Today we got a chicken Cesar wrap (which I've also got on sale during their happy hour with a happy hour dirty soda!) and it was delightful. Great filling and satisfying ratio of grilled chicken, lettuce, and dressing. A perfect lunch. They keep the restaurant pretty clean even when it's buzzing in there! I don't get the hype of this place. Food is mid. From what I heard they apparently have good chicken tenders, but I got their chicken sandwich and they flatten the heck out of it. you get more breading than actual chicken. The ambiance is weird. I ordered Birdcall recently and had a pretty mixed experience. The chicken tenders themselves were great -- super moist, well‑seasoned, and def the highlight of the meal. If I were rating the chicken alone, it'd be an easy 5 star review. The tater tots, though, were a letdown. I'm usually very easy to impress when it comes to tots, but mine tasted burnt and overseasoned, like they'd been left in the fryer too long. After checking other reviews (where the tots are basically legendary), mine looked noticeably darker than what people had posted, so maybe I just caught an off batch. Unfortunately, the ranch had that same burnt flavor, which didn't help. Ketchup didn't mask whatever flavor was going on with the tots. Everything seemed to make them worse, so I did not eat the rest of them. I did enjoy the Birdcall sauce -- great flavor, super solid pairing with the tenders -- but the containers are tiny. I ran out before I even finished my three tenders, which was frustrating given it was the only sauce I really liked, after spending the 0.60/sauce on 6 sauces -- again, only liking the one container of house sauce. Overall, the chicken was a win, but the sides and sauces need some consistency. I'd probably give it another try, due to the chicken and house sauce being delicious, but I'm hoping my next round of tots isn't so overdone. I love a good tot. read more

Tried the new location in Fort Collins after having enjoyed visiting Boulder several times. I got the extra spicy chicken sandwich and a slider. The sandwich wasn't particularly spicy and didn't have the best flavor. That sometimes happens when places try to make excessively spicy items. The chicken breast itself was good quality. The slider was a bbq one and I enjoyed it. Wife had gluten free nuggets on a salad. She commented that the chicken was good quality but the nuggets had no seasoning/flavor. The fries we added were very good. Birdcall has a lot of options and starts with good quality ingredients so it's just a matter of finding the items you like. We'll be back to try it again. My girlfriend and I have been on a chicken kick for a minute now. We have tried about every chicken joint in town. We have really been looking forward to Birdcall for the sole fact that they are an antibiotic-free/natural chicken based restaurant. I assume this equates to the price which is well worth a "$50 meal for 2". To get to the point, Birdcall is pretty good. The chicken is incredibly crispy, juicy and just good in general. I tried the house sauce, and this will be the reasoning for the 4/5 stars. The sauce containers are painfully small. I've never seen a sauce container that size. The sauce itself-- amazing such a good staple for this establishment. However, it's a chicken joint-- when sauce/seasoning is half the appeal, a thimble of sauce just doesn't cut it. I'm a sauce girly, I can't help it, maybe that makes me biased. Other than sauce-gate, I can't stress enough how I love that the focal point is natural chicken. It seemed like this place should have been so good, but the chicken was so incredibly salty that we will absolutely not return. My Asian Salad looked super fresh and delicious, but the saltiness of the chicken had my tongue so scalded I couldn't taste anything else. The chocolate chunk pretzel cookie also seemed good in theory, but then just tasted like a Chips Ahoy. It was also far more expensive than a mediocre fast food joint should be.
