Meh.
So I was invited out for some quality time and this loved one went through the trouble of booking us an appointment for pedicures waaaayyy in advance so we could sit together while having our tootsies taken care of. (nothing is more annoying than watching someone get a pedicure and waiting for your own due to poor planning, short staff or both, right?!)
So we get there (to be fair we were 7 minutes late) and everyone is busy. We are taken to pedicure chairs so we could start to soak our feet. This was nice.
But what I didn't like is that THIS is pretty much all we did for the first HOUR we were there waiting for our pedicures. They had to refill our water twice because it go so cold while we were waiting and my feet were starting to freeze. (their front door takes forever to close and the wind would blow in for at least 30 seconds before it shut after a customer entered or left)
It was a Friday, had been a long day and I did snooze lightly in the massage chair, choosing relaxation over fretting due to a little delay in my toenails getting attention. No biggie....
Then I started to get hungry. This is not the fault of Binh's Nails of course. However, we were expecting to leave within an hour and grab dinner, which is why our appointment was for right after work...late afternoon.
This is where the lack of ambiance became grossly noticeable. Instead of spa-ish music, there were 2 giant tv screens blasting the Food Network. A hungry gal can only watch so much Food Truck Wars and Chef shows before she gets hangry! The rumble of my stomach in conjunction with glacier-like speeds of the pedicurist really drove the star rating of this review down.
Our two pedicures took 2.5 hours. My toenails did not, in exchange for the ludicrous time investment, look impeccable. Mediocre at best.
I do appreciate all the sincere efforts by the staff but I'm not sure I would choose to go back there when faced with so many other options.
Suggestions for improvement might include some background music, consideration for clients that have made appointments, perhaps even, *gasp* priority?! -- or an apology for the delay in providing service? --- or an offer of a discount? --- or even acknowledgement that our experience may have been terrible?
Someone else would probably have stormed out of there after the first hour and a half. On another day, I might have done the same. But I was so weak and hungry I didn't want to argue.
So yeah, 2 stars....and that's why. read more
