My family and I visited Biscuits Cafe in Canby hoping for a relaxing breakfast, but overall the experience was disappointing. What went wrong: * The cleanliness was lacking: the floor was relatively dirty, and our table felt sticky. The bathrooms were especially gross and clearly in need of a cleaning. * The service was extremely slow -- it took over 45 minutes for food to arrive, which felt absurd since we were the only customers there. * The food execution was poor: * Biscuits & gravy were very bland. * The Hollandaise for the ham Benedict was "broken" (separated) and very watery, almost like soup. * The eggs weren't runny or cooked to expectation. * The front-of-house staff seemed disengaged -- not very attentive or proactive in seeing if we needed anything. What was okay: * My son enjoyed the hash browns. * My daughter liked the scrambled eggs (though bland), the sausage, and the orange juice. Overall, I came away feeling like this visit was far below what I've come to expect from a breakfast cafe. Got here at about 9:45 on Labor Day Monday. We were told it would be a wait of up to thirty minutes. No problem. Odd though because half the tables were empty just waiting to be bussed and wiped down...whatever. Got sat after about a twenty minute wait. We ordered our food and drinks. Drinks came out promptly. We waited for our food, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Another server noticed that our drinks were empty so she offered to refill. We asked her if she would mind checking on our food. A few minutes later our server comes over and says that she forgot to put our order in and that the kitchen was going to start making it now. So when I say that Biscuits Cafe has an amazing breakfast that will knock your socks off (footwear and shirts are required for service) then you better get your behind over there ASAP. If I had to mark down Biscuits for anything, I'd mark them down for their ambiance. Not because there is anything necessarily bad about their location, but I always seem to run in to people I'm not interested in sharing small talk with when I'm at their location. Perhaps it's because I'm a Canby native (go cougars), but I would really prefer if the hostess could possibly do some background checks on the other customers before I arrive to make sure I don't have any personal or professional history with any of them. Service is haphazard, exemplified by Andrea's condescending demeanor, as she not only revealed herself sexually, but she denied me safety by refusing to carry my concern of harassment to the person dogging me with negativity and, quite frankly, racism. I asked for assistance with the situation, and after a kind stranger paid for my meal, I noticed continuation of the aggressive behavior towards me from the person harassing me. I asked for assistance again, and with a hint of hatred in her eyes, towards something or another, at least, she yelled, "you're safe!" Followed by other dismissive language. I asked for assistance again, and she sent me out of the establishment. I can't stress enough the seemingly positive environment's effect on my well being, as the food improves it, and the service doesn't, leading to a confusing, 'maybe,' experience. I recommend a split from Dennys financially, so the positives of the business can continue to make the community and the world a better place. Also, I wouldn't work there. The smell is flat. I am told the owners change the gravy recipe without consideration of franchise consistency. I used to love this place now it is disgusting. If you like a handful of spice in watered down flour than this is for you! Not to mention paying $17.00 and not being told about the new Nasty gravy being made. We (2 adults & 2 kids) went here on July 4th, mainly because it was one of the few places open on the holiday. We hadn't been here for a long time and were pleasantly surprised. Our kids had pancake combo platters, I had fish and chips with a side salad and my wife had their brisket French dip with salad. We thought the menu had a lot of great options and it was hard to pick what to have. The pancake combos were great for the kids. They brought my son the wrong kind of eggs but quickly and politely remedied it. My greek vinaigrette dressing was great. My fish was really tasty, albeit a little greasy. My wife really liked her sandwich and salad, but felt that her ranch was a little chunky. She also noticed that the au jus had oil sitting at the top and it would have been nice if they spooned that layer out. Their prices were very reasonable, with the kids meals costing only $4.99. The bread on my sandwich was soggy and fell apart when trying to eat it. My daughter and I stopped in to Biscuits this past Saturday, and were very pleased with our meal. My daughter was hungry for pancakes, and after a big disappointment the week before at another local greasy spoon, we decided to see if Biscuits would deliver, and they came through -- they were fluffy and flavorful, and the bacon & eggs were good, too. We've determined that this is the best place in Canby to get pancakes (but there are better options in Mulino & Molalla). I was in more of a lunch mood, so I went with the club sandwich. It was a triple decker chock full of tasty ham, turkey, and bacon; and the lettuce & tomato were nice and fresh. I ate half the sandwich and all of my cole slaw, and took the rest home in a to-go box -- it made a great lunch the next day. This is our second visit to this location, and our third overall to a biscuits location; and for a chain restaurant, I'm quite impressed. read more

I took one bite and was repulsed. I hoped the coleslaw would be good, but that was also a bust. The coleslaw was clearly made from cabbage that was old. It had mold on the edges of it along with a few clumps of something slimy. The french fries were the only edible item in the meal. If I was served this meal in the restaurant I would have immediately sent it back. I love to support small businesses but am furious over the poor quality of food I received. Biscuits comes / Biscuits goes / biscuits is back again The food - good but sadly never great. The prices seem a bit high and the service seems a bit slow. If you can look past those two impediments, then it's probably a 4 star place. I had the cinnamon roll french toast. I felt like the sides of the roll were kind of bleh and the middle could have used some more batter. Not being a fan of eggs, I got hash browns - extra crispy - and while I'm not generally a fan of hashbrowns, these were actually very good. The bacon was spot on. The wife had the florentine benedict and thought it was quite tasty - I'll have to take her word on it (as I still am not a fan of eggs). Oh how I wish I could have traded in the eggs for just one more slice of bacon at the same price, but no.... that's not allowed. sigh. read more

Stopped there for a late breakfast about 10:30 am today. There were plenty of tables available so sat at a booth. After a while, the waitress took our order. Waiting, I asked for the WiFi password and she gave it to me but it was wrong. The food came and my son's order was wrong. In the meantime, two waitresses were both at the cash register trying to put in a new tape i think , so we were left to wait to correct our order. The food was ok but not hot. I felt they ignored us most of the time or took their time to correct the order. I would like to give theme a better rating bc I want to support local businesses but I have to be honest. I'm wondering what happened... These folks used to be a really great little cafe. We are two for two in one week of meh breakfasts. The food tastes very institutional and made as if it were a chore and not sonething meant to be tasty. This morning's meat lover scramble reminded me so much of that I had to look around and make sure I wasn't back in the Navy in the chow hall, the only thing that made me doubt it was the coffee was so weak there was no way it was the Navy. For $18.00 ($4 tip) I can definitely do better elsewhere. I'm not sure but I'm thinking I'd rather eat at Dennys next time at least I'd not be disappointed. read more

I love visiting Biscuits Cafe for breakfasts whenever I'm visiting Canby. The waitstaff is always super friendly and attentive, the food is always hot and fresh, and I always leave with a smile on my face. Prices on the menu are more than fair, and the coffee is piping hot and plentiful. I seem to go between the Chocolate Chip Pancakes and the Florentine Benedict here, and for good reason. They are both delicious! If lunch fare is more your speed, they also have many burger/sandwich/salad type options. Next time I visit I am going to have a breakfast burrito! Can't wait! read more
