We ordered take out from this place a few weekends ago. It was one of those large takeout orders that the Indian community in Marin places at a restaurant far away and because of the size of the order, it gets delivered all the way out here. Anyway, we had ordered a gobi Manchurian, samosa, hara bhara kebab, malai kofta, naan and gongura paneer. Let's start with the pick-up. The delivery person was completely disorganized as were all the orders. They were not labeled clearly and they weren't packed correctly. He had no idea what people had ordered, so we literally stood there at the delivery van and told him each thing in our order while he rummaged through the van looking for each individual dish!!! There were at least 15 orders that needed to be sorted through. With this chaos, you can imagine that things were missed. We didn't get the gongura paneer we ordered!! I suppose we would have felt all of this would have been okay if the food lived up to our expectations, but it did not. The samosa was okay-not amazing, but not bad. The hara bhara kebab was nothing like what it was supposed to be. It was burnt to a crisp, so I can't say anything about the flavor beyond the taste of carbon. The gobi Manchurian was okay. Nothing amazing, just okay. The malai kofta tasted fine (probably the only really flavorful thing about the entire meal), but the naan was so hard we could barely break it apart. I really don't like writing bad reviews and I am all about supporting local businesses, but this was just so poorly managed and for the first time in a long time, I really felt like we had wasted our time, energy and money. Definitely not ordering from here again. read more

Ordered gongora chicken and ghee goat roast biryani and both were quite tasty. We have been here twice and the staff is quite friendly. The sad part was that they don't make junnu anymore. The family pack is economical and delicious. Would get chicken biryani the next time we crave for one. read more

This place was in my radar for while ever since it start showing up in yelp searches. Recently picked up Biriyanis from here - Lamb and Natukodi Biriyanis. To be fair, they were good. Adequate quantity, taste good and spice level was decent I would say. Asked for a mild/medium Lamb, but what we got was a little spicy. While it tasted good, there was too much oil in the Biriyanis. Meat was not proportional to rice as well. Lamb biriyani was just Lamb curry + rice - even they packed it that way. The curry was delicious though. I placed the yelp ordered, showed around 25 mins for pick up. The food was ready when I arrived. Pick up was smooth, social distancing enforced and they need customers to wear mask as well. This is based on just this pick up order. There are plenty more on their menu to try out. Will try other things and update the review may be later. read more

During the planning process, we clearly communicated our headcount and were assured that enough food would be provided to comfortably serve everyone , ensuring there would be no shortages. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. Several dishes ran short, and one of the appetizers, the chili paneer, was of extremely poor quality and was difficult to chew. Many guests commented on the condition of the food. What was even more disappointing was how the situation was handled. When my husband called to request additional food because the portions provided were significantly less than what had been promised, one of the owners unexpectedly arrived at our private event without prior notice. He proceeded to count attendees to verify our guest count, which was both inappropriate and disruptive. We felt this was an unacceptable intrusion into a private event. To make matters worse, extra appetizers that had been ordered were removed rather than replenished, and servers were reportedly instructed not to refill trays. During the event, we were also pressured to make immediate payment and were told that lunch service would not continue unless payment was made on the spot. This created unnecessary stress and embarrassment during what should have been a special occasion. And while carrying empty dishes with him on his way back, he hided the left over appetizers underneath them and took it back to the restaurant. Overall, the food quality, portion management, professionalism, and customer service fell far below expectations. Based on our experience, I would not recommend their catering for any private events. My above review was posted on 06/16. FYI, Earlier this evening (06/17), his management and he personally made phone calls begging us to delete it as this could tarnish their reputation to earn more business.

5 Stars - A Housewarming Hit! We just hosted our housewarming party and ordered a spread from Biryani Junction - and let me tell you, it was an absolute hit! From the moment we placed the order to the last delicious bite, everything was fantastic. The food was truly amazing. I recently visited Biryani Junction and was very impressed with their butter chicken. The flavors were bold and the spices really stood out. Their tandoori chicken was also very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The only disappointment was the biriyani, which was quite expensive but lacked the same level of flavor as the other dishes. We did phone ordered and told that it will take 15 mins, but after 35 mins I went restaurant and it was not ready. Still asked me to wait for another 5 to 10 mins, being weekdays the wait time is horrible. And ulavacharu paneer biryani is not great, the paneer is so hard. Also, I almost forgot to mention -- she gave me a complimentary bread halwa, which was a nice surprise. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the spice level. The food was very spicy -- a bit too much for the average person -- and it seems like they don't customize the spice levels based on customer preference. Other than that, no complaints at all! Biryani Delight is definitely a good spot to check out.

Have seen them start in Fremont grocery store "Dana Bazaar", I think mom-daughter duo in a corner serving daily grocery shoppers. Now they have been running their own eatery for decades in Newark/Ardenwood. A very casual ambience, self service types and tucked in corner of a quaint strip mall..plenty of parking and they take last order at 7.30 pm before closing out at 8pm. Call ahead and place order if you are running late ...we had to do that once. Definitely worth trying if you are craving that tasty and quality Pani puri (Gol Guppe), tad pricey compared to other places. Ordered Pani puri and dahi puri and wasn't busy on a weekday evening.

Freshly made, rich, and indulgent. For the mains, I tried their Kachi Biryani (available only on Fridays), and my husband ordered the fish dopiaza with polao. The biryani was hands down the best dish of the night--succulent goat pieces, fragrant and flavorful rice, mildly spiced, and perfectly balanced. It was pure comfort food. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the fish curry as well and said it was very delicious and authentic. Overall, the food was amazing, and the service was good too. I love their version of butter chicken and the Hyderabad mixed vegetable korma (a dish I always order if I can find it). Garlic naan was also delicious. Will be back to try more of the breads and dishes. I've gotten takeout a few times and when I have more time, will be sure to dine in. Update: Dined in a week later for lunch and tried the tandoori chicken and bagara baingan. Excellent!
