My boyfriend and I ordered half of the menu. The chicken sandwich was flavorful and juicy, definitely my favorite. However, the bread does get a little soggy with all the sauces. The pork belly sandwich was good. The highlight is definitely all the Krispy pork pieces. There's two chunks of pork belly sandwich between two slices of bread and a sauce for you to dip. If you're a pork lover, I would recommend this one. The beef was also really good. Lots of flavor. But a little dry for me. The vinegar fries are coated in a ton of vinegar salt. they're on the thick soft side more like steak fries. We also got the lumpia, which was amazing, but there's only two pieces The halo halo was good as well jackfruit/coconut on the bottom was a little sour the one that I got but the Ube flavor was great

I found this place on TikTok, which honestly just speaks to the whole TikTok-ification of NYC dining at this point--because clearly I wasn't the only one. The spot is tiny, like maybe 3-4 tables max, and it was packed wall-to-wall when I got there. At one point, one of the workers was actually asking people who had already ordered to step outside to free up tables and wait out there. Normally I wouldn't care, but on a super hot, humid day right before a rainstorm... that definitely tested my patience. I was originally planning to get a sandwich, but once I saw the chaos (and people basically being told to wait outside in the heat), I quickly pivoted. No way I was standing around sweating for a $18 sandwich that still had to be made. Honestly though, I'm glad I did. I just got the mac & cheese and it was super flavorful--kind of gives hamburger helper vibes with a slightly sweet, tangy twist. And for $6 in NYC, I really can't complain. Crowded situation aside, it hit the spot.

Freshly opened by the Unapologetic Foods group, Sanwits has landed in the EV. Early patrons definitely got a taste of the Unapologetic hospitality. Despite being a really small space doing quick service business, the hospitality touchpoint started as soon as people walked in. The co-owner of Unapologetic greeted me at at the register and showed me paper-lined basket of different breads as he walked me through each sandwich and bread paring. Midway through his bread presentation, he greeted new patrons who trailed in a few seconds after me. Behind the cash wrap, EC and Unapologetic partner Eric Valdez was seen putting together sandwiches. In a one-two punch, Valdez has been killing it and making headlines at Naks, a Filipino sit-down restaurant by the UF group. The BEC was sold out during my visit but I was able to try the spam sanwits and the mushroom adobo melt. The spam was made in-house and the entire sandwich tasted adjacent to a brunch burger or (lord forgive me) a big mac (it's the special sauce and the lettuce combination). The mushrooms in the mushroom adobo sandwich tasted amazing. There was a mix of mushrooms, which I greatly appreciated, and then a hint of sweetness from a source that I cannot put my finger on due to my lack of Filipino pantry knowledge. Both sandwiches were a little messy and tasted best when hot. Sanwits only has about 3-4 tables inside with no outdoor seating at the moment. With its current hours of operation, it's convenient to take your food up one more block to Apollo Bagels to enjoy the sandwiches while sitting on the Apollo benches after they close.

I went twice and I really wish they opened earlier. The food is delicious. I tried just about everything but I only got photos from my first visit. One of my favorites is the chicken sandwich it came out hot and crispy I was burning my mouth eating it, the Mac and cheese was also at the top for me with the rolls and the ube matcha was lovely wish they has larger sizes. Last but not least best halo halo ever. There's only a few tables so its hard to get a seat but take it to go and eat in the park.

These might be my favorite sandwiches in New York City. I was blown away by all three that I tried. We ordered: * Ribeye Caldereta * Lechon Dip * Chicken Bagoong My favorite was the Lechon Dip. The flavors were incredibly well-balanced, with the rich, savory pork pairing perfectly with the sweetness of the pineapple. The crunchy chicharrón added a great texture that really brought the sandwich together. The Ribeye Caldereta was absolutely packed with flavor, and I loved how saucy it was. My only complaint was that some pieces of the meat were a bit too fatty for my taste. The Chicken Bagoong was excellent as well. The bun was incredibly soft, the chicken was fried perfectly, and the flavor was fantastic. It actually reminded me a bit of a Thai curry, with a subtle kick that kept it interesting. I was a little disappointed by the mac and cheese. It could have used more flavor and a creamier, saucier texture. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service was impressively efficient. Our fairly large order was ready in about 10 minutes. There is some seating inside, but if the tables are full, I highly recommend taking your food to Tompkins Square Park, especially on a nice day. Overall, this place is absolutely worth a visit and serves some of the best sandwiches and authentic Filipino flavors I've had in New York City!

Off to a good start. I had already eaten so I didn't try the sandwiches and just got the lumpia to go. Mom thinks there should be more but I actually think the prices are fair for this day and age. Lumpia was good - some crispiness on the wrapper and a meaty bite. The accompanying sauce has a little heat. I'll be back to try the sandwiches. Fyi - this restaurant is in the same family as the group that does Naks.

damn. this was delicious. i'm writing this just minutes after stuffing my face, and i had a lovely time doing so. sanwits is bringing the sauce. i wanted to try everything but ended up on the lechon dip sanwhich. saucy, slutty, insane. the auju (idk how to spell it) was like a pork adobo fat, and it was insane. prices aren't bad, inside is super small so be prepared to take it out if needed! no line on a saturday at 7pm.

I was so excited to try this place but ended up disappointed. I got the chicken bagoong which was indisputably the messiest sandwich I've ever had in my life. Flavor was decent but very heavy. I ate about half of it and then threw it away. Am interested in trying other items on the menu but I don't ever need this sandwich again.

This was my first time seeing one with roasted duck though. Just a heads up that the street felt a bit sketchy even though it's near the edge of Chinatown. We were unfortunately harassed by someone outside of the store and ended up giving him a few dollar bills... *Chinese Sausage Mala Wrap $10 ** The lap cheong was spread so evenly throughout that I got some in almost every bite. The mala aioli was quite spicy, but not overpowering or lingering. The crispy shallots added such a nice crunch too which I loved! *Duck Tsangwich $16 I was quite surprised that the roast duck skin stayed crispy! The crackly cookie topping could've been thicker since it was pretty flat. They give you chili oil on the side, but it was already super flavorful with the hoisin sauce. Only thing I wished for was more cucumber and scallion to help balance out the richness.

((4.5 stars)) Sunny…read moreand Annie's is very much a 24/7 neighborhood gem of a corner store and deli. it's packed with packaged foods--candy, chips, cookies, ice cream, soft drinks, beer, and a lot more plus the deli counter serves ups an endless list of creative sandwiches. i am not going to say this place is cramped but it kinda is. for example, if people stand in the wrong areas of the store, it will cause a complete standstill of a traffic jam in the store. my advice: order from the deli (and stand somewhere people aren't trying to get to) or grab whatever you need, pay, and leave. this place is not a place to linger. keep it moving. anyway, the obvious draw of Sunny & Annie's is the endless list of sandwiches that are handwritten cards that are stuck outside glass of the deli counter. there is literally something for the pickiest eaters--from hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, wraps, and more. some sandwiches are named celebrities, politicians, etc. i have ordered a bunch of different sandwiches and have not made it through much of the menu. you can also create your own Frankenstein monster of a sandwich. while the sandwiches are a big part of the draw, the insane amount of snack foods crammed into the store is quite remarkable from the large stand of Doritos, Takis, Cheetos and other popular branded snack foods in the front to the separate stand of Wise snacks to an entire back corner of the store filled with all kinds of chips, popcorn, etc. imo, Sunny's has the freshest-tasting Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. i know an insane take consider it's a packaged popcorn snack from a megacorp (PepsiCo), but i'll die on this hill. maybe it's cause Sunny's sells a lot of Smartfood popcorn so it gets refreshed often, maybe they have a secret in/pipelinbe from the factory, or it's just magic/alchemy. i don't know, but the Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn never tastes stale-ish like it does at grocery stores, the bags never feel deflated because they have been on shelf long, and the popcorn never has that soft mouthy feel but still has the crunch to it. maybe it's just me, but Sunny's serves a great list of sandwiches...AND the freshest Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. beyond the snacks, the service from the deli to cashier is upbeat and friendly. in all seriousness, Sunny and Annie's is an Avenue B institution at this point and remains a charming family-owned store--and is NOT a sterile modern clone of a neighborhood business.

Ever since my husband introduced me to this place almost a decade ago, I've been in love with their sandwiches. The chicken parm is definitely my favorite because there's nothing better than a hot sandwich on a cold day. Their chicken cutlet portions are always generous. We usually have them cut our sandwiches into quarters because we like to order a few different ones to share, such as the chicken parm and the Italian combo. We used to get them on their round semolina bread which was absolutely amazing, but unfortunately they don't make the round semolina anymore. The bread here is just top-notch, fresh, chewy, and delicious. They often sell out quickly, sometimes by lunchtime which tells you how popular they are. Every visit reminds you why Parisi has survived since 1903 while trends and neighbors came and went. Let's talk about The Dennis--the undisputed star and a true signature sandwich. This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
