I am a different type of southeast Asian but the Filipinos I dined here sung the praises of the amazing flavors coming out of this kitchen. Appetizers, main courses, and dessert were all presented beautifully, were generously portioned, and had full depth of flavor that had us scraping up every last bite on our plates. They started us with a delicious complimentary egg drop soup which was extra savory and topped with what tasted like high quality sesame oil. We followed that with chicken sisig bites and lumpia shanghai. We had the pancit negra, chicken adobo, crispy kare kare, and a beef dish but I have to say the standout was the Paksiw sa gata. It was a white fish gently poached and topped with a savory, buttery, and lemony sauce. The dish let the sweetness of the fish shine on its own without too much heavy handed seasoning. Our meal was paced really nicely and ended with the corn bibingka and flan desserts. Some restaurants are better at dessert, others are better with appetizers. I truly cannot say that Binondo has a strongest section because every aspect of this meal was excellent. Our group was surprised and a bit sad to see they were completely empty on the Wednesday night we visited. While we were happy to have the full attention of our server and chef as the only diners there, we really want to see this wonderful restaurant succeed. Stopped by Binondo by Kabisera for a weekend dinner and had a good time overall. Service was mixed but food/flavors were solid! Started off with the lumpia which was fried freshly but pretty standard in terms of flavor. The pancit negra featured chewy rice noodles and liked how the octopus sauce was present but not overpowering or too wet. The crispy pork was chunky with a good crunch! The sisig was well seasoned; I enjoyed the balance of savory, tang, spice, and aromatics! Although I prefer my sauces to be on the thicker side, the oxtail kare kare was solid. The peanut flavors were present but not too strong. The oxtail pieces were all very tender; meat came right off the bone. Veggies were appropriately cooked. We finished off our meal with their halo halo. It resembled other more traditional versions I've had and offered the sweet, coconut-y, ube-forward flavors I enjoyed. I especially liked the addition of young coconut pieces and the flan! The restaurant was spacious and agree with other Yelpers that this place is good for big parties! Came on a freezing Sunday for lunch at 1pm and were seated right away for two people. We got: Shrimp Pancit Bihon- shrimp was overcooked. I would pass on this since the main dishes comes with rice Pork Sisig- classic, can't go wrong. Comes out on a sizzling plate. Pairs well with the rice Paksiw sa Gata (steam fish w/ vinegar & coconut)- presentation was beautiful and the most unique in terms of flavor I guess since it's an open kitchen concept, the heat gets swept up by the cooking ventilation (?) but it was quite cold in the restaurant like once the food was served it already felt lukewarm. We asked the server if the heat could he turned up and he kindly said he would check. It did feel warmer towards the end, but our food was already cold. Finding reservations for groups of 10+ can sometimes be difficult in NYC, but not at Binondo! We were looking for a place to host a large friend reunion, and preferablly not be tied to putting a credit card down to reserve. We found Binondo and took the risk. I'm so glad that we did, because this could not have been a more perfect spot! Located in the heart of Chinatown, they serve delicious Filipino food. While I'm not too familiar with Filipino cusine, I can thorougly say I enjoyed every bite! Our group decided to do family style so we opted for multipe orders of the Chicken Adobo, Bok Choy, Pork Sisig, Canton Guisado, and Vegetarian Fried Rice. Egg Drop Soup (complimentary)- unique and different from your typical egg drop soup, but very soothing and comforting. The Chicken Adobo- soft, tender, and included quail eggs! Bok Choy- tasted fresh with small garlic bits and umami from the oyster sauce. Pork Sisig- fun interactive appetizer cooked tableside. Canton Guisado- bouncy noodle dish packed with flavor. We got this with the pork belly which was melting in our mouths! Vegetarian Fried Rice- standard fried rice, but perfect compliment to any meal. Binondo also has a full bar, so I got the Ongpin- which tasted like an ube pina colado. Honestly, while the food was incredible, I was just blown away with this drink. Such amazing Filipino food. If you're in the mood for a warm bowl of their chicken tinola soup, definitely try their cool take on it with fresh saffron at the top of the bowl. Hard to believe that after growing up in New York, this was my first time dining in a Filipino cuisine restaurant. Conveniently located on East Broadway in Chinatown, this place is fairly new. Our server was patient and very efficient. He brought us the soup and appetizers that were to be included at no extra charge as we were still looking at the menu to yet to order. I liked the seasoned anchovies, crispy. The soup was pumpkin based with a subtle taste and the petite bowl was gratis. I like that we were treated to cold lime infused water as we were seated. The sausage on rice had a hint of sweetness, not a bad thing. It was very good on sticky garlic rice. My favorite was the crispy pig on vermacelli. Really tender, unlike any I have had before. Crispy is the word. All in all we were glad to have something different from the usual Chinese and Vietnamese fare. Binondo is a fusion between Filipino and Chinese cuisine. It's a mix that I've never had before! They gave a complimentary soup that tasted very similar to egg drop soup. As appetizers I got their rock shrimp and I really enjoyed this one! Pork Sisig is usually one of my favorite Filipino dishes, but i think that the fusion taste threw me off. I can't tell you the names of each dish as we asked the chef to surprise us and what a tasty surprise it was! This was my first time at a Filipino restaurant. The biggest thing for me was the seasoning was perfect on every dish! We arrived for an early dinner, definitely before the dinner rush. We were there for a good many hours but they never rushed us. This is my favorite Filipino spot in the city that serves dishes I grew up with; literally the dishes my family would make on daily basis or for parties. My favorites here are the chicken tinola, beef kare kare, pancit negra, and turon. However, everything is amazing. Let's not forget the house apps that you get -- fried anchovies and small pandesal. Those are timeless snacks that you can find in any Filipino household, especially when there are guests coming over. I love the chicken tinola because its nostalgic for me, taking me back to days of being sick and being taken care of by my Lola or dad. Besides arroz caldo, this was in the kitchen. The beef kare kare is just a dish that makes me smile all the time. The subtle taste of peanut, the thick stew, the hint of bagoong (shrimp paste)... just perfection. Pancit is just our stir fried noodle that is light and hearty at the same time. It never gets old!!!! I never had it with pusit (squid) before trying it here... and now I'm hooked. Of course, I had to get my favorite dessert here which is TURON. Turon is my favorite Filipino dessert (caramelized plantains in a fried egg roll wrapper). Great place for Chinese Filipino food! Got the pancit and chicken inasal to share with a friend. The pancit is definitely one of the best pancits I've had. Great noodle texture and very flavorful. The chicken inasal was juicy, charred, and so so so flavorful. The lemongrass really came through. They also serve the table with peanuts and dried anchovies. Delicious! Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Drove all the way from New Jersey because of the hype. I called an hour ahead to make a reservation for five people and was told they had seats for us and to come in. When we arrived, we were told to wait another 40 minutes. I explained that I had called earlier and was assured there would be no wait, but we still waited outside the restaurant. During that time, several tables cleared, yet we were still not seated. Eventually, we decided to leave. A small restaurant like this relies heavily on excellent customer service and respectful staff. When customers are treated poorly, it reflects directly on the business. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and were seated near the cash register and kitchen, which made the seating feel awkward. When we were ready to order, we were informed that the restaurant had run out of pork, which makes up about one-third of the menu. After finding alternatives, it took around 15 minutes to get a server's attention, as there were only two waitresses and the restaurant was busy. We ordered beef kare-kare, pancit bihon with cubed beef, and chicken inasal. Our food did not arrive until 7:40 p.m., and during that time, we were mistakenly served another table's dishes twice. About 30 minutes after placing our order, a server came by to confirm it, which suggested that our original order had been forgotten. Several tables seated after us received their meals before we did, while the table next to us, which arrived earlier, had received their food, finished eating, and paid before ours even came out. The pancit bihon arrived first without the beef cubes, and the waitress informed us they had run out. The dish was acceptable in taste but overly oily. While waiting for the remaining dishes, we considered canceling since we had already been there for over an hour and a half, but the waitress assured us the kitchen was working on them. The beef kare-kare and chicken inasal were both mediocre in flavor and also too oily. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant at this time. If you still plan to visit, I suggest going earlier in the day when they are less busy and better stocked with ingredients. read more

The lechon kawali was served with a vinegar dipping sauce. I don't know why I didn't ask for the typical lechon sauce. Both were cooked well.
