For a long time, I didn't get pedicures because it seemed like an indulgence I couldn't afford. I decided to splurge, but the other places were all booked up, so I decided to chance it here. So glad I did, and continue to do! Minh and his family are very warm and welcoming and can ALWAYS get me in as a walk-in, which is great. They have TVs to watch, you're always offered a water and a comfy massage chair. Also, whatever produce he has picked up. I've been offered strawberries, mango...I forget what else. Such a sweet man. He does a very thorough job cleaning up my Hobbit feet and waxing the hair off my toes. First time a pedicure place had every done that, and it's AMAZING how much difference it makes! I usually pick my favorite color, #34, a deep crimson red, and the price is incredible for what you get. At least 10 bucks cheaper than the fancier places. The salon does quality work at a good price while being professional and friendly. This is family run and friendly - it has a relaxed vibe to it and is not pretentious. I have had pedicures, nail sets and waxing done here and the place is very clean. It is a small space for a salon but well utilized and the equipment is up to date as well. I have been going for over 10 years and have never had any kind of issue with infections, fungus etc so very sanitary as well. Very happy with the place as well as the service levels. read more

My wife and i went here for manicure and pedicure for the first time and it was amazing. The workers are very polite and outgoing with gentle handling of my hands and feet. Not impressed. Small and dirty. My heels were rough and cracked hours after my pedi. Polish looks great. My daughter had a mani with stickers that fell off in hours leaving holes in the polish. My other daughter had acrylic(I think) and they were very short. She asked for long ones like she had and was told it was an extra cost. $50 covers any length anywhere I've been. Owner couldn't be bothered to look up from his iPad game while I paid. Oh and the adorable puppy that is there with them growled and snapped when my daughter was petting it. Would have gone back to complain but we're on our last day of vacation and left that evening. Very disappointed. read more

Hmmmm... Seems the reviews for this place are hot and cold. My actual rating is a 3.5. I saw the reviews on this page, and decided to take my chances. I'm a wax virgin, and I've been talking about my eyebrows since February. I tried this place because it's obviously local, and only ten minutes away from my house. So I call them, and told them I could be there in 10 minutes and they said "Sure!" So I went. First impression came from the friendliness. Lovely people. But then I looked around. I'm not sure if the place is actually dirty, but this place needs a facelift and they aren't doing themselves any favors with that color scheme. I don't ever recall this particular shade of nicotine sputum yellow being in Vogue. It's also very cluttered. I started having doubts. Especially when they lead me to a tiny room with cases of pop stacked in the corner. More doubts, but I recognized the voice of the woman who I spoke to on the phone and again, she was very friendly. I told her it was my very first time waxing. In a way I pitied them. I have the eyebrows of an albino werewolf and they were growing into my eyelid. It wasn't quick, but at least it didn't hurt. I have to say...I don't really like it when people speak in their native tongue between themselves while they're working on me, like, right over my head. I get the impression the first girl didn't speak much English but I was a little uncomfortable. When I was finished, they recommended an eyebrow tint next time, to match my dyed red hair. Only $15 more. Not bad...I might just go for that. So how much do I owe you? $11? That's it? Awesome! Yeah, see you next time, for sure. And yeah, I'll get the tint too. Bottom line is this--I'm happy. I LOVE my new eyebrows and it took me two hours to stop touching them. (I got some strange looks while shopping at Canadian Tire.) The service was pretty friendly and the price was right. Atmosphere? Nothing. Service? Very good. I'd recommend an eyebrow wax, since you can keep your eyes closed, but I can't really see getting a manicure or a pedicure in that disorganized chaos. read more

I needed a color change on my toes in a bad way. So not only could they fit me in right now they were happy to do it. They brought me a water bottle immediately, and were more than willing to do as I asked. Little cluttered and not modern decor, but I was very happy with both my service and the fees which were lower than expected. I will be back!!! read more

A friend and I went for brunch at Cora and decided to pop in for a manicure afterwards. Not going to lie...I was a bit worried about the place when I walked in the door. No, it's not modern decor and everything is a bit dated but I felt it was clean (the bathroom was super clean). They sanitize all the tools (I watched) which is my biggest concern when going for a mani or pedi. Karen and her husband did our manicures. They were really fun, interactive and funny. We each recieved a bottle of water and they even made us some green tea which was really sweet. I had a regular manicure with the gel polish and she did a FANTASTIC job on my nails. She was very careful to make sure there was no gel on my skin and really took her time. For a $40 gel polish manicure...come on. You cannot expect a super lux spa experience. If you want that, go elsewhere. If you want a quick, good, cheap manicure...this is the place! read more

OK...so I read the other two reviews and feel like we weren't at the same place! I tried this place as my former salon had changed hands and was seriously declining. I walked in without an appointment and was lucky to get immediate service as it became a lot busier during my visit. I was given a gel pedicure and regular manicure by the owner, both of which were great. The owner's husband (who also gives services), provided each of us with a small plate of fresh cut honeydew and cantaloupe. Each client was provided with a bottle of water. On the way out, I got a candy for the road and a card promising me a free pedicure worth more than $30 if I visited the salon 8 times for services. I ask you....what's not to like?? read more

I went to get gel nail extensions here based on other yelp reviews, and was incredibly disappointed. Despite me asking twice that she was able to do gel, she used acrylic which I learned after having the nails removed by another salon the same day. The nails were very thick and the polish was very sloppy. The bathroom was not clean, and I'm pretty sure her husband, herself and their dog (although cute, very unprofessional and unsanitary) live in the salon across from the bathroom in a curtained area. She was however friendly and talkative, I would hesitate going for sleek nail extensions. read more

I like to try a place 2 or 3 times before I decide if it is the right place for me. This place was as reviewed for interior decor but that isn't what I care about. The place seemed clean and the tools are sterilized. The people doing my mani and pedi were friendly and definitely well experienced. My pedi was very lovely. Everything was excellent. I'm not sure if I would bother paying the $10 extra for the spa pedi but I have to admit it did feel wonderful. The mani was a little less than perfect but so are my natural nails. I have horrible nails and cuticles and don't usually get a mani. When I do it takes a few appointments to bring them back into decent shape. I found a little too much space between the polish and my cuticles for my taste as well as a couple of missed areas on the sides of my nails. As my nails aren't that nice anyway it didn't bother me but if my hands were really beautiful with nice nails I would have been disappointed. I will definitely go back and am hopeful that this may become "my" nail salon. I will update after my next experience. read more

Great for waxing, clean and not as painful as some people!!!!

My mom booked us an appointment to get pedi's and she was going to get me gel nails, as a birthday gift. At first it was awesome, our pedi's were amazing, the decor was outdated but the place seemed clean and they soaked all their instruments before using them, and the staff were friendly and offering us watermelon and water. My pedi was so good, it still is intact! However it went from pretty awesome to pretty crappy when I switched women to get my gel nails done. The woman who did my nails did a really horrible job. The fills are all bumpy and uneven, and I wanted the half moon look, but the red colour bled into the white part (Not to mention they don't look like half moons), and the nail lengths do not match up at all! I am barely into a week and a half of having them and already had two nails snap off!!! They shouldn't do that right away! Whoever did my nails, I feel like she just sped through them and I feel like they weren't worth the money. I wouldn't get my nails done here if it's done by the same person. Other than that it's a good place to get a pedicure and would recommend it to anyone who lives on the west side looking for a good pedi. read more

I decided to try Karen's nails on a whim one day. I went in for a pedicure and manicure. I had one woman doing my peducure and the owner said she would do a manicure for me at the same time so I wouldn't have to wait too long. She never finished the manicure. She trimmed my cuticles and put on nail polish but then a customer came in complaining about her nail that had broken so she completely abandoned my manicure and never came back to finish the job She didn't even put cream on my hands. Some guy came out of the back I guess it was a relative and he started to help another woman who came in for a pedicure. Very strange place.My pedicure was a little better than the manicure but I d never go back to this place. Big waste of time and money. read more

Went there with a friend this weekend for a manicure and walked out with the BEST Shellac I've ever had. The couple is absolutely wonderful! Karen took the time to make sure the manicure was done properly and gave instruction on maintainance. Her husband brought us Green Tea and was super sweet. I'm definitely making Karen's my go-to for manicures, pedicures, and waxing (and not just because my name is Karen). I've been there three times now, and I can't believe how well they fix my horribly callused feet. I was treated like a queen on my last trip; I had two ladies (Lana and Monica) working on me at the same time while I sat in a massaging chair and chatted or watched TV. I had facial waxing and it was the first time I've ever had NO discomfort or redness; plus she added an eyebrow tint. Although the place is a bit cluttered with outdated décor, it is very clean and the staff know what they're doing. It is a family run business and it feels homey. The best thing is that they do not overcharge and go the extra mile (example: hand-painted flowers on my big toes). For a full manicure, pedicure, and waxing (done in 1 hour) I paid half of what I expected from going to "upscale salons". Finally, I think it's a testament to good pedicures when middle aged men come in on their own; I witnessed two different men walk in and get their feet done while they watched sports on the TV. Such amazing service! Only two issues... I had acrylic nail and a pedi done. One of my thumb nails broke off only after 4 hours of having them on and it cost $7 to get it fixed. Secondly, when I had my pedi done, the next day I noticed that two of my toes polish had completely chipped off, not only did I feel a throbbing feeling on one of my toes, the next day and it turned out that I had gotten a ingrown toenail that had began to swell up.
