Love this venue. All the staff members are friendly. You can grab a bite to eat from Gus's World Famous Chicken, which is right next door, and take into the brewery and enjoy your food with one of their beers or kombucha teas. I was sorry to hear one of my favorite staff members, Tyrese, has moved to Pensacola. He will definitely be missed. There is always something going on at BDB. The bar is airy and inviting but for the industrial bar stools...they are super uncomfortable, but they do have other seating available. read more

You can subscribe to their website to learn more. Today I am attending a glass blowing class which I found out about through their newsletter. I really enjoy their Irish Stout and their Ocktoberfest. I also found out today that they offer non-alcoholic beers. Great for people who want to enjoy the party, but don't want to drink. read more

Was able to stop in while waiting for takeout order from Gus's World FamousChicken next door. The bartender immediately made some great suggestions and I got the Undead and Unbothered Sour! Another successful visit to BDB! The staff here is always so friendly and ready to assist. I thoroughly enjoyed what was likely the last of their Oktoberfest tap before its tapped out. It was in a cute mug too! It was quite enjoyable. I also had their glacial drift, which is a very lighter IPA. Tasty and very drinkable, if you don't typically lean toward IPAs. I highly recommend checking out BDS for some great local beers if you enjoy/appreciate craft beers. There's something for all beer drinking styles. read more

You can bring your own food. I do believe that this is the best brewery in Birmingham. Unpretentious and no agenda. The bartenders are always knowledgeable about the beer and are eager to answer questions. Sitting outside is always available because you are covered. read more

Omgggggg the beers here are SO good and I literally have like 1-2 alcoholic beverages a year because I don't even like booze!! But wow. Wow. Wow. They have a great assortment of fruity sours which are exactly what I like - sour, sort of sweet, but not too sweet. I ordered The Big Squeezy which is coconut, peach, and orange. My mom got the Lanai which is pineapple and mango. Both were absolutely fabulous and you can't go wrong, but I think the Lanai has the slight edge. The service was wonderful, so friendly. Also, they have N64 games and board games here so it's a fun spot to hang out. read more

The District was the last stop on the Birmingham brewery tour. Nine pints in I was feeling it and it was at last time to call that Uber and go back to the Hotel. Despite being inebriated, I enjoyed this last stop as much as I had some of the other places I went. The District was busy and the most bustling of all the breweries hit that evening. I think because it's located much closer to the urban sprawl and downtown Birmingham. A solid space and a outdoor area that scream sit down and tip a few pints are the highlights of the District. The bar keeps were also quite lively as well. Lively people behind the bar always makes for a better visit wherever you are. I ordered a couple pints and they were both good! An IPA and a stout that were as delicious as they come made for a success of a visit. I'd come back here in a heartbeat if ever in the area. The Birmingham, Bama beer scene is a lively one and I enjoyed the Districts offerings! read more

This is a fun spot! We stopped in here when we were visiting from out of town for a few beers. It was great to see their COVID precautions throughout and everyone working there was wearing masks properly. Way to go! I really like the indoor/outdoor space here. The outdoor space is bigger than you'd expect and the lights make the environment super cozy. Everyone in general is really laid back here, which makes the perfect atmosphere for sipping on some weekend brews. I got the Birmingham Pilsner and it was exactly what I was expecting. They go down TOO smooth haha. My husband got the Lose Your Way IPA - New England . It's one of his favorite beers actually. He said it is just a great tasting beer all around with no negatives. The have a bunch of other solid brews to choose from too if you're looking for something totally different. Best part about this brewery? It's pet friendly! Both times we've come here we've seen furry tails waggin' around and that instantly puts a smile on my face... well anyone's really c'mon :) Overall this a chill brewery to hangout at in normal times. They also have a cool logo/apparel and we ended buying some sweatshirts. High quality material too. Great experience all around. Keep it up! read more

Birmingham District Brewing was one of the breweries I hadn't heard much about when I first moved here, and I am not sure why because they make amazing beers. They have a more limited menu, with usually 6-8 brews on tap at any given time. BUT the ones that they do have on tap are A+ in terms of taste and quality. My favorite thing about District is that they always have an assortment of beer varieties on tap. I find that at other local breweries you can mostly find IPAs and sours only, but at District they always have a rotating selection of lagers, pilsners, wheat beers, brown ales, etc., in addition to some very delicious IPAs and sours. One of my go-to's is their Lose Your Way NE IPA which is super fruity and hazy, my favorite style of IPA. If you're looking for food, they are located right next door to Gus' Fried Chicken and Wasabi Juan's which are both delicious options. There is plenty of parking around the area, though the parking lot itself is quite small. It is definitely a smaller brewery, but we've never had an issue finding seating there (there is both indoor and outdoor seating). They also have trivia on Wednesdays which is super fun! The bartenders are so nice and helpful. If you've never been to District, I highly recommend a visit. read more

After several visits to this brewpub I have to say they keep getting better. When they first opened they only produced one stout which was excellent. Now they have 4-5 excellent dark beers a Belgian bourbon barrel aged triple the Guilded Lady, a chocolate hazel nut stout Hazel Night, a barrel aged Imperial Winter Stout, and the Oak Mountain Brown Ale. I hope they keep these beers year round. They are the only ones I will drink. They have a great outside area and Gus's Chicken is next door so you can have your beer and eat food too. One thing I don't care for much is when they have a band it can get quite loud especially if they aren't that great. For some reason if they are inexperienced they crank the volume up till you cant hear anyone talk. I like what they are doing with craft beer except the IPA's. One day people will realize the hops were put in beer as a preservative not a flavouring. read more

This is a newer brewery added to the Birmingham scene in late 2018. It is located in the redone Battery area where there is now a Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken and a Wasabi Juan's. They also have a small courtyard area for cornhole next to the parking lot. I like the trendy design and decor, although it is rather small inside. Parking can also be a challenge in the lot, but you can find street parking around. Beer wasn't bad-I had the Red and New England IPA and my wife had the wheat ale; my favorite was probably the wheat. I noticed that there was a video game system hooked up to the TV on the Saturday night we went; would love to come back and game out on a not so busy day and stay longer.
