The difference between LensCrafters and Bill Valentine Optical is night and day. I have never "loved" a pair of eyeglasses until the ones I just got from Bill. Bill has an eclectic variety of frames and although I was not sure what I was looking for, he was able to find the perfect (and perhaps literally one-of-a-kind) frame for my face. The lenses he put in the frame are the best I have ever looked through. I have a very strong prescription, and these lenses are the thinnest and clearest I've ever had, with excellent peripheral vision and almost zero edge distortion. I also purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses from Bill that are just as fantastic. I have primarily worn contact lenses for years, but these glasses are so good that I may retire the contacts. The range of vision with these glasses is nearly equivalent to contacts, and no dry eyeballs. As for pricing, the total I paid for both the eyeglasses and sunglasses was less than what I would have paid for one pair of glasses via a Luxottica-owned brand (LensCrafters, Oakley, etc.), and Bill's lenses are of far superior quality. Bill's prices are also not far above Warby Parker's, even though Bill's frames and fit are far, far better. OMG OMG OMG!! He has Vintage frames!!! I brought in a pair of frames and then saw all the lovely vintage frames, and ordered a lovely pair from the 1960's... he is working on them now. I have a feeling that I will be ordering more pairs of them probably very soon. Bill is very professional and personable. I found him very knowledgeable and friendly. His prices are very very good! aaaa my previous entry didn't go through, hopefully, this one does haha. It was my very first time visiting this place. The screw that keeps my glasses frames together had come off and I lost it because it's such a small thing so I checked this place out. I'm a full-time student so I barely have time to run errands so when I went there I met the sweetest man who said he'd fix my screw for free. Honestly, I felt like he was joking, but I really didn't get charged anything and I was so so surprised because he did such an amazing job and they're holding up perfectly! I went there on August 31 and definitely left with a pleasant experience. Besides finding a perfect screw for my frame he also adjusted my glasses so they fit my face, he went above and beyond and I'm so grateful for everything!!!! I'm not sure who the man I spoke with was named but he told me about himself, his studies, etc while fixing my glasses and honestly I learned a lot about him haha. Bill is a lifesaver! I brought in a pair of Tom Ford glasses that were badly bent to the point that I believed they were no longer repairable. I came in with a brand new pair ready to have the lenses swapped, and the new frames fitted. Rather than do that, Bill looked at the damaged pair, and he completely restored their shape in a matter of minutes. They look no different prior to the distortion. I have been going to Glendale Eye Medical Group for 35 years plus and after my exam went to get fit for new frames and lenses and the staff was all new and did not seem professional and when I asked for Bill Valentine the answer was he Retired I was not going to get my glasses there and left and found Bill Valentine got fitted and got my new Glasses, Bill adjusted my old glasses and I could see so much better they were never adjusted correctly but Bill did it in one minute so sad that Glendale Eye Did not know how valuable Bill is. I started work with a new company and they offered to make me 2 pairs of glasses. I stopped in at an Optometry by my house to get my measurements taken and sent it in with my prescription. When the glasses came back I couldn't see out of them. I knew I needed an expert and I have heard great things about Bill over the years from other Optometrists and opticians in the area.
