I went in for a Manicure and Pedicure. This was my first visit to this Salon. I thought they did an excellent job. I had very little to work with; my finger nails were cracked, split and mostly shorter in length. Hahn did an amazing job by building up my shorter nails and making them all look so good. I have gone here before but now they gone through 3 owners and the regular polish selection is very limited and very old product if you are going there make sure to bring you own colour ! As for price I was given a price and was changed right after the service I got my mom for a pedi / mani. I literally love it here. I come here whenever I don't wanna do my own set of nails, and I always get an acrylic set. I had Steven this time around and they really make sure that you're happy with the shape, length, etc. while they're doing it. He constantly asked me if I liked what I was seeing and I kept agreeing! It's not like usual nail salons where they keep going with what they THINK you want and not say anything until after you stop them. They have hundreds and hundreds of nail colours to pick from but this time around I went with a light nude pink with some design on my middle fingers. I loved the outcome and it's definitely really easy to make conversation with the nail techs here. The atmosphere is much better than at other salons as they're all fluent in English and aren't yelling across the salon in vietnamese or Chinese like at every other salon I've been to. Very unimpressed! I went here about a year and a half ago for my grad nails and absolutely loved it. I went a week to two weeks ago and every single one of my gel nails were lifting off completely, I paid $80 for a fill and couldn't even get what I wanted because it apparently would've been $110 for black French tips and an extra $10 for my three broken nails.....I was not going to pay $140 for a gel fill.... When I left I had a bunch of gel all over my fingers that I had to scrape off, not necessarily something I want to do or should have to. Not to mention not all of the colour from my previous nails were removed so you could see pink underneath a few off my nails, she also never pushed my cuticles back or applied the gel all the way to the base of my nails so they looked grown out. I'm not a picky person by any means but this was a terrible experience and I won't come back now which is unfortunate cause they guy and his wife are amazing. read more

If I could give a half point, I would give 3.5 out of 5. I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi. This was my first time coming here. I was greeted and seated promptly. The salon is clean and welcoming. The massage chairs are comfortable. Staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome and relaxed. Just a couple things that I was disappointed with. The first being, they do not do callus removal. The main reason I get pedicures is to remove the dead skin so that my skin is nice and soft. The other thing was that they didn't have the colours I was looking for and wasn't able to execute the artwork that I asked for. They did, however, try their best, so I appreciate the effort! It's definitely a decent place to get a manicure and nail set but I don't think they're quite "up" on all of the nail techniques or products that are out there. All in all, my experience was decent. I'm from out of town and stopped in to fix one broken acrylic nail and repaint my nails with shellac. Aside from being charged $34 CAD, that same nail they fixed broke and the shellac on another finger chipped. My nail artist was patient and creative. I came with a design and he made it his own. He always made sure that I was okay with the work. He took his time perfecting the nail art. I have been to many nail salons throughout Edmonton, and this Q-Nails location is BY FAR the best i have been to. I have had both Sandy and Steven do my nails and their passion and attention to detail honestly is unmatched. The salon is always very clean, they are constantly sanitizing and wiping stations down, and they are genuinely some of the nicest people. Before i even started seeing Steven for my nails permanently, he would always remember my name as soon as i came in. They really make you feel like family. I can't say enough about this salon. I went to get my nails done for my baby shower. I was so excited because they had a special going on too. Little did I know there was a reason for cheap rates! My nails took only 35 minutes for a gel shellac for one. The nail tech I dealt with was rude and impatient, my nails were a mix of coffin shaped, square and uneven. I didn't realize til I went out to my car and saw the mess in the light. I promptly went back in to ask for a fix or removal or refund or something. I was told I already paid so there's nothing they can or will do and I can come back another day to fix them but I would have to pay! So that ended in an 8-month pregnant lady crying her eyes out and no one giving a shit. Worse service I've ever had at any nail spa. read more

Don't go the Qnails inside Crossiron mills. I went in to treat myself and thought their professionalism was subpar. I went in to get a new shellac colour. The nail tech used the drill to remove the previous shellac colour (which I didn't clue in at the time) is not the safest thing to do because now my poor nail beds are ruined. The colour came off 1 week later. all my beautiful nails broke in half :'(. I will definitely not recommend going there if you are looking for a half-decent job! read more

My Mom was at the CrossIron location yesterday and here's what she had to say. "I guess I'm not alone when it comes to getting treated terribly with an absolutely embarrassing result. I went in today to get some gel nails, a pedicure, and my brows done. We started with my nails, I had power on them which I didn't like so I asked her to remove them and to do gel. She said no problem. So then she starts takes them off and says she can't do gel. So I asked why and she said because it will lift. So I let her know that my regular girl does this and the powder just needs to be taken off completely. She looked at the girl beside her and started almost yelling in another language as I sat there feeling uncomfortable, you could tell she was speaking about me inappropriately. So I asked her what the problem was and she rudely looked at me and said: "nothing that concerns you". Clearly, it did concern me... so after she was done talking about me to the employee next to her she told me that she can't do my nails. At this point, she had sanded them down and then basically asking me to leave... I was so confused I didn't understand why you can't remove one set and do another? I've been getting my nails done for 15 years and never had an issue. I was at a loss for words, she literally asked me to leave the salon because I wanted gel nails. Aren't gel nails a very common, everyday thing in a NAIL SALON? Also, if for whatever reason you don't offer gel nails, you should tell your customers that before you take their nails off and start sanding them down. I even PAID $26 which honestly I would like returned. I paid to be nice and not cause a scene but that's 100% wrong to do that to someone and make them pay on top of it. Overall it was a cute place, only two booths and two ladies who do your nails. I had my gel nails done and they were great, the lady who did my nails was very friendly but took forever to finish them. The second time I went, she took my gel nails off and applied shellac for free, which was really sweet of her. I would recommend this place as a backup to your usual salon as they are great with drop-ins! I believe they also offer waxing but I've never had that done. Hope this helps! read more

I've been going from salon to salon for over a year now trying to find the perfect nail salon, and so far this one is by far the best. (I get the shellac(gel) polish done on my hands, and the occasional pedicure with regular nail polish.) My first impressions of other salons have always been awesome, but so far after repetitive visits the outcome of my nails were awful. The ones that I've had horrible experiences with was the Q-nails by 23 avenue & 24 street, Binh's nails on gateway, and studio nails in south gate. First off, I am someone who has very strong nails that grow fast; so every 2-3 weeks I would get my nail colour changed. I found that each of these salons somehow managed to thin out my nails to a point where i had to wear bandaids over my nails to prevent any cracks or breaking for about a month. I'm not 100% sure if these are the reasons of why my nails were thinning, but a lot of them didn't have any explanations to the questions I had concerning their tools (&honestly, what else could it be considering my nails were never like this before i started using shellac polish): 1) Some of the salons would coat my nails with two different base coats before putting the coloured polish; normally it's just one coat. The first coat is fine, but the second coating burns once you put it under the UV light; I have a good pain tolerance but OUCH did it ever hurt. When I told them it was painful, they said after a few times I get it done the feeling will go away....NOPE. 2) Some of the salons would file my nail down with the nail filing machine claiming "it was safe to use directly on natural nails". I believed this for over 6 months till i KNEW they were just TOO LAZY to remove it the proper way. My nail bed curves at the top, but once they were done filing it, my nails were flat. When I told them to stop using the machines because they were ruining my nails, they would either refuse to do my nails, or tell me that my nails were 'already like that'. Just ridiculous. I wish I knew this guys name but he works at the Q-nail salon on Calgary trail and told me straight up what I have been experiencing. He said that certain people react to this cheap brand of base coating, which is probably why I felt the burning pain. He also said that using the nailing filing machine is the WRONG way of removing shellac polish because it is on the natural nail; and that it should be removed by foil. I appreciated his honesty, and found the work they have done on me so far to be outstanding. So far, I would recommend them! Don't let me down now... ;) read more
