    Pancit Kabute
    Mandisa N.

I've had this place saved on Instagram for the longest time. I tried to come for brunch the Saturday before (party of 5) and tried to walk in when the restaurant opened at 11:30 am. Unfortunately, we were immediately told that they would not be taking any walk-ins So, just one friend and I snagged a reservation for the following Saturday. This time around they did let in a few walk-ins at the bar, but they cut that off pretty quickly. It seems the space is much larger than you would expect. We were seated right in front by the window so I didn't go back and explore, but the more you know. Staff were really lovely and attentive and gave us a few recommendations as well. Pancit Kabute - There is no subtle way to explain that this is hands down one of the best noodle dishes I have ever had. So creamy and mushroomy; the fried egg on top is such a perfect addition. YOU NEED TO TRY THIS. I will be back for this over and over and over... Classic Filipino Platter with Chicken Adobo - Just really classic and simple. Very well made, loved the chicken. Comes with a lovely, gingery broth. Salted Egg Pancake - Delicious and the perfect way to end the brunch on a sweet note. Tastes almost like an elevated corn cake (maybe even pound cake). The addition of citrus is so perfect. You can't go here and not get this (this is what first caught my eye on social media actually). For one of my best friends being Filipino, it's a little surprising that I haven't had a lot of Filipino food. I've dabbled, but nothing had really stood out until this experience. Amazing! I've been recommending this place to everyone I know.

Got the pork rice bowl and the coconut crab. Both were yummy but so expensive. Coconut crab was not a large portion but the pork rice bowl was at least. Both were tasty but I wouldn't get again because of the price. Came on a Wednesday at 6:50pm and grabbed the last bar seats. It got extremely busy with a wait shortly after so make a reservation or get there early.

We heard good things; authentic and delicious Filipino food with east village vibes. I've never had Filipino food so I can't say whether or not it was authentic but delicious-definitely yes! The drinks were unique and meticulously prepared. They have UN beer from Brooklyn and that was very tasty. The food was the star. Lechon for two, spring rolls, and KFC, all were amazing. My one thorn was the original service from the hostess. We arrived an hour early and had no problem waiting and sitting at the bar having a few cocktails. However, when asked if we could sit early we were told that there were no available tables for two. Yet it was clear that there were at least three tables for two at the front of the restaurant. This lapse aside our server was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Naks feels like a tropical escape the moment you walk in. The interior is beautiful, filled with vibrant colors, and the open kitchen greets you with incredible aromas right away. It sets the tone for a really immersive dining experience. The food and drinks absolutely delivered. The kinilaw was a great start. Beautifully presented, spicy, and refreshing. The standout of the night was the lechon platter, which was incredibly flavorful with perfectly crispy pork belly and easily enough food for more than two people. The cocktails were just as memorable. The Zesto was refreshing with a unique, tropical flavor, and the Hoy Bayabas had the perfect balance of spice and fruit. Overall, an excellent meal and I can't wait to go back.

We came with a reservation on a Friday evening and were seated at the bar for a little while before making our way to the table. The service was fantastic and extremely attentive- they gave us great recs for the next time we come back (we def will) The KFC and the crab are MUST orders. The KFC is so well seasoned and fried to perfection while the inside chicken is incredibly juicy. I would get a side of the pickled papaya to eat with the chicken, the sour and crunch really elevate the texture and flavor of the chicken. They don't skimp out on the crab curry portions either, and the presentation is beautiful. The adobo was also delicious. We ended our meal with the ube cheesecake which was dense and creamy, but will turn your mouth purple!

3.5/5 Excited and nervous to try this spot from Unapologetic Group. Raw Tuna - pretty good, I love coconut so liking this coconut vinegar creation. Kanto Fried Chicken - it was a good boneless fried chicken but nothing too special. Lumpiang Spring Roll - not good unfortunately, the filling was all mushy. Dungeness Crab - good but heavy, eat with rice. Adobo Rice - good balance of flavor but $33 is ridiculous like everyone else said. Lechon Platter for 2 - the skin was crispy as it looked, appreciate it came with 2 veggie sides and slaws to kill the fat. The meat wasnt fall off the bone level which usually it should? And there's a lot of fat, even 4 of us couldn't finish and felt a very heavy dish.

Great spot for flavorful Filipino food, perfect for groups or dates. I recommend ordering a couple dishes to share as the portions are a bit small. Some favorites were bbq pork belly, Kare kare, and pancit batil patong beef noodles. Every dish was full of umami and you will finish the dishes fast. The service was friendly and welcoming.

The food and drinks were delicious!!!! Staff was quick and helpful. Decor was lively and chic. Restrooms were nicely designed and clean. The Calamansi Spritz was so nice, lightly sweet and refreshing. Every thing I had was amazing, but my favorite parts of the meal this time (1st time) were the Kanton Fried Chicken (KFC), Pork Bbq and the grilled pampano. A new favorite spot!

We went for their Brunch so if you were hoping to get their Ginataang Alimango like us, we recommend going for their dinner instead haha. Luckily the brunch menu has dinner variations so we did get to try their KFC and crab filling. If you're going to order the KFC sandwich, and you're not a huge fan of vinegar fries, we recommend just ordering the KFC separately and getting rice. Even though they said the wait time could be over an hour, we were seated within 30 minutes. (We walked in around 1245pm on a Saturday). The service was quick and friendly. Loved the open kitchen vibe!

Probably closer to like a 3.75. Probably better for their dinner menu? Walked in on a Saturday at around 12:35 and waited maybe 10 minutes for a table. Food: Vinegar fries were WAYY too vinegary The chicken itself was good. Woulda been bomb with rice and some gravy (in Filipino so I gotta have rice). Crab omelette was okay. Would've been better with rice too. Ube cheesecake was too salty for us. But it tasted better the more we ate as our taste buds got used to it. Is this a good thing? Ambiance: Its okay - nothing remarkable. Good music playlist though. Service: Good and prompt.

BRUNCH REVIEW ONLY Made a reservation for Saturday brunch with my group about a week before. Walked in and this place was packed! Our group ordered: - Salted Egg Pancakes - Platter with Chicken Adobo - Crab Omelette - Pancit Kabute Everything was absolutely delicious EXCEPT I found the chicken adobo very dry. Would probably skip the platter dish altogether. The crab omelette though was delicious and had a healthy amount of crab chunks. The pancit kabute was also great. Almost bordering a carbonara in texture/mouth feel, the noodles were absolutely perfect in my opinion. The pancakes were also really good. Not overly sweet with the salted egg yolk and the pancakes itself were fluffy. I do think we probably could've asked for that at the end instead of it all coming out at once. Also ordered the purple yummm which was a great drink choice if you like ube. Would recommend. Overall, even though I thought the platter was a bit of a miss, everything else was quite good and I'd definitely come back for dinner. The space is well decorated, but laidback. Service was also attentive with swapping plates out, cleaning up, water refills etc. Makes for a really good brunch option for when your friends or family are in town. Just make sure you go early or snag a reservation!

    Pancit batil patong
    Briana N.

Definitely make a reservation if you can because this place fills up quick! And I can see why! I feel like I would probably recommend picking dinner over brunch just for the more extensive menu and the desserts like the ube cheesecake, but brunch was still delicious! My standouts were the crab omelette and the kfc. The crab omelette had so much crab and the egg was so soft. And the kfc was so juicy and crispy, and the spicy sauce added the perfect kick. The pancit batil patong was also really good, but it just didn't shine as bright. The salted egg pancake was also good in general, but it didn't taste like salted egg pancake, it just tasted like orange. There was some confusion with the ordering, ending in us not getting the chicken adobo platter, and the kfc coming out super late, but the staff was super helpful and they ended up giving us the peach please drink free of charge. It was good and really fruity, but also super strong.

    Pancit Kabute
    Vishnu G.

I had the pancit kabute, which is a noodle dish with an assortment of mushrooms and a sauce made from chili and garlic, emulsified with a runny egg yolk. The effect is almost like an Italian fusion dish. There's a bit of calamansi to add some brightness, I definitely could've used some more. The flavor is decent, but this ran up to almost $30 after tax and tip, which isn't really worth it. I would've liked to see a few more vegetarian options too, but I suppose it's nice to see any at all.

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Everyone recommended them highly, but I could not understand why. For such price, three tiny balls of fried potato should've been mind blowing, but they were underwhelming and forgettable at best. Wish the portion was a bit bigger, especially the sides. $38 duck confit was highly advertised, however, it was underwhelming and the least stand out dish. It was solid, but nothing that I would order again or recommend. The duck was on the dry side. Definitely not enough sauce. The cabbage and the cabbage salad were good. Crispy and refreshing. The duck was not the star of this dish. $13 chocolate mousse with strawberry coulis was surprisingly delightful. So light and balanced. Not sweet, but just right to finish a meal. I could eat this dessert every day after every single meal. So simple, yet it hit the spot. Service is very fast and efficient. One of our readers was superb and provided stellar recommendations. Another waiter (young and inexperienced) was very shy and his energy felt very stifling.
