Had requested to keep it medium spicy and have eaten medium spicy version of the same Biryani earlier but today was just no flavor at all, just pure concentrated spices. Had around 14 guests and I had just ordered the biryani for 8-10 but still had throw away most of it as no one could eat more than 3-4 spoons. Open late during weekends, this place is a go to place for all youngsters; especially bachelors. One of the most addictive food places I have ever been to. Vijayawada Chicken Biryani is their top seller and our favorite too. The spicy masala is on the bottom with soft chicken pieces and Biryani rice is on the top. When you mix them appropriately and start eating, you will not realize when the box goes empty! Not even kidding. It's most unique biryani I have ever tasted. Their appetizers are delicious too. Went here last Saturday 12/18/2022. Went on a friends recommendation that this place serves original Hyderabadi biryani. We ordered veg hyderabadi biryani and chicken hyderabadi biryani. For veg hyderabadi biryani they served us flavored rice with potatoes and carrots. no other veggies or gravy to be found. for Chicken biryani, chicken was too hard to chew and no masala too. I love Indian food but am new to the biryani game. I've previously had Biryaniz after a couple of coworkers picked up some biryani plates there, and I enjoyed whatever I had at the time. Since Biryaniz made a good impression on me, I figured I'd get biryani from there again. I placed a phone order for pickup. I called right when the restaurant opened and was kindly greeted. The employee on the other line had no issues with placing my order and set the expectation of when I should swing by up my order (~15-20 minutes). I showed up 15 minutes from our call, and I was pleased to find that my food was ready to go. In case I dined in for next time, I noted that the restaurant was small but looked very clean. I had shrimp biryani and a side of chili paneer. The chili paneer was great. Definitely different flavor palette than the biryani and was less spicy. The shrimp biryani hurt so good! It was a lot spicier than how I remembered, and I have a very high tolerance for spicy food. I still liked it though, and the shrimp pieces were huge. Warning: Be mindful of where you place your takeout order. I placed the takeout bag on my passenger seat. Somehow the oil from inside the container soaked the bottom of the paper bag. Not sure how this happened, because my food didn't tip over. Could've been mishandling on the restaurant's or my end. Either way, I had quite the mess to deal with! Without any doubt, it's the best pani puri you can get in Bay area. During the evenings of Friday and weekends, this place offers authentic Indian style serving of pani puri with each puri readily stuffed(with hot yellow peas curry), filled with pani and served right into your plate. It is also completely neat and hygienic. That said, the only downside is long lines. Hit the place early in the evening or late at night(open until 11:30 PM) to avoid standing in line. Coming to the regular food, we always went for take out as the place is really small. Biriyanis are always the best. We tried Vijayawada Chicken Biryani, Paneer Biriyani, Egg Biryani and have been ordering from this place consistently for almost an year now. However, it's not the best place for starters. I've visited this place few times , but I had completely bad experience last Sunday. I ordered 2 goat biriyanis and a chilly chicken all this for take out. Chilly Chicken - 2.5/5 Chilly chicken was extremely spicy the reason behind this is they've added so much siricaha sauce not the actual spices. For making chilly ,In traditional South Indian style they deep fry the small cubic pieces of chicken with thin layer of marination and then the deep fried chicken will be tossed up with Manchurian sauce/inhouse sauce. So much bell peppers instead of chicken. Goat Biriyani - 1/5 When it comes to hydrebadi dum Biriyani the meat should be tender (because of the slow cooking process and the they should have a bed of masala and layer of meat and then layer of rise) but here the entire biriyani was completely dry and there is no such thing like masala and meat was extremely dry and hard Will never go back to this place. read more

Their Amaravathi Paneer and Vijayawada Paneer biryanis have gone from great to super bad in a matter of years. I used to love their vegetarian and paneer biryanis but not anymore. No social distancing whatsoever at this place. I ordered take out and there were no markings to stand 6 ft apart outside where pickup line forms. Most people had pre-paid for their order, so why can't they put an order ready e-sign with a number or name so people don't flock the entrance like crazy and only go to the counter when they are called or are paying for the order.
