Extremely disappointed with ATI Physical Therapy and their billing practices…read more Before I even scheduled my first appointment, I specifically asked them to verify my insurance and tell me exactly what my cost would be per visit. I was told it would be approximately $60. I intentionally waited several days for them to verify my insurance information before moving forward because I wanted to know the cost upfront. At my first visit, I was charged $65. It was $5 more than quoted, but I didn't make an issue of it. Now, approximately 25 days later, ATI is trying to charge me an ADDITIONAL $95 for that same visit. That brings the total cost of ONE physical therapy visit to $160. When I called customer service, I was told the original $65 was supposedly only a "deposit." That was NEVER explained to me. Had I been told that $65 was simply a deposit and that I could later be billed another $95, I would have never agreed to the appointment. What makes this especially frustrating is that I specifically asked for the cost BEFORE scheduling and gave them time to verify everything with my insurance. Their customer service experience only made the situation worse. Patients deserve transparency about what they are agreeing to pay. Quoting someone around $60, collecting $65 at the appointment, and then nearly a month later billing another $95 is completely unacceptable to me. I would absolutely NOT recommend ATI Physical Therapy based on my experience. If you decide to use them, I strongly recommend getting your expected TOTAL cost in writing before receiving any services.

ATI Physical Therapy is discreetly hidden in office building near the Baptist Hospital (Abrazo…read moreHealth) off Bethany Road in Phoenix. The place is easy to get to and parking is plentiful. Dion, the Clinic Director is just plain awesome. He is very knowledgeable, kind, and a master at his craft. He does not hesitate to share his knowledge to his patients and his peers. You can tell he has a love for his job and his craft which is hard to find. He does not make you feel small or insufficient which those feelings can sneak up on you. For me, my journey is a broken arm at 56, at an age when I am at my worst shape ever. overweight and riddle with arthritis. I have a long journey and have made so much progress. Dion and associates, Ed, etc, I have nothing but praise. These are a group of fun people that you wished you were friends with outside of work and are true professionals making this journey a pleasant one making one at ease. HOWEVER,**** When there is light, there is also darkness, and I am referring to ATI's Billing Department so any new patients' trend with caution. I had issues with their billing department where the associates do not return your calls or emails, there are no follow ups, and they have no common sense of flexibility. For the most part, they are pleasant on the phone but deliver no substance in their solutions or explanations and I had to go beyond them to get routine matters resolved on my own and bothering folks like Dion, something he does not deal with on a daily basis because it is not his job, but he cares and points me in the right direction. Would I go to ATI again in the future, yes, but I would make sure every step along the way is covered with insurance and billing issues. As I am in the final stages of my medical treatment, I have this cloud over my head, a dark cloud of "what if" with the billing department. My latest fight with the billing department will work itself out. I did everything I was supposed to do as a patient and also went the extra mile for my insurance company because I do not trust their billing department. If the billing department was not in this review, it would easily be a 5 star review.

I am especially grateful to Miss Andrea for her Knowledge, Patience and kindness. Thank You Miss Becca, Miss Diane, and Mr Chris, y'all made it easy for me to come in several times a week during an extraordinary year (not sure how easy I made it for y'all though) I will Always be indebted to these wonderful folks. She made me feel at ease and assured me that I would win this. I thought I'd never recover from this injury. My mobility is now at 92%. I certainly did not enjoy the recovery and pain. However, the staff at DHT made my therapy enjoyable (never thought I'd use 'enjoyable' and 'therapy' in the same sentence). Carlos-the ability to be myself and your humor got me through this. You're awesome and I'll never forget your gentle approach - except when you were stretching me, not so gentle :) Thank you for pushing me!!! Katy(sp?) - You're great, love your easy going personality and your ability to connect with patients. You have a bright future ahead, just focus on the end result. I've said this before and I'll say it a million times, if necessary - you're ALL amazing people providing extraordinary care!!!

The therapy from Sateva (sp) and Fredrico was amazing. They pushed him and encouraged him daily. We wouldn't be home without them! The nursing staff was mostly great. Not to end on a sour note... admin work/staff fell short. We got our admission papers on day 11! Felt like the case manager Anita may have been on commission.
