Roasted Salmon Salad with Crispy Shitake and Warm Lentils
    Jill D.

Biscotti's is a favorite of mine and I have never been disappointed. Their chicken salad sandwich is the best in town and it's hard to order anything else. The grapes, pecans, and havarti dill cheese make it extra flavorful. Today I went with the Salmon Salad with crispy shitake and warm lentils and marinated tomatoes over field greens and it was amazing. My friend had the Goat Cheese Salad - Warm Pumpkin Seed Crusted with berries over field greens and that was amazing as well. I've never ordered dessert here, but always do marvel at the dessert case. I'm not sure how I have passed it up. Brunch is particularly nice here on the weekend. It helps to have a reservation, as it is a popular spot. It also helps to visit during non peak hours. In nice weather, the outdoor tables (there are only a few) provide a European feel. Service is always excellent.

Salmon BLT - thick, stale bread

Pretentious and overrated. I wanted to like this place - it has such a hype. But the food is terrible. The burger is greasy/wet, it is drenched in a bland cheese sauce, the meat is underseasoned, and the patty has no sear. Definitely not worth anything near the $21 cost. The salmon BLT is served on bread that is cut so thick you're mostly just eating old/stale bread, and the sandwich is also greasy. Their french fries come drenched in a disgusting garlic oil and cheap grated parmesan. It's bad cooking dressed up to look fancy without any understanding of the basics. The restaurant fits as well. Its ugly artwork is accompanied by furniture that looks like it was ripped out of a Le Pain Quotidien. The cakes look amazing, and the bar is nicely designed and well stocked, but neither saves the drab surrealist-cafeteria vibe of this pretentious establishment.

My default place for a consistently delicious experience. I went for brunch this time. It was quite busy, but we found a seat outside easily. We went on a Sunday morning and the foot traffic outside was not too much at all. Our table was well kept. Service was great, food was yummy, coffee was perfect (they do offer milk alternatives, my cappuccino was with oat milk). I always recommend this place!

Dessert man explaining the desserts very nice. I think they just need a sign on them, though. We took out. One piece of the tropical cake was $14.50 The cake is amazing. Super moist and fresh. Worth every penny of $14.50. The place was packed. People eating dinner and taking out dessert. Ambiance was loud but pretty. Very nice.

Biscottis is such a sweet neighborhood restaurant and I feel so grateful to have it here in Avondale. Want to grab a cake to go? Want to people watch and have a cocktail? Want to have a dinner date? This is the place for all! We love getting the pizza here but last time I ordered the scallop special and ate EVERY bite. Service is 10/10- I always greatly appreciate the servers here. Thank you Biscottis for being you!

Biscottis desserts are always delicious. My coworkers and I always grab lunch here together weekly.

The food here is absolutely delicious. As you approach the entrance, you're welcomed by the outdoor seating area. Inside, you're immediately greeted by the dessert counter, with the hostess to your right. I love the dimly lit ambiance that gives the perfect setting to enjoy your meal. One of my weaknesses is bread, and Biscotti's has the best mozzarella bruschetta. It's an absolute must-try when visiting, along with the salmon BLT. I always pair mine with sweet potato fries. I'm also a big fan of the Ortega Signature Pizza. Everything is consistently flavorful and satisfying.

We had Saturday morning brunch at Biscottis in the heart of Avondale. This was our third or fourth time there and I'm reasonably sure we've always been during breakfast / brunch hours. I had the Steak & Eggs. I asked for scrambled eggs, medium rare steak and smoked cheddar grits. The eggs were great and I knew I liked their grits so the question mark was the steak. The medallions were a good size and quality plus the cook temp was perfect. I've tried a few things for their brunch menu but this will probably be my go-to from here out. My wife ordered the Vegetarian Quiche and picked the Apple & Sage Chicken Sausage Links for her side. I'd tried their Quiche Lorraine previously and loved it, so I assumed she'd like the vegetarian version. She did. She REALLY loved it. We didn't get home until 8pm or so but she must've said "Wow...I REALLY liked that quiche!" about 10 times randomly throughout the day and maybe two more times after we got home. If there's any sort of chicken sausage on a menu, she's going to order it so she liked that as expected. Avondale is one of a few areas we don't eat in enough because we're always expecting a parking battle. Whenever we go somewhere like Biscottis, we're reminded that the meal is worth the parking effort.

Took my best friend here for her birthday brunch. Service was good and the restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. The waitress was friendly and attentive as well. It was pretty noisy during brunch time but the noises didn't bother us! The area was clean too. I would suggest you do a reservation because it does get crowded. We had the Brie cheese, toasted baguette, and garlic gloves appetizer. It was really good! Really liked the fruity flavors of the jam and it went well with the warm Brie, toasted garlic, and bread. The bread was warm and fluffy and we loved the roasted garlic on top. The garlic was roasted perfectly and spread like a dream! We had the house quiche and house burger. The quiche was delicious and the flavors were so jam packed into the quiche. It came with a side and my best friend chose bacon. Bacon was perfectly crisp and fried to perfection. I had the house burger and did not enjoy it. It was soggy from the aioli and the bun fell apart. It had so many flavors going on and I tasted mostly tart and sour than anything. The dressing on the arugula was the culprit and to me, it was way too tangy for the burger. I would not get the burger again. I got the fries and they were hot, crispy, golden, and tasted great! We also got German chocolate cake Togo and the cake tasted great (chocolate, pecans, and coconut flakes) but it was dry in some areas. The areas with a lot of frosting weren't dry and it tasted divine and not too sweet. Overall, we would come back again but probably try other things. It wouldn't hurt to try this place out! They had lots of desserts too and I heard the bread pudding was divine!

Some restaurants surprise you with one great dish. Others deliver a memorable experience from start to finish. Our visit to Biscottis in Jacksonville's Avondale neighborhood managed to do both. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated immediately, and the atmosphere had a welcoming energy that made the restaurant feel like a true neighborhood gathering place. Susan ordered the Quiche Lorraine, and after the first bite we both knew it was something special. The crust was delicate and buttery while the filling was rich and perfectly balanced. It was so impressive that we awarded it our Culinary Duo Best of the Best dish recognition, which is something we reserve for truly standout dishes. Peter went in a different direction and ordered the Sweet Potato Pancakes with house made white cheddar hash browns. The pancakes were flavorful and comforting, and the hash browns were crispy with bold cheddar flavor that made them impossible to stop eating. Another thing we appreciated was learning that Biscottis carries the Slow Food First Coast Snail of Approval, recognizing restaurants that support sustainable agriculture and local food traditions. The service throughout the visit was cheerful and attentive, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. If you enjoy restaurants that combine great brunch dishes, incredible desserts, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere, Biscottis is definitely worth visiting.

Sweet staff, great atmosphere, amazing food! Not too strong of flavors, they know what they are doinggg. Espresso martinis are good. Salted caramel mocha slice is my fav. Brownie is a go to as well, classic. Love it here!

We dined in without a reservation and were seated promptly. We made it in time for the happy hour specials and enjoyed the tater tots most of the bunch. They were crispy with a lightly spicy dipping sauce. The sandwiches came on beautifully soft bread. The burgers were okay but the fried zucchini sandwich was exceptional although the cheese wasn't as hot as it could have been so it wasn't melty. The risotto was well cooked and nicely portioned. The salad was large and the cauliflower soup was topped with a cranberry butter that stood out. Our server was kind and attentive despite the busy restaurant. Overall we enjoyed the experience and would dine in again

This place has been in my list for a while. Some friends and I decided to visit for brunch to celebrate a birthday. We had reservations and was seated promptly. Our waitress was awesome and made great recommendations. I settled on a half portion of the crème brûlée French toast and it was amazing. No syrup needed. The house made sausage was well seasoned. My friend decided on the omelette with gross and hash browns cake. The grits were great and the hash brown cake was to die for. Um fortunately she returned the omelette as it was not seasoned well. My other friend went for the steak and eggs and she enjoyed it immensely.

It was a little bit of a drive away, near the beach, and there was absolutely no parking on a Friday night. My husband dropped me off and circled while I placed a few to go orders. It was a cute little shop with donuts, shakes, and ice cream. The donuts are not traditional donuts; more like deep fried donut holes that are covered with all kinds of yummy toppings. They're also served nice and hot and in 10 packs. They had lots of cool donut flavors like: Dark Delight, Maple Bacon, , White Tella, and Love U Matcha, The prices range from $8.75 to $9.50 per box. They all sounded yummy; but we decided on Twix Fix, drizzled with caramel, melted chocolate, and cookies, and Lotus Crunch, which was topped with melted Biscoff cookies. Our order was ready in about 5 minutes and the bag of donuts was nice and warm. We ate them when we got back home. They were more chewy and heavier than regular donut holes, but rich and delicious. You could really only eat a few; so a box of 10 is a decent sized dessert for 2 people to share. Lukumades is definitely a very unique donut experience and worth supporting because they're not a huge chain. You'll be glad you tried them....and its worth the drive.

I was introduced to Funnel Cake Queen thanks to Yelp- I got to have a funnel cake sundae for FREE!!! And 2 days later- I went back to try another! Don't judge me! I love baked goods more than ice cream, or ice cream complimenting something else- like pie. So a funnel cake with ice cream is perfect for me! Gives me the "cake" body with ice cream too! I tried the Big Banana Split with the ice cream on the side- whoa! 2 desserts- a funnel cake in all it's powdered sugar goodness and a banana split too! There was so much dessert I was stuffed and in a sugar haze when I left! John got the Chocolate Lovers the first time- with ice cream on the funnel cake- chocolate ice cream with mini-m&m's & a mound of whipped cream. He too- sugar coma. Then on the return I went with the caramel apple and got it on the funnel cake this time and John went with the Oreo Crush with ice cream on the side. Breakdown- ice cream on the cake- great crash of flavors and textures, but if you don't eat quickly enough- the melting ice cream will make the cake soggy. On the side- it's not the eye candy of seeing the almost artistic creation of the funnel cake sundae, but- you can enjoy both on their own or still eat them together without the sogginess. You choose! But- you should totally go and pick a favorite to try!
