I eat at this Birdcall location regularly and this was the first time I had a truly negative experience. Oil was spilt all over the carry out bag and my sandwich, which I was really excited to try for the first time. My boyfriend had oil dripped all over his pants from the sloppy assembly of the sandwich, it seems. It seemed like the drive through was in a hurry, but I'd rather they take their time than be send things out quickly and messily. Sad to say I'll be hesitant to visit again :( read more

So first, I'd like to say, Nathan, no I do not have to fight you lol. Nathan was amazing!! He told me the stuff on the rancher is delicious(the onion jam and ranch and bbq sauce, which I'm not a fan of onion nor bbq) and he was correct!! He also suggested the prickly pear soda, spot on!! So this place has the most delicious chicken sandwiches I've had to date. Had the Nashville Hot tonight and it was pretty hot for sure. Had the deluxe a few weeks ago and that one was amazing as well. The fries are excellent too. There should be a 4ft wall imo running along the drive thru as it's quite loud with passing cars when trying to place your order. The cashiers are always super polite and friendly. However, today while eating in, I watched one of the employees walking around cleaning drop her towel on the floor, pick it up, and proceed to go and wipe down tables and other surfaces that food comes in contact with. So it is very much like that "Fil-A" place (which I've never been that impressed with) but Birdcall sandwiches have much more flavor imho. I heard really great things about Birdcall. Went via drive thru for my first time. As soon as I got home realized they didn't even prepare one of the orders correctly. I ordered the Nashville Hot with southern coleslaw. When I got home there were no sweet butter pickle chips on the sandwich and minimal slaw. Close to $30 for two orders and no receipt in return. At least one order was correct... maybe next time I will go inside just in case there's another mishap. read more

Update to my previous review from when they recently opened: Last time I thought Chick-fil-A did it better. Well, that's still the case but Birdcall has improved. Raisin' Canes is also wayyy better. To start, if you go there late in the day, the sun is just brutal. As an architect, the design really bothers me because of this massive, unmitigated west facing sun. They have glass garage doors on the west side which make most of the interior space unbearable. No shading devices. Outside about half the seating is west facing. Still, most of the shading does not address this. Chicken Sandwich: This time I tried the caeser chicken. I was skeptical of caesar on a hot food but it was light and really good. The grilled chicken was sized well and grilled well. Still, it's really expensive compared to Chick-fil-a. I felt the parmesan crisp overpowered the sandwich so I ditched it. I also ditched the tomato. It'd be nice if they gave you a discount if you order no tomato (and parm crisp) as chick-fil-a does, I'm not sure if Birdcall does. Fries: still standard, better than McDs, but nothing to write home about. Drink: They no longer have that horrid key lime pie milkshake. I got the lite kola soft drink and I really liked it, the highlight of the meal. I like that you actually that it's cola-forward rather than sugar forward like other colas. Service: Still very poor. I didn't pay with a card so I had to order with a person and they seemed like they couldn't be bothered. Even worse, I think it was the manager-on-duty who took my order! If I recall correctly, it seems they've tried to bring down costs by using cheap plastic and paper containers. Going back to the chick-fil-a comparison, they use styrofoam, which 4 out of 5 experts agree is better than paper plus chick-fil-a utilizes single-stream recycling of the styrofoam cups and turns them into park benches. Overall they have made some improvements but I'm surprised they haven't done more. Thus they've improved from a low-2 to a solid 3. read more

I would say that the only downside to this place is the location. It's off of university so it is kind of hard to get into and there is minimal parking.
