Went in to order an XL Bionico for the family 45 minutes ago. When I approached the door there's a sign that says "Stop! This space is for Clients and employees only." Kinda confusing, felt like should I walk in or not? Weird way to say "Customers only". I wouldn't really consider myself a client of this place anyway, just a customer. Anyway I walk in and asked if they were open. I was met with a dirty look by the woman at the counter. She acted like she didn't understand and called for another woman to assist. I asked if It was ok for me to order. She looked at me equally as confused. Another woman joined and when I asked again if I could order, she said, "No English." And I asked if any of them spoke English and all three women said "No." I said that's fine, may I just order off the menu? They were obviously willing to let me walk out of there without buying anything because of a simple language barrier which is kinda odd (especially when their menu is on the counter with color pictures of just about every item. But hey, maybe that's just odd to me. ). The woman said "yes." I ordered a XL bionico, she asked, "with everything?" (That's english). I was like oh ok I know what time it is now. I just let it go and said "yes please." Don't want to beef too much with people making your food. She rang me up but assumed I was going to use card the total came out to $41 and change I don't remember exactly. When I said I was paying cash it was $35 now. $6+ for using your card is like club prices for using an ATM. Not the bionico in the city you grew up in. Whatever I paid cash. She asked me for a name. I was confused on what to do but I wanted her to maybe feel like how I was starting to feel which was embarrassed to even be there spending money. I gave a fake name "Derek Sandoval". She looked at me like oh. I collected my change from Judith (name on receipt) and sat down on the couch. The next woman who walked up after me was a brunette probably in her early 50's who approached the counter and spoke English. Judith (again the name on the receipt, not sure if she was Judith or if it was one of the other two women who were there) Judith was happy to say hello to her and speak in English right back to her without any issue. At this point it was slap in the face idk 4-5 by now. Why all of a sudden was English a non issue? Kinda upset me the city I called home my whole life up until 2019 would treat me that way. Just blatant racism. With no care whatsoever. I know if tables were turned I wouldn't have done that to her. I work in an area where I constantly have to help people and direct them where to go. A lot of times they don't speak English, they are traveling from Japan, or South Africa, Russia or some times even Mexico and Latin and South America. I do the best I can with everyone to help see they are headed in the right direction no matter what language they speak. The funny part is that's not my job at all. I'm working on equipment in the area and they ask me because they assume I work at the train station or bus station or airport. When in reality I don't at all. I'm a sub contractor. Point is I think we are too far along as people to be this rude for absolutely no reason. Especially a customer (not a client) I told Judith when she handed me my order, "What you guys did was pretty messed up. It was very rude. The only reason I didn't walk out was because I already told my family I was bringing it home and they were excited. Other than that I would've walked out." She looked at me and just said "Ok." With a small kind of head not that I didn't understand. I have come to this spot for about 20 years. Not a lot but 3-4 times a year and I've never been treated like this. Maybe just an off day. This spot has the best bionicos I have ever had, i've been coming here for many years. Their fruit is always fresh and the yogurt cream on top is to die for. I always omit the coconut flakes and papaya, just my personal taste. They give you such a plentiful serving, I shared a small one with my boss and coworker yesterday and still had leftovers. With that said let me explain.. 2 days ago I went and ordered 2 smoothies the transaction did not spit out a receipt the first time so they said they didn't charge me I looked up and showed them my transactions and it showed a duplicate charge still they didn't believe me. I asked well can you write a note that I should've only been charged once...I pulled up my bank app and since it stated it was pending I said ok I'll wait till it post to make sure they really charged me.. WELL THEY DID... Since I was down the street I go back and let them know if I can get my money back they said No I needed to call my bank. Why did I need to do the extra work when you clearly charged me twice. Today I ordered the plus salad, bionicos && a chicken spinach wrap (sorry I ate this before taking a pic but I promise it was YUMMY). My taste buds would not stop dancing . Now, to ai avoid just this type of thing..I have 2 accounts.. one that holds my money and another I put just enough money in to pay for the transaction. After my purchase was made..Bionicos Plus attempted twice to charge me for another order I never made! I received the declined notifications! I contacted Door Dash.. they said it wasn't through Door Dash and to contact the business. I did. The lady acted very nervous and said..I don't know what happened I'm sorry. I don't know what happened. And tried getting off the phone immediately when I told her it was a whole other transaction! On top of the attempted unauthorized transaction. My order was completely wrong! My order was supposed to come with condensed milk and it didn't have any.. it was drenched in Nutella!!! I don't eat Nutella!! None of the waffles in their menu say Nutella!! This is only the second time I order from them and they did the same thing last time. I gave them the benefit of the doubt..mistake. Bit my tongue... but this time..I specifically listed on the special instructions...no Nutella!! What did I get? Nutella!!! This store is located on a strip mall, next to a fish and reptile shop and a Covid testing center with a line that wraps around the parking lot. One would think that the owner has gone over Covid regulations in order to prevent the spread of this horrific Pandemic. I ordered a large fruit tray and stood outside as asked. Looking through the glass, I notice Julia, the employee making my fruit tray chopping fruit and dunking her bare hands to grab cut up pieces of fruit and tossing them onto my tray....what??? Yes! I had already noticed the testing center a couple doors down and was feeling uncomfortable, but knew my food would be coming up. When I saw her working without a glove and touching my food, I told her that she is in direct violation of C19 regulations. She went off having a run of her mouth and argued in defiance for a good 10 min as to why I can't tell her what to do. By this time, another lady wearing globes on both hands proceeded to prepare me a new salad for me. I will be reporting this place as non Covid Compliant to the appropriate Health Department agencies. Her arrogance and negligence puts everyone at risk. The proximity of the Covid testing center should put them on high alert to take great precautions and measures of protecting themselves and others taking extraordinary measures. I also observed that counters are not desinfected after each customer pays. Not C19 compliant, help stop the spread, do not give them your business they are not up to code. read more

My normal biónico spot is currently closed so I ventured to another biónico spot off of my brother's suggestion. I should've known not to trust him! This place would be mediocre, at best, based off of the food. The crepes were rubbery and saturated with syrup and fruit in an unpleasant way. Definitely not what I was looking for when trekking out of the house today. We also got an egg torta that was rather flavorless except for the overwhelming vinegar jalapeños. What warrants mentioning, in addition to the above, is the lack of customer service from staff. They appeared annoyed as soon as we walked in. I even got an eye roll from one while my brother and I discussed the menu! Never coming back here. If you're by here, go to Las Palmitas instead. It's grown in size in the recent years and also in popularity. Bionico translated to English is basically fruit salad covered in sweet cream with raisins, coconut, granola, and almond slivers. The exact concoction will vary from location to location and you can alter it. It's a delicious snack that is partially a healthy alternative and at the same time full of sugar. It's perfect on a warm day! This is basically a snack place that serves plenty of other items as well. What I love about this place is the healthy alternatives that are available. The have chia fresca which I love! There is a variety of fresh smoothies and juices as well. They also serve wheatgrass and quail egg shots! In addition to all of these healthy options they have salads, sandwiches, desserts, and even crepes. The list of options at this place is endless. I don't think I've ever walked out without buying something because they always have something that will satisfy my craving. My one and only complaint is the wait. The wait comes with a very good reason though! Everything is made fresh to order. There are several a la carte items that you can just pick up to go but if you're ordering just about anything else, they will be a wait. The kitchen is completely open which gives great transparency to the business and their practices. Everything tastes so fresh and delicious. Among some of the items I've tried from here are their smoothies, juices, tosti mariloco (seafood salad with tostada chips), strawberry bionico, and quesadillas. The snacks are Hispanic/Mexican-American influenced. You can alter any of the items by adding something extra or removing from the ingredients. I really should have read the reviews before giving to this place. This has been, not only THE WORST bionicos place, but the worst customer service I've ever recieved!! I ordered 2 large containers of plain fruit. After waiting for 40 minutes, my number was finally called and the lady snatched the receipt from my hand to confirm.I noticed she had put chili and lemon on both orders so I called her back. She grabbed my order, while sighing loudly and rolling her eyes, and went to double check my order. She went to the back and "corrected" jet mistake. She placed the order on the counter and walked away. She never apologized or said anything to me. When I got home, the fruit still had chili flakes on it and it tasted like lemon.
