And don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to going into the office regularly again, I'm just not looking forward to having to bother with eyeliner again. So, I decided to splurge and get eyeliner permanently tattooed. After doing some research, JPMU seemed to have reasonable prices, good experience, good facilities, and good reviews, so I booked a session with Julia. I'd never had a tattoo before so I don't know how it would compare to a tattoo elsewhere. They numb your eyelids first, but as it slowly wears off it does hurt a little, and it's obviously not PLEASANT having a needle buzzing so close to your eyes. Still, the first appointment took under 2 hours, and then a touch-up between 1-2 months later was shorter, and the ink should last for 3-5 years although they recommend checking in after a year or so since individual experience varies. Your eyelids will be puffy and a bit sore for the next couple of days but it's no worse than how they feel sore after a good cry. I had the tattoos on Tuesday late afternoon and my eye lids were still a bit puffy for the next 3-4 days, but the boyfriend actually didn't notice anything unusual when he saw me Thursday night (maybe this says more about my boyfriend than anything else, but ... clearly not THAT noticeable). Mind you, he still hasn't noticed that tattoos either... Anyway the eyeliner looks great, understated but basically how I'd apply it for a normal day at work and I don't have to do anything but add a little mascara if I feel like it. Would recommend bringing some photos of your eyeliner the way you want it to look, or looking through the photos on their site to find one that looks like what you want.

I saw Studio N Beauty online and was impressed by the pictures. The eyebrow pictures on the website looked so natural! A lot of the scary microblading stories online talk about horrific infections and poor workmanship. On the Studio N website it mentions that the studio is Alberta Health inspected, licensed and insured. The studio follows strict protocols and that it's a priority to provide a safe and clean environment. These are all things I like to hear when researching a place to have my eyebrows semi-permanently tattooed. When I met Natalia, I felt like I kind of knew her already from my research on the studio. She was friendly and very professional. I felt at ease right away. Her credentials are very impressive! She has a degree in Immunology and Infection from the University of Alberta! You can read about her extensive list of accomplishments on the Studio N website. In a nutshell, she's an award winning, fully certified cosmetic tattoo artist and micropigmentation specialist. I noticed a last minute opening for an eyebrow microblading appointment. I quickly booked online and paid $100 non-refundable deposit for my appointment. My session was booked from 11-1:30pm on a Sunday (special holiday hours). My first impression was that the studio looked girly, hip and cool. Kinda like Natalia! I was Natalia's only client in the studio during my appointment time. Natalia started by taking close up pictures of my face. Then she drew in the potential eyebrows. She gave me the option of one with a bit of an arch, or one that was more flat. I opted for the one with an arch. She mentioned that flatter eyebrows tend to make people look younger. I already have a baby face so I didn't need to take even more years off my face. Next, I laid down on a treatment bench as Natalia began the process. First she cleansed my brows and put topical anesthetic for about 20 minutes. When she started microblading my brows, I didn't feel anything at all! Seriously no pain! I only heard a scratching/scraping noise as she worked. She said she doesn't cut too deeply when she microblades. In the end my whole procedure took about 2 hours. Afterwards she gave me verbal and written instructions on the aftercare of my eyebrows, and also a little container of aftercare cream (Cicaplast cream). Natalia took some pictures of my new eyebrows. I paid and booked my 8 week touch up appointment before leaving the studio. Overall, Natalia was awesome and everything I expected from what was mentioned on the Studio N website. I definitely recommend her if anyone is considering having their eyebrows microbladed. It's a bit pricey, over $550, but this is the average price for quality microblading work. I felt like I had a first class experience! I love my new eyebrows!!!
