The atmosphere is wonderful, merging new with the long-standing traditions. Ok, second chance visit today. Went for breakfast the first time. Breakfast was way over priced and the hash browns were way undercooked. I didn't want to bring this to my waitress' attn because ethe service was already super slow. There was NOT that many folks there either so she wasn't slammed. She DID reek of cigarette smoke though. Visit number 2 a month later for lunch. The waitress pointed at a table and told us to go sit there. When we got to the table, it was filthy and still had a rag on it. So, the wife and I sat at the table next to it. That same waitress hollered, " they're terrible listeners and sat somewhere else." to apparently the waitress who was going to take care of us. Waitress one walked by our table and I stopped her to tell her that we WERE good listeners but the table was dirty that she wanted to seat us at. She shrugged and said it wasn't her table. I said great, but no reason to criticize someome for gladly seating themselves. She shot me glance and walked away. If she'd said she was sorry and didn't know or anything related to that, I wouldn't be writing this. I get that it's a diner, and probably short staffed and overworked, but that's NOT the customer's problem. That's a Bill Smith's problem. I don't give third chances so we'll happily pass. read more

I've eat at bill smiths in McKinney and here in town and let me tell you, there's a REASON why they have lines out the doors. We are so grateful they opened up shop here in town. It's honestly a service to the community. I've been at least a dozen times and hope to go several dozen more. My food's been excellent no matter what I order. And the new location has some cool updates; just all around great atmosphere. read more

Honestly it doesn't surprise me it's 3 stars restaurant it unfortunate because it's the only one in town, but after Saturdays breakfast I don't mind driving to our favorite spot Sunview Cafe in Melissa. I heard good things about this restaurant so I had to try it out. I wasn't pleased walking up to the building with someone smoking literally right outside of the door. Im sorry but who wants to smell smoke right before breakfast? Not to mention someone with a baby/child. Second the host (older lady with short dark hair) told someone with a party of 9 "nope no room" and just walked away, didn't try to talk and let her know it will be a handful of minutes. Third, it took way longer than it should have. Also when I ordered my food they couldn't substitute toast for a pancake? I never had a problem with that before at other restaurants... anyways the pancakes were really dry and did not taste like normal pancakes, it tastes like they had some kind of protein in them. It was a Thursday about 1 PM when my wife and I arrived. We sat down at a table that had to be wiped off, we noticed this was also the case with other customers. They took our drink order and I was informed by our waitress that they were out of tea. OUT OF TEA! I was a shocked not only that they were out but could not make more tea. While crowded, we were able to get a table. It was not clear if we should wait to be seated. The wait people worked hard. By 12:30 tables were emptying, so that would be a good time to go. There's a hair on the top fork, found one in the pancakes and one in the hashbrowns. The food was mediocre, their hot sauces are very clearly watered down, the water tastes like it came straight out of a shrek movie, my "toast" was medium rare bread, and on top of it my server treated me and my friends like trash. I'm a server too and I've never felt compelled to treat anyone like this, overall a very bad experience. I heard good things about this place, and the older lady who served us tried to make us feel stupid for finding a hair in the food, there was a young waiter who walked by named Amanda and actually helped us, God bless her and anyone who hopes for a good time here because they're not getting it. read more

The service is beyond amazing!!! Bill is still the cook and never disappoints. The blueberry pancakes are our all time favorite!! The Papa special gets you everything and the prices can't be beat!!!! Well my family and I were very excited to get to try this place but guess it will never happen. Arrived and as expected there was a wait for a table asked the name taker how long it would be before being seated so I could inform my party. It was then that a not so pleasant voice said 30 minutes to 5 hours in a very mean demeanor, by the way it was 11 am and they close at 2pm. This made it very clear that we were not welcome. Went for breakfast and it was underwhelming at best. Definitely not the hype that locals have made it out to be. Coffee was weird tasting but I think it's the water. Granddaughter had chocolate milk and the amount of chocolate they added to the milk was laughable, never seen a 4 year old decline chocolate milk. Orange juice was also watered down and had the same odd taste as the coffee. The pancakes and biscuits tasted like a flavorless generic mix. The waffle was a soggy and also flavorless. Service was decent but then again it wasn't busy when we were there. Overall I have had better breakfast at Waffle House. read more

This place is a disaster. The staff are not trained. They yelled at each other across the restaurant, blamed busboys for not doing their jobs, argued with each other and loudly asked who was waiting on which tables. When you walk in there is no hostess. Another customer had to tell us to seat ourselves. There is no sign telling you to do so. Then we waited for 10 minutes before a waitress even showed up and told us she would be back soon. She told us this several different times before actually coming back to take our order. The menu was done by an amateur. It had incorrect prices and was worded confusingly. They brought the wrong food by the first time. I got biscuits and gravy (which were not on the menu) and the gravy was luke warm at best. This was served to me in a basket. Biscuits and GRAVY in a basket...with holes in it. Like one you may get when ordering a burger and fries. It came with 4 biscuits but I was only served enough gravy for 1 biscuit. It took over 10 minutes to pay because nobody knew who was working the register. The lights also went out for a few minutes. The owner clearly has no restaurant experience and hired people who have no experience. Absolutely terrible and I wont be surprised if this place is closed down within months. One positive is my 5-year-old did seem to like her pancakes. read more
