Good place to get rotis if you are like us or missing rotis from home. I love their gulab jamun. Other things are just mediocre

This place can be very frustrating. You can sign up for their daily WhatsApp menu and offers. They send an offer that says with a 2 item combo for $8.99 you can get 2 gulab jamuns included. Nowhere on the flyer does it specify weekday only. When you go to redeem the offer of course they make up the rules as they go. They cannot explain why the flyer does not mention anything about weekdays only. Its a small thing but it is super annoying and its shady. Also I have gone on a weekday (the day they sent the message). When I got to the counter the guy said that promotion is not available when I told him the message came a few hours earlier. Then he looked on his phone (maybe he did not believe what he saw on my phone) then refunded me the extra dollar he had charged me and gave me the gulab jamuns. When I told him its not ok for them to overcharge and not honor their posted specials he said, "I can't just give it to everyone who orders." Can someone explain to them how a special works and what the meaning of the word fraud is? The daily WhatsApp message also sends you the menu for the day. But don't believe it because every time I have tried to go by their morning menu they say at least 1 of the items on the menu was never made that day. Why put an item on the daily menu if you are not making it. And if it was an error (EVERY TIME) then send a message to clarify. The picture for the menu is different every week so they are able to edit it. The food in the precooked stuff is ok if you are starving. It is very salty (sometimes to the point of inducing nausea) and they pour chilli into the food so it is almost dangerous. I am used to spicy food but this is ridculous. There have been multiple times when I had to throw the food away when I got home because it was inedible. Their Chaat items are a little better because they make it to order when you order. They screwed up on Chutney nowadays. Earlier they used to have kind of fresh. They have taken customers as granted. Even after many people complained, that is it. Which is anyway good. We will have opportunity to explore Apni Mandi, Satvik Dhaba and nearby India Metro Hypermarket. read more

This place is gone bad from worse. Management only thinks that by doing whatsapp marketing they will win over competition. Don't care about food quality or availabilty. Curries are overloaded with sat, turmeric, chapatis are half cooked, snacks smells of dirty overused oil. They send text every day that they are open till midnight but Curries get over by 5-6 PM. And after that only snacks are available. No wonder that their competition is doing so much better. Bye Bye !! read more

This place is inside India Cash n Carry supermarket in Fremont & part of their food hall. We usually stop here for a quick chaat or sweet while finishing up our weekly groceries and absolutely love using that as a reason to keep coming back ;) Their samosas and chaats are delicious with generous portions. Paneer paratha came with BIG block of butter (as parathas should :P) and tasted pretty standard. Spring roll was not my favourite, probably cause it wasn't hot or fresh?! The meethi boondi also did not feel freshly made, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it lol! I visit often just for their samosas and chaats, otherwise I wouldn't go out of the way to come give this place a try. read more

I got dosa there . My kid and my friend both got sick. They had very bad stomach upset symptoms just like stomach flu . I don't know about other parts of the restaurant but the dosa place probably gave me old batter dosa or old chutneys / sambar that day which is bad. read more

This place has only one counter to pay. It's a huge bottleneck. How does one run a business when all parts of the restaurants are free and all lines are at the counter? These guys can get more business if they do little process improvement by just adding another cash counter. It really sucks that they have such a huge line always. I don't go here anymore. Got the hara Bhara paratha here. It was pretty good. It's very flavorful. Consists of paneer and I believe potato as well. I went here for lunch and two people In front of me had also ordered this. It was heavy on the ajwain which was a bit too potent for my taste. I wasn't a fan of the boondi raita. It had a sweet taste to it which means they had added sugar. I ordered party tray of gobi sabji and it was smelling bad and when I told them, the lady behind the counter first kept me waiting for very long time then she said I am making up stories as I want refund. We recently got two Paneer dishes from Rasoi express and it was very bland. It looked like they added paneer pieces to the water. The paneer dishes were supposed to be different but both tasted same in the same liquidy water except for the minor difference of bell peppers in one dish. This is the best place for samosas! Whenever I went to parties (pre-COVID), I would get the cocktail samosas from here. Very reasonably priced and the green sauce is so spicy and delicious. Highly recommend the samosas. Have not tried much else from here. read more

I ordered the dal makhani and 2 laccha paratha combo. And 1 order of samosa pav. Samosas were stale beyond recognition. Dal makhani was not dal makhani it was just plain black dal. Laccha paratha was not a laccha paratha but some sweet tasting bread barely holding itself together, also stale. Some staff were wearing masks, some were wearing it below there nose, and some were not wearing it at all, especially the cook at the back. Absolutely horrible food. Never ordering again. These guys are crooks! We ordered take out, items were Chole, Somosa, and Paneer Roll. When we reached home with our food, we did not see Paneer Roll. So, we called them, they did not pick up the phone. We drove 5 mile back to get the item. Once we reached there, they said that they had run out of the item, so they did not pack it. They never informed us when we picked up our order, nor did they pick up our phone call. They were very rude and unprofessional. They refunded the money but wasted our time. I don't know what 95% of the stuff is but it all taste delicious --- except the fried dough ball stuff. That's like a see's candy box.. total hit or miss and for me mostly misses. However their mini samosas are the best. I usually get 30 and the kids eat it into the next day. I tell them no mint sauce though- it's damn spicy even for me. My favorite dish is the jackfruit dish from the deli side. I think that is usually Wednesdays or something. But really all their curries and veg dishes are really delicious. Chaat-- I love chaat and they're super fast here so recommend these too. My fav is the masala chaat or the pav baji(the balls you crack and fill yourself) They do party trays too. Their food is great! A life saver whenever guests come, they really love the authentic Punjabi foods and so do we. I think they put ghee but overall it's not as greasy as in many others restaurants. I placed an order for delivery at 6 pm on their website for a delivery scheduled at 645. Rotis, paneer curry and another veg curry. We were called at 630 asking for a replacement of the veg curry. Despite of being a delivery order, since they never showed up and not answering calls, I had to drive to pickup my order at 8 pm where my order was just sitting on the counter and was given excuse that there was no delivery driver. Like they couldn't inform that until I DROVE to them after an hour of scheduled delivery. While delay of delivery itself was the stupid thing, the curry we were told they'd replace wasn't replaced and I had to end up with just one curry. I'm visiting in Fremont, and because her appt was longer than expected, she encouraged me to find something to eat! So I drove around until I found Indian Cash and Carry, and in the back, the Xpress! Lots of carry out business, and I saw someone with a pani puri take out... I had no idea how to order it, but a guy in line told me exactly what to get: sev puri. 12 crispy ball, hollowed out, filled to order with some beans, then sauced with yogurt (ask for it), chutneys, curries, onions, cilantro. It was so delicious. I've had chaat before, but not this one. I can't wait to go back for the roti: the guy who helped me order the puri said their roti's are really good, esp. the fresh ones, so I'm coming back soon. I get curries from here often and I really like the food. I find weekday late afternoons the best, avoids the lunch crowd. Their channa masala and kadhi pakoda are very good. What's not to love about the snacks here. Our favorites are the cocktail samosas, kachori and paneer triangles. Their fresh gulab jamuns and rasgulla are very much responsible for the pounds we never lose, but we can't help ourselves.
