My friends and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. and the place was packed! I would definitely recommend ordering ahead of time on Snackpass to avoid waiting in the crowded store for your order to be prepared. I had a chance to try out the popcorn chicken and quite enjoyed it. The chicken was nicely breaded, freshly fried, not too oily, and very tender. While the chicken could've used a bit more salt or some more chili powder, I really appreciated that they included a generously sized container of sriracha to go with it. My wife got a mango matcha drink and I thought the mango puree at the bottom was over the top in terms of sweetness. I would highly advise against trying it on its own because the sweetness may cause a burning sensation at the back of your throat. I would advise you to mix the puree in with the rest of your drink to dilute it down. Lastly, I had hinted at it at the beginning of my review, but because the place is so crowded, it is definitely not a good place to hangout, nor a spot you want to hang out at to get work down. Binge Coffee House is more of a grab-and-go type of a spot. Definitely would drop by again to try a bahn mi or their popcorn chicken again. read more

Binge Coffee House is a cute little space with so many great options for drinks! Initially when you walk in, it does smell a little funky but it's likely from the pickled veggies for the bành mí sandwiches.. additionally there isn't much fresh air flow so it gets quite stuffy and warm inside the coffee shop. As for food & drinks, I enjoyed my Sesame Matcha & Chicken bành mí. The sandwich was delicious, chicken was not dry at all, herbs were fresh, and the bread was crunchy! All the key components for a great viet sandwich. If you're like me and like to split your food at restaurants, note that these sandwiches do not come cut in half & they do not have cutlery available for you to cut it on your own so you may have to ask the cashier to do that if needed. I docked down a star because I was hoping to get almond milk for my drink which was marked as unavailable which I was surprised by since it was only 11am but I do realize it's end of week. Overall great spot for a small bite & drink! Drinks here are bomb. Literally any flavor will be delicious. I've tried peach (peach is not white in color but great flavor), strawberry (classic and delicious), and pistachio (cream is such a treat - creamy and salty and pistachio flavor is great). Only issue I had is that it's very difficult to figure out which drinks have dairy. They offer dairy free alternatives but many of the drinks already have dairy incorporated. For example, all the Vietnamese coffee drinks have condensed milk, so my lactose-free friends - tread carefully. read more

Berkeley is one of our favorite spots to go for activities and good food. It has a plethora of matcha spots, so I was extremely happy when we found such an amazing spot so quickly. Oftentimes when the market is oversaturated it can take some time to find a true gem, but that's what binge coffee house is. We've tried their double matcha, strawberry matcha, banana matcha, blueberry matcha, and ube matcha. My favorite is the strawberry matcha, which uses real strawberries. It is delicious. The blueberry matcha was also good, but blueberries have a more subtle flavor, so the flavor wasn't as strong. The double matcha is my second favorite, with a powerful matcha flavor in both the foam and the drink. Being able to alter the sweetness of the drinks is also a deal breaker for me, and thankfully you have the option to do that here for most drinks. I do wish it was all. You can also alter the milk type on most beverages, which is good as my boyfriend and I are lactose intolerant. You can tell if matcha is good matcha or not typically if it has a grassier or sweeter taste, and here I can taste the grassy flavor, specifically in the matcha foam, which is a great thing. WOW! I'm really happy to have found some LA K-Town quality & style of matcha in the Bay. It's a little bit out of my way, and I find the flavor profile/type of matcha to be just a little too sweet & creamy for heavy repeatability, but it's undeniable that this is a really yummy, consistent spot for when that sweet treat craving hits. I had to help out at UC Berkeley for the Caltopia event and didn't get a chance to make coffee at home, so I looked for a spot nearby. I saw that Binge Coffee House had matcha and decided to give it a try. I ordered two strawberry matchas, one for my coworker and one for me. The drinks looked great and were really delicious. My only wish is that there was a way to mix the drink so the strawberry flavor is throughout, instead of just sitting at the bottom. Once you get to the bottom, the flavor is nicely sweet and very tasty. A stir stick would make it perfect. I ordered through the app, and when I got there, my drinks were already chilled in the fridge. I really appreciate that they keep the drinks cold until you pick them up. Too many places just leave pick-up orders on the counter, and if you're late, the drink ends up diluted. This was handled really well. read more

Been here a handful of times and I only come for the matcha latte with oat milk. I don't really lean towards other flavored matcha drinks so my review is for the iced matcha latte. I order it iced with 50% sweet and oat milk (califia farm). After the first couple times of trying this spot, it was in my top favorite for matcha lattes, the matcha itself was very smooth, umami but not bitter. I prefer it at 50% sweet instead of the recommended 75% bc the sweetness overpowers the matcha and you won't taste it as much. I ordered my drink a couple times in July and August and the matcha tasted different to me. The drink tasted almost too oat-y, like the oat milk overpowered the drink. :/ I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this. Because of these recent experiences, today I decided to try one of their coffee drinks, the coconut coffee.. The coconut milk was pretty prominent to me. It tasted like canned coconut milk maybe? There's always room for a good drink! Binge coffeehouse is a new place to me, as it replaced a former milk tea house that I had originally wanted to visit again. That is the thing about Berkeley, California. There are always new places popping up! Binge was packed, but the line, and the order is being made are done incredibly quickly. You order at the counter kiosk, and literally within moments your drink will arrive at the counter. I wanted to order the banana coffee, and I really wish that I had because it sounds absolutely delectable. Vietnamese coffee, banana foam... Just Yum. I ordered the banana Matcha, and absolutely was not disappointed. I love that they use ceremonial Matcha, but what's more important is that they tell the customer to shake the drink before enjoy enjoying it. This is an absolute must. It makes all the difference in the world for how you enjoy your drink. I don't mind ordering at the kiosk, in fact, it makes it far more efficient. What was rather bothersome is that there isn't the ability to control much about the drink that you're ordering. The size, the amount of ice, and even the sweetness. The sweetness for my drink had two options and I just ended up having to go with one of them because neither of them suited me. The customer service is pretty nonexistent since you are ordering on your own, paying on your own, and then going to the counter to pick up the drink that has been placed on the counter. If you have any questions, or need something, forget about it. They have one unisex bathroom that is heavily used. I'll leave it at that. Parking is pretty nonexistent as I'm sure this place is frequented mostly by students who will walk over from campus. The prices are decent. read more

A little corner cafe with lots of sunlight but not much seating. You order on a touchscreen, and everything is packaged to go, so I don't know how one would go about using one's own refillable cup, I ordered a Vietnamese coffee, and even though the picture on the screen was of hot coffee, I received a drink that was more than half ice. It was a December morning in the 40s, and not a great mistake. I wasn't able to explain to fix it, or they were not interested. As it was over $7, I drank it anyway. It was delicious, but still too sweet despite having ordered less sweet. Plus, as I said, it was over half ice by volume. I don't know if I would come back again, but I can see why this would be popular for people who like sweet and icy beverages. read more

My friend and I came here this past Saturday. While we were walking to the shop, we noticed several people with Binge drinks in their hand. This shop is very close to the UC Berkeley campus, and after we got our drinks, we walked around campus for a little bit. We got stopped by someone asking where we got the drinks since they, too, had noticed a lot of people with the same cups. It's a popular place! I love the selection of drinks here. They have ube, black sesame, pistachio, and pandan - all of which I LOVE. I was debating between the pandan and pistachio matcha. I ended up going with the Pistachio Matcha Latte, and it was delicious. The matcha was strong, which I appreciate. The pistachio was creamy and blended well with the matcha. Overall, it was a great drink and I highly recommend it, especially if you love pistachio. Although the shop is on the smaller side, they do have extra stools stacked in the back. I tried another drink from Binge Coffee House, ube matcha, 75% sweetness, oat milk. I really appreciate that the matcha was really rich and had strong savory flavor, so I imagine they probably used a good quality matcha (or at least a dense enough amount of it). The oat milk went well with it even though I'm typically someone who goes for dairy milk. I chose to drink it with a straw and mixed it a little bit so that the drink started out matcha heavy but I got to taste more of the ube cream at the top, which is sweet and has a good amount of ube flavor. This place was located on the corner of the street near a public parking which was so convenient. I thought this place was really good for someone who's only getting into matcha recently. As the picture looks, without mixing it, it was pretty bitter but after mixing, it was neutralized and tasted really good! It wasn't overly sweet which won me over. We also tried the Pandan matcha which I personally thought tasted more like Pandan than Matcha compared to the Strawberry matcha which felt more balanced in taste. I'm obsessed with Binge Coffee House! I always have to get it anytime I'm in Berkeley. The drinks, food, and customer service are always great. We ordered the Binge House Coffee, Egg Coffee, and Combination Cold Cut Banh Mi. The combination banh mi is so delicious. They pack it with lots of meat, veggies, and pate. The bread is crispy and soft. Everything is really fresh and tastes sooo good. The Binge House Coffee is by far my favorite! It's a classic vietnamese coffee with a salty sweet top and oh my goodness it pairs SO WELL together! I recommend this one if you don't know what to get. Binge is very similar to Da Vien in Orange County in both vibes and offerings. You order on a kiosk instead though,, which can be good to sift through all of their coffee and matcha choices. I got the pistachio matcha and it was very sweet even at "less sweet" and they ran out of almond milk. The matcha was alright, not grassy or bitter. The pistachio had a bit of an almond extract flavor to it. I would consider it a good dessert drink? Maybe I just needed to try the plain matcha. It was also expensive and the WiFi didn't work for my first 30 minutes there. Best egg coffee EVER. A must try and on the spot. don't wait or you'll regret it We heard about Binge coffee from a trusted coffee connoisseur so we had to stop at the OG location. Even at 6, all tables were occupied so we proceeded to the self-serve kiosk to order an ube matcha latte and egg coffee (50% sweet). We found stools in the back and waited ... just 2 minutes (no way, what?!) and our drinks were ready. The egg cream is so unbelievably creamy and delicious which complimented the strong coffee with just the right creaminess. The best way to enjoy is right away without the lid where each sip is a combo of cream and coffee blending together. I drank half at the shop and took the rest home. Unfortunately the cream dissolved/melted into the coffee so it just tasted like an iced coffee. so better not wait next time. The ube matcha latte was also good but I only had a sip Best time to come is at 6 PM on a summer weekend! Free street parking after 6 and students are home for the summer. read more

I really wanted to try their Cookie Butter but it was sold out by the time we got there (~3 pm). If you want a larger selection, I would suggest going in earlier. I had the Banana Matcha over the summer and rated it a 7/10. I wish there could banana infused within the matcha rather than just in the cream top. My dad tried their Banana Coffee this time around and said the flavor was too artificial. I'm not sure if they changed the recipe but I don't remember that being an issue when I had it. I also liked how they added nuts for crunch. This time I got the Tiramisu Matcha, which I will give an 8/10. I thought the cream tasted generic. I wish they implemented a marscapone cream flavor bc I did not get any flavor. I liked how they included the ladyfinger! Eat it fast bc one half broke to the bottom and turned soggy. The shop is quite small with limited seating. I don't think it's the best studying spot as the seats are cramped or are bench seating. People seem to go for coffee chats rather than working.
