Fish Sammich - delicious

Bill-E's has just gotten better and better. Their food is delicious and the ambience is outstanding. We ordered the Bacon Wagyu burger and the Fish Sammich. Both were delicious. They have a great selection of beer, as well.

Service and staff are amazing!! Wish we would've tried a hamburger though. Cute fun place to eat.

We knew we were on to a good thing in the parking lot! Colorful and quirky with a backwoods feel! We wanted a simple burger dinner ~ so we followed Yelp to Bill-E's. We both ordered the Old 27 ~ a burger with comeback sauce, lettuce, tomato and caramelized onions. Our server (thanks, Melody!) brought ketchup and mustard, but the burger was perfection as served ~ no additional dressing up required! Fries were simple, tasty and served hot. Altogether a delightful dinner in a fun place. We loved the music, too!! Outdoor or indoor seating, varied menu, kid friendly. We loved it! The outdoors with the Spanish Moss bedecked trees is never far away ~ and we did spot an intrepid short-lived roach (waitstaff shoes are QUICK!!) which in the end does yank a star away ~ but if you're hungry for a little something and you have a car full of family ~ you can feed them all here and probably have a story or two to tell later!

Driving back to Florida through Alabama and stop into Bill-E's, Restaurant and bar. Large outdoor seating small but cozy bar area with a few Hugh screen TV's We ordered a few beers on tap that were brewed on location and very tasty. For dinner we ordered half dozen wings cook with a sweet chile sauce that really gave the wings a kick then ordered a burger with cheese and home made famous bacon which we shared. I'm not a burger lover but the bacon really turned it up a notch. Served with seasoned fries but felt the portion was small. We arrived around 5:00 not too crowded, however when we left around 6:30 ish the restaurant was packed inside and outside. The service was spot on. Several people working and all attended to our needs. Everyone was friendly and happy!

GREAT BACON!!! This was a fun place to stop by for a beer and burger. Super friendly staff. Met the AG and he was a truly sincere and friendly guy who was proudly giving us a history of Fairhope and all the good things on the menu. The owner is a super good dude too and ships over 3000 lbs of bacon each week. Bill-E's is a MUST-Go if only for the bacon. We enjoyed the live music too.

The store oozes sophisticated, unpretentious, and warm charm from the immaculate and beautiful landscaping and attractive exterior to the decor and appointments that distinguish each of the several dining areas. As we were a party of six we were seated in what appears to have been in the original home, a small sunroom just to the west side of the front door. It is pictured below. We started with the iron skillet cornbread for the table which is surely the most flavorful cornbread I've ever had, rendered perfectly crisp around the edges by the cast iron skillet. I had a taste of the store's gumbo and it is the real deal in spades. The roux is a true dark chocolate colored roux taken to celestial heights by hearty shrimp stock. The perfect heat in the dish makes it sing. Next visit my wife and I will start with a shared bowl of this. I totally failed to photo document the meal save for my brother's stuffed quail which he declared outstanding. It is served atop a mound of gorgeous, dark green Southern cooked collard greens. I opted for the shrimp salad sandwich as I had just last week made a shrimp salad for the first time in my 77 years for this same group and wanted to see what a shrimp salad from a great kitchen tastes like. It is so enjoyable here. My one issue is with the bun it is served on. The bun is house made and delicious, but it's quite tall and firm. With the salad in this thing it stands probably over three inches tall. And being quite firm it will not smush down. Shack or Charles Barkley might be able to take a bite but I had to deconstruct it and enjoy it with knife and fork. I wish it were served on maybe the brioche bun the grouper is served on or even the crusty but softer roll of the steak sandwich. Everyone was quite pleased with their meal. We were pleased to meet both Chef Briand and owner partner Robert Evans. Our server, Chrissy, was super cordial, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive. This is all that one hopes for in a great restaurant experience.

Considering it is part of the same group that owns Hope Farms, that would be a reasonable expectation. This is a review of the first visit, which was for lunch The restaurant is beautiful with a great sitting area in the bar and very kind people serving you. The menu had great sounding options, with some really good food. The smoked fish dip was on point with the house made crackers on the side. We also had the waygu beef carpaccio which was melt in your mouth tender, luscious and had a really citrus sauce and definitely something I would order again. The entrees is where things were fine, but not "fine" in the best way. I had the grouper and it was cooked well and had a good sauce with it. The serving size was smaller than I expected, but it was lunch. Others with me had stuffed quail, and two ordered the swordfish tacos. They all liked the food. It was not remarkable. Also, while our server was really nice and kind, it was like she was trying not to bother us.... To the point that we could not get service we needed when we needed it - for example just wanting some salt...

Our service was good and the manager came out to explain our problem with the food. We had the southern fish and chips. The fish was served over sweet potato chips that are not made fresh to order. Ours were cold and rubbery. The flounder filets were hot, but served with some type of lemon sauce. The remoulade sauce the waitress brought out was better with it, but they didn't have tartar sauce. The slaw was good. The venue was nice, by the waterfront, with indoor and outdoor dining. Overall, I've had better seafood meals from cheaper places.

Very friendly people here. Our view was the kitchen, they seem to accomplish quite a alot for the kitchen size. Next she had the pork chop with peach and bacon chutney over pimento cheese grits. The Pork chop was perfect. The chutney, one bite was very heavy on the vinegar. I had the fried chicken tasso gravy, hot honey, marinated sweet potato. This was an exceptional dish and was full when I finished. It was a good experience. Given it was a Friday night at 6ish.
