if it was accurate. When I said it was, he stood there waiting till I completed the transaction, looking over my shoulder to see how much tip I left. I was very strange. I had 2 eggs, hash brown potatoes , 4 slices of Turku bacon. And 2 pancakes. The food was great and the service was outstanding (Sasha was the server). I wish the chair had been padded and my table was along a wall. I was put in this location since I was by my self. I also think the price of my breakfast was a little steep (21 dollars not counting the tip). I did get plenty of food. We had breakfast here one morning. It was reasonable, but basically just your average breakfast. I had the Belgian Waffle with berries and some eggs and bacon. It was fine, but no different than I could have gotten at IHOP. They did have gluten-free options for my wife though, which is always a plus. read more

Decent food... but the service provided by Biscuits staff is Terrible. I used to frequent here a few years back but these past many months has taken me to other parts of Phoenix. Thought I'd stop in after being away. Upon entry to the restaurant the first thing I noticed was how filthy the place was; food, napkins, sugar packets, a fork, and a bunch of other crap was strewn throughout the entire restaurant. Not kidding at all. The place looked like a tornado just went through. 75% of empty tables were filthy with dishes and whatnot... a clear understanding that this crew did not care about keeping the restaurant clean. As we found one of the two clean tables we were seated. 10 minutes before our waiter came over and gave us 4 excuses as to why he was delayed in getting to us. His inattentiveness remained with him for our entire stay. As did the ongoing excuses. We were there for about an hour... of which 45 minutes of those 60 not a single worker did anything to clean the place up. Until one little girl, maybe a waitress, came over, looked around, and said out loud, "this place is a mess!" Then lethargically began clearing tables. She didn't sweep the floor nor wipe down (sanitize) the tables. Disgusting no matter how you look at this. Sadly, it is evident that Biscuits leadership here is AWOL. So, we won't be back. Ever. There are plenty of other restaurants that care about cleanliness and customer care as this Biscuits location does not. read more

My mother and I wanted a good place for brunch after her eye doctor appointment. The office said they heard this place was a real treat and it was right down the road. We popped in about 11:00 or so. The menu said they had a Joe's Scramble that closely resembled a Joe's Special my husband I used to drive 50 miles for when we were in Washington state. Thought we would give it a try. So glad we did. See picture. It came with two fluffy pancakes too. No way we could finish all that food, so we brought the rest home and ordered another one to bring home for my husband. As expected based off my experience at another biscuits cafe the food and drinks here are amazing. As far as the service, not so great for being a very busy and popular breakfast spot. I realize I arrived an hour before they closed but the cursing from the employees cleaning up and somewhat slamming of dishes is not necessary around customers and kids. I realize that people get frustrated while at work but they still must maintain some sort of professionalism. Biscuits Cafe is beginning to make their mark on the neighborhood with an upgraded breakfast experience. My family wanted to come here because my mom had tried and loved it. Their parking lot isn't huge for the amount of people that can fit in this restaurant which can be difficult. When I came to try the place, I had to park down the street because of how busy it was. There was a 20 minute wait which was no problem and actually was about 15. I was excited to see what they had to offer for a new place. FOOD: I ordered the biscuits and gravy with hash browns, sausage links, and two eggs (poached). My mom loves their avocado toast that comes with two eggs as well. We ordered two bloody mary's to try out before our food came. The drinks were okay. Personally I like spicy bloody mary's, and these were adequate but nothing special. The bacon strip in them is pretty good. We waited around 20 minutes for the food to come out. My plate was pretty good. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good and nothing to complain about. The sausage was good and flavorful. The poached eggs that I got weren't as good as I had hoped. One of my eggs was way over cooked and was disappointing. The other egg though was just right and the way I prefer them. The hash browns were undercooked like most places for some reason (which I can't stand), so I did not finish those. My moms plate she enjoyed and didn't really say anything she didn't like about it. The food quality overall was decent but not great. SERVICE: Our waitress was friendly and nice. She attended to our table well and was helpful with suggestions on ordering. I feel as though she was probably the only reason my review will stay at 4 stars for now and not 3. OVERALL: Overall Biscuits Cafe was a little overhyped for me. I expected the food quality to be much better and have more flavor along with cooking the food properly. Our service was great and I will probably come visit here again in the future, but there isn't anything to write home about the restaurant. I really wanted to love this place, but so it goes. My mom and I decided to stop here for a late morning meal. Upon entering, I was very impressed with how open and spacious it was. It has an uptown warehouse type of vibe. We were happy to see there were a lot of choices in the menu, but since this place is named biscuits, we thought we'd try the 1 biscuit and gravy. It is possible we didn't read the menu carefully, but we got 2 eggs and meat. On mine the meat was 4 slices of bacon, and my mom had sausage with hers. I ordered hash browns on the side, so we could see what they were like. 1. Eggs ordered over medium were runny with runny egg white in the yolk. 2. Hash browns were run of the mill, tasting a lot like the grill spray. I've heard some people like that flavor--not me. 3. Bacon was good. 4. Sausage was good. 5. Lemonade--tasted like it was made from a syrup and bottled lemon juice. 6. Gravy interesting. Peppery with small bits of meat throughout. 7. Biscuits a little disappointing for a place named Biscuits. As good as the fast food places. I ordered an extra one so I could taste it without gravy. It was served with two butter packets, but no jelly. I had to ask the waitress to bring it. I was given a strawberry?? I think. I guess they don't have the packets. I was not getting a choice. All in all, the breakfast was VERY EXPENSIVE considering food quality and delivery. The waitress was nice. I was not offered a refill on tea. Paying the bill was awkward with the register up front by the door. The other side of the door was the hostess station. She was doing two jobs. I can imagine with a crowd it would be uncomfortable waiting to get in and out because it is a congested area. 2 stars for ambiance and cleanliness, even if the paper towel dispenser was empty in the ladies room. The best biscuits n gravy I've had in the state of AZ! They don't put too much pepper or sausage but just enough. There are also visible herbs and spices other than pepper. A wonderful gravy I've fluffy yummy biscuits. I usually get the Benedicts, which are also top notch, but went for this lovely dish instead. Glad I did! Highly recommend this spot also due to the very friendly and helpful staff. Even if it's super busy, like Sunday mornings, they try to accommodate and check up often. Wait staff is very nice but the food was not any good. My over easy eggs came out brown and hard. The potatoes were not the right ones and cold. About a minute after that the right potatoes came out cold so just sent it all back never to see anyone till the bill came. The girl has to many other tables. First time yesterday. Very good traditional breakfast fare. Enormous portions and very reasonable prices. Had biscuits/gravy, two eggs, hash browns and bacon and my wife pancakes. Normally don't eat like a pig and was stunned at the size of the dishes. We're used to Kung sized dishes when we visit Wyoming or Montana but not here. The menu looked pretty good and thought we would swing by for breakfast. I was looking for something healthy and ordered the Avocado Toast. It was served on wheat toast with 2 eggs in the style you wish. I don't have anything bad to say about the meal, but nothing to Rave about either. I've been there for breakfast, which was good, and I've been there for dinner (during that short time they tried opening for dinner in the evenings), which was just fair. No matter what, though, very overpriced. Nothing special to make me ever return. Their parking lot always looks busy in the morning hours, but I'm not sure why. For what it costs to eat a meal here, one could enjoy two meals almost anyplace else. read more
