Nice team to work with. Alton was responsive with the quote, and on moving day, Jordan and the crew were very easy to work with. Jordan, Jamison, Sergio, Chris, Juan, and Emanuel were total pros. They were patient when they needed to be. I'd say they were fast but careful. Would definitely recommend. read more

I love that Birch Circle offers plastic crates to help with moving without all the cardboard and plastic. And they rent blankets too. The crews are friendly and fast. Most recently Jordan, Jamison, Chris, Emmanuel, Anthony, and Jacob did an excellent job. read more

Birch Circle came highly recommended to us and they didn't disappoint. Alton was great to work with in getting our move scoped and scheduled. Jameson and his crew were awesome when it came to executing on moving day -- very professional, positive, and polite throughout. read more

Jamison and his moving crew were quite amazing. I hope I don't ever have to move again, but if I do, I would definitely hire these folks again. They went above and beyond to be kind to and considerate of each other, to be generous to us and to take care of our stuff so well. Highly recommend this company. read more

We just used Birch for an epic move from San Rafael to Fairfax. When I put out a call on the socials for a moving company that could handle a large, steep outdoor staircase (45 steps from carport to house), Birch came up a lot; I see why. Alton got in touch with me immediately after I left a VM, was out the next day to assess our stuff and the locations, gave us an accurate quote later that day, scheduled the move for the exact date we wanted, and called us the day after the move to check in. The movers themselves were an incredible set of guys; very nice, respectful of both homes and our stuff (I never once saw them bang into a wall or gouge a corner), efficient, and constantly checking with us about where and how to place things. We couldn't have asked for a better experience moving - an event we truly dreaded. I would 1,000% recommend Birch to anyone needing to move. They are licensed and bonded, so we didn'thave worries about that, and they were great people to deal with from start to finish. I especially want to thank Edgar (who led the troops) and his fantastic crew: Luis, Juan, Victor, Emmanuel, Christopher, and Randy. AWESOME JOB, GUYS - THANK YOU!!! read more

Thank you Birch Circle Movers for making our move so easy. From the estimate process, the communication and clarity leading up to move day and the professionalism and work ethic of the fabulous crew (Jameson, Randy, Jordan and Sergio), all went smoothly and stress free! This is my second move with Birch Circle Movers and I'm glad I called them again this time! read more

Luis, Jesus and Sergio from Birch Circle Movers did an amazing job moving our retail store from Anchorage Square to Russian Hill today on a rainy day at stressful and busy street locations. I was particularly concerned about moving two very large and heavy custom built wall fixtures as well as an overbuilt cash wrap. They could have easily said it was not possible, but they never complained or displayed any signs of doubt. They got the wall units off the wall despite some stripped screws holding them down and quickly were able to disassemble them to fit through the doors. When the cash wrap wasn't fitting through the entrance, they removed the door to get it to fit. They were very professional, efficient and kind. I truly valued their service and will use certainly use them again. read more

I've used Birch Circle several times for local moves and for storage. Edgar, Jordan and Jaminson expertly and efficiently handled my move. They were prompt, friendly, considerate and highly skilled. read more

If I could give more stars I would. Starting with Alton I got a very clear (and affordable) estimate for my move. Edgar and his team showed up early and prepared. When we found my items had been damaged in storage (rodents) they went above and beyond helping me document the mess and sort out where things needed to go. Chris the manager stopped by later to check in and make sure I was happy with everything. Start to finish a super helpful and professional company that made what could have been a horrible day pretty painless. Also great pricing. Thank you again!! read more

I reached to Birch Circle Movers late last week for a competitive bid. Their manner was professional, their response with a bid was quick (same afternoon), their availability for the move was immediate (Monday morning, 4 days later), and their bid was competitive, clean, and professional. I ended up selecting a different mover that I've worked with multiple times in the past. But had I not had that prior relationship, I would've been very comfortable going with Birch Circle Movers. I recommend. read more

Easy 5 stars, everything from scheduling, getting a quote, to moving was easy and honest, I felt like the quote was fair, and the end cost was within $200 of the quote, even though I was moving 1 hr away. Edgar, Jaminson, and Jordan showed up on time, worked efficiently, and carefully. They moved my one-bedroom apartment and all my furniture without damaging anything, wrapping everything in blankets. Overall, will definitely recommend them to anyone in Marin thinking of hiring movers. read more

I used Birch Circle Movers for my recent move. Their quote was reasonable and scheduling was easy. Edgar, Jamison, and Jordan were on time, polite, communicative, and efficient. They carefully wrapped all of my furniture and everything arrived undamaged. I will use them again! read more

We have been using Birch Circle for 10 years now for all of our moving needs. From bringing my grandmothers, China hutch to our home after she died, to moving back-and-forth between rentals and during a home renovation. They have been nothing but wonderful. Something special is that they use these reusable plastic boxes to pack all of your things and so there's not a lot of waste with the cardboard. When you are done unpacking, you simply pile up the plastic boxes and they come back and get them. It's amazing! They are friendly and kind and very responsive. Not to mention the logo on their trucks is really pretty. :-) Not that that matters. read more

I had a negative experience with Birch Circle when they packed up some of my belongings in May 2023 for a move. I see there are a number of positive reviews, and I'm glad other people had a positive experience but after thinking about it for a few months, decided to share my negative experience. I paid $300/hour for a crew of four to pack. Birch Circle added travel time for all four from San Rafael to Greenbrae (nearly an hour for the brief trip) and charged me for their lunch break time plus a few hundred dollars for use of their van to bring boxes over. To top it out, their crew was interested in some tools I had set aside for my handyman, and I said they could take a few. They took many of them, and that left a bad taste in my mouth because I asked them to take just a few. When I called to speak with the owner after several back and forth emails, he was unfriendly. I read positive things about him in other reviews--maybe he is a great guy and I did not present myself in the best way. Not sure, but I wouldn't hire them again. read more

We have used Birch Circle for our personal moving needs and they are simply exceptional. Very high quality service and really nice people - easy to work with. In addition, Birch Circle partners with our non-profit, Welcoming Home (welcominghome.org) to furnish the homes of the formerly homeless. They've been doing this for almost 9 years now. Exceptional, high quality service, plus community service - an unbeatable combination. I highly recommend them! read more

I've hired Birch Circle dozens of times over my 11 year career as a move concierge. They are fantastic! I've seen their team grow and expand over the years under Rick Aldridge's leadership, and they now take on more demanding clients' moves with grace. their team is top notch - the guys are courteous, efficient and professional. I appreciate partnering with them and know that my white glove clients are in excellent hands with them. read more

Contacted Birch Circle Movers after reading reviews on Yelp, so glad I did. Due to the Covid-19 situation they were able to give me an estimate after doing a FaceTime video tour of our apartment. The movers showed up on time the day of the move and went straight at it, They also provided wardrobe boxes for us to load our clothes from the closet into. They busted butt and got the trucks loaded and headed to the new location. The guys were very fast, efficient, and professional. Got the job done in half the time that was estimated and they only charge for the time that was used. Final bill was much lower than original estimate. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a mover. read more

We used Birch Circle to move my mom from a 3 bedroom home to a retirement community 1 br. Luis and Jésus did a terrific job. They did some packing of fragile objects and had to take apart and put back together a queen bed. It went very quickly and we were moved in much quicker than expected, with everything intact. They were very patient with my mom about placing the oriental rugs a couple of different times. All in all, a very positive experience. The guys answering the phone were very professional and pleasant too. Pricing was fair and reasonable. read more

I have used the many services of Birch Circle Movers on several relocation's. The team is always professional, fast, and sensitive to my clients needs. I recently had a project that needed to be completed in a very short time frame. Rikki and his team went above and beyond to get the job done within the strict time perimeters. Thank you Wonderful Team! I have worked with several moving companies and BCM are the best. I look forward to working with you again. read more

Best movers I've ever used in the Bay Area! After getting a few quotes they gave me the most reasonable quote that seemed to account for everything. They were on time, friendly, and FAST. Packed up my 3 bedroom in 4 hours or so. Moved everything neatly into my new location, which in fairness was a garage ... in about an hour. Can't recommend enough!! read more

These guys came highly recommended - wish I would have listened sooner. I'm on my second move this year, because I moved and now I'm moving out for a remodel. Yup, that means I have a third move in the near future; but I'm not scared because I have learned from my mistakes - you can too! WHAT I DID WRONG (1) I got my girlfriends to come over and pack me, then had my brother and guyfriends do the heavy lifting. Since no one had the same schedule, I basically have been working on these moves for a few hours at a time every day - not cool. Very inefficient. (2) I rented a Uhaul - the $19.99 exponentially increased within seconds and I only moved 14 miles. (3) Second move, I used a corporate moving co that doesn't unpack - unpacking is the worst part for anyone working or studying 40-80 hours a week. Could you imagine 3-7 men coming into your home and packing everything up just to drop everything off on the nearest cleanest surface? NIGHTMARE! WHAT I DID RIGHT (1) I finally sat down (2) I picked up the phone (3) and called Birch Circle Moving for some professional help I called in the morning and was unpacked within a few hours. Very professional. The prices are reasonable and the guys are trustworthy. Giovanni was a dream come true! Moving can be the most humbling experience - I will not move myself again. As long as the price stays right, I will use and recommend this company exclusively! read more

I can't say enough about this company. I've been working with and recommending them sense Paul was the owner. Ricki is equally awesome, along with his entire staff. They are professional, respectful, hardworking and made a very complicated project manageable for my family. Let's just say, we inherited several generations of LARGE storage lockers. It involved two days, of donations, recycling, consignment and lastly dump runs. Oh yes, they also dropped off select items at my home. They were very respectful to my family, during a time of grief and had a super positive attitude! A+ read more

These guys rock. They've moved us twice, and both times were friendly, prompt, and responsive. Their estimate was a bit higher than local competitors, but you pay for what you get. These guys are pros. read more

We scheduled them for a 4 hour minimum. After 2.5 hours they started folding their blankets and would charge me for 3 hours and leave. The locations were 5 minutes from each other, in the same town. They refused to make a second trip. Left more than half the items still to be moved. Leaving us in a very stressful situation. Please do not use them. read more

Every great review about these movers is totally correct. I have moved 39 times now (Military brat, military wife), so I've seen a lot of moving crews. These guys worked their butts off all day, they were careful, cheerful, and so considerate. And on top of that, their rates are very reasonable. Top-notch, and could not recommend more highly. read more

I have moved a gazillion times in my lifetime, and I have to say that Birch Circle Movers blew my socks off! From my initial meeting with Alton for an estimate, to the phenomenal team, lead by Giovani, who made a very difficult move almost pleasurable, I was immeasurably impressed! These guys kept smiles on their faces through a long, arduous, and difficult day, and never complained or slacked off, even when I mismeasured two very large pierces of furniture and had to send them back to my old house and have them bring another piece back, and they never complained or made me feel stupid! Truly a marvelous group! read more

Can not imagine another company could have done as well. Starting with the quick response from Alton in the office (video/facetime estimates!!) and the fact that a November move turned into an immediate August move which was completed within one week, these guys ROCKED it. Now lets add on that they managed to pack 'part' of our house (kids are staying) and the new house is about to be remodeled so most things couldn't go inside! I now have two rows of completely organized boxes in my garage. Everything is grouped by rooms and arranged by need to access - all done by Rikki and Ian as they unloaded. This is an amazing locally owned company. Can't encourage you enough to select Birch Circle for your move!! One note: always ask to have the box with the coffeemaker marked!!! read more

Moving is hell. And chaos. Somehow, the crew from Birch Circle Movers made it pleasant. It all started about 5 days before our move when it occurred to me I hadn't booked a mover. For a Saturday in June. ARGH. "Hi, don't judge me please. I'm moving pretty quickly and am hoping to get a quote." Bob's reply "Do you need us there tomorrow?" Instantly I felt better because I wasn't THAT late. Bob was out within 2 hours. Lifesaver. If you're able to request specific guys, ask for Luis, Mike M, Ed, and Wayne. These guys hit the ground running, and were SO respectful and pleasant. AND, not a nick on one wall at either location. Luis did a fantastic job organizing things so that they knew where everything went in the new place. I called them based on the great reviews on Yelp and Nextdoor - so thanks. read more

We were in a panic to get some heavy furniture moved out. I chose Birch Circle Movers because the owners name was Paul and that's my brothers name. He's always taken good care of me so I hoped this Paul would too. We had no idea what we were getting! The guys Paul sent were professional, quick and so friendly. We so appreciated their help and same day turn around. Price was reasonable as well. Can't say enough good things and a big thank you to Paul. Keep up the good work. Your company deserves all the business it gets ! read more

I wanted to get a review posted for our move from SF to Santa Cruz. We did this in January 2020 and were quite happy with them. I'll add more later; but did want to make sure we got something out there. I wish I could acknowledge the crew by name; but seem to have failed to write them down. Alton was responsive and helpful guiding the process through from start to finish. I really appreciated that they didn't make this move (after being in my place 35 years) any more difficult than it already was. read more

My husband and I spent a lot of time trying to decide if we should hire movers for our move from SF to Marin. We got quotes from a few places, but ultimately went with Paul at Birch Circle, based in part on a recommendation from a coworker. We couldn't be happier with our choice, both to use movers generally and to use Birch Circle specifically. Paul's quote came in well below other companies, but Paul was still responsive and professional. Moving day was a breeze. The movers shrink wrapped all the furniture, and the move was done in less than half the time we expected. There were only one or two small broken items, but that was due to our poor packing of those items, not the movers. I highly recommend Paul and am so glad we went with him and Birch Circle! read more

Birch Circle helped me move twice in the past two weeks. Once into storage and once into my new place. Both times they took great care to protect my items, at the same time maintaining a no-nonsense, fast, steady pace, from when they got there through when they were completely done. Managers Paul and Bob were very polite, accommodating and easy to work with. I would not hesitate to call on them a third time. read more

I called Birch Circle on short notice to get help with moving into our new house. Given that we'd just bought said house, we were poverty stricken and destitute, but thankfully Birch Circle aren't your typical movers. Paul actually answered the phone, calmed me down (moving sucks) and dispatched two guys to our apartment to do the deed. Who promptly made me feel about as masculine as an Olsen twin, as they juggled couches and beds and dressers (oh my) with one-handed ease as I struggled with loading my car with a couple of boxes. They were fast but careful, they were courteous, our stuff didn't get so much as a scratch on it, and the price was great. If we ever move again (and if we do, shoot me) Birch Circle will be the first and only call I make. read more

WARNING: Should you use Paul's service, make sure you request NOT to have Will as your lead mover - RUN the other way. Will has a tendency to scream at the other movers (and you), complain about how many stairs he has to climb and breaks things. Oh, and if it's CAL Bears football season FIND ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY! Paul, the owner, kinda disappears and doesn't really work during this time. This was a direct quote from one of the movers. Paul's got a lot of 5 stars on here and maybe I was the one botched move, but TRUST me you don't want to play the percentages and be the other botched move. For the money, find another 5 star moving company on YELP. It was the WORST moving experience I've ever had. You shouldn't cry yourself to sleep while attempting to move, nor should you be bullied or harassed by the movers you are paying, nor should items that you have stated mean a lot to you be thrown into boxes (literally). Nor if you are paying close to $1700.00 for a move should you be schlepping boxes down to your new flat for the MOVERS. As an added bonus this was a referral from a friend of mine. Insult to injury, my friend met Paul in a NETWORKING group. In closing, I am utterly perplexed by the 5 star reviews, that said, if there was a way to give no stars, believe me, I would, or negative stars...... read more

Birch Circle did a great job with my move. Paul was professional, kind, flexible, and really worked with me to hit my budget. When there was a small hiccup with the truck he made sure that it didn't affect me or the overall cost. Alton and team showed up on time, worked quickly and courteously, and somehow managed to conceal any possible annoyance at me when I changed my mind at the placement of several bookcases after they put them down. :-) I recommend them highly. read more

Paul was a gem to work with, keeping me assured, calm, and confident in my move from the get-go. It was a last-minute move, too, but he was accommodating, and assured me that "this was MY move," which was hugely appreciated. Ivan and Duke were my movers. Personable, professional, quick, and efficient. They were an absolute PLEASURE! Plus, they are honest and reasonable, almost to a fault. Almost 45 minutes was used trying to scheme was of getting one sofa in through a tiny door. Though it didn't fit, they tried every possible way, and then only charged my half for their efforts on that part. When does THAT ever happen? Definitely highly recommended. For the first time ever, my move was a BREEZE. Thank you, Birch Circle Movers! read more

I hired Birch Circle to move us within Mill Valley about 9 months ago, so this review is long overdue. They came highly recommended, so didn't have too many concerns with the details. Everything went fairly smoothly until the very end when they attempted to get a couch down the hallway. The couch was hitting the ceiling and they couldn't get it around the corner. After leaving many marks on the ceiling they went back out and decided to lift over the balcony. While they were doing this, the fire sprinkler went off, flooding the whole downstairs. This was the sprinkler right at the corner they had tried to get by...and the marks on the ceiling led right up to the sprinkler head. Immediately they denied that they hit it at all (it was pretty obvious with all of the black marks on ceiling (that was fresh paint. Because of this the water was coming down into the garage, which was full of our belongings. They did help move everything out of the garage, but that ended up costing me a couple extra hours of labor. In the end, this all resulted in 10k of damages. I know that the sprinkler heads were old, and likely needed replacing anyways....but the fact that they took zero responsibility, and I had to pay for the overtime really left a bad taste in my mouth. The owner of the company did respond to my email about all of this, but essentially reiterated that all of his employees said they were nowhere near hitting the sprinkler. Unfortunately i was right there to witness it all. read more

Just to prove I wasn't blowing a bunch of yelper hot air, I did go back to Birch Circle for another small job recently, this time for a large sofa that had to make its way down a steep driveway and safely into my living room. Paul and his crew arrived on time, and made sure to wash their hands (have you ever seen movers do that?) before carrying in the new white couch. Not only are they prompt and professional, but clearly their mamas raised them right. read more
