Great therapists with experience. Great clinic setting that gives more options than at home therapy (indoor gym/zen zone). Flexible hours.

East Valley Children's Center - We love Dr. Curran!

    East Valley Children's Center

Our experience at East Valley Children's Center with Dr. Curran was terrible from start to finish…read more The office instructed us to arrive 20 minutes early for paperwork, which we did, only to then wait an additional 30 minutes past our original appointment time. The exam rooms were outdated, with decor and unstable chairs that looked like they hadn't been updated since the early 2000s. When Dr. Curran finally entered, he slammed every door, cabinet, and item he touched, creating a very unsettling environment. He began the visit by asking me how I was doing, but immediately cut me off mid-answer to start another question. During the exam, without asking, he suddenly took a Q-tip and fished out the last of my newborn's drying umbilical cord. Since then, my baby's belly button has been bleeding for over a week. He also referred us to a urologist for a circumcision, saying they would call us, but no one ever did. When we followed up, we learned Dr. Curran had told the urologist our baby had a diagnosis we were never informed of, forcing us to schedule a separate diagnostic appointment before even addressing the circumcision. This was extremely concerning, especially because no one in the hospital ever mentioned this "diagnosis," and a second opinion confirmed there was no issue at all. To make matters worse, when we called the office to report the bleeding and ask about the urologist issue, we were told Dr. Curran would call us back. It's been over 5 days and we never received that call. This has been the worst doctor experience I have ever had. I would never recommend Dr. Curran or this office to anyone.

My…read moreDaughter was suffering from excessive spit, frustrating nursing sessions, difficulty with bottles, difficulty with pacifiers, in the 20th percentile for weight, throwing up at every meal, on medication for acid reflux since she was 2 months old and many many other issues. I had mastitis unfortunately and did not know all of this was related to tongue tie. With the help from a slew of professionals (Jacquline Kincer at Holistic Lactation) & ( Dr. Trobetta at Gentle Touch Chiropractic) we set up an amazing team for my daughter to have on her side. My daughter is 5 months old and was not rolling over due to her stiffness stemming from her mouth. She was on medication for "acid reflux" as prescribed by her pediatric doctor. After having body work at Gentle Touch Chiropractic and then having Dr. Bower Release my daughters ties she began to roll over and her "Acid Reflux" disappeared. We have no spit up, no throwing up of meals, no more medication and a happy baby. She is able to stick her tongue out of her mouth. I believed something was not right with my daughter and her pediatric Dr. told me any ties released would "naturally" release when she hits her face as a toddler. This outdated and terrible response to a concerned mother bothered me and Dr. Bower assured me that to prevent further issues releasing her ties would help her developmentally and wow was she right. My daughter finally fits into her clothes in her age group she isnt months behind anymore. Dr. Bower was professional and very calm when she took my daughter. She was swaddled and had homeopathic remedies that helped before and after the tie. She also showed me the stretches before the tie release and let me record her doing it so I would not forget. Everything about her was calming and inviting. She reached out to me numerous times after the procedure to make sure my daughter was progressing properly and asked for updates. I never felt alone or as if it was done and I would never see the Dr. again or have any random questions answered. I was always listened to and felt complete trust in her practice. I would recommend her over and over again to any mother struggling with their child. Even if your child is older its not too late to help them. I am so thankful she is apart of my daughters army! A decision I will never regret making.

Everyone was so amazing here, from front office staff, to nurses, and ultimately Dr Nguyen - she sold me, and I decided this is where I wanted my girl to come going forward. Their failure led to 24 hours of agonizing pain for my infant and long term health effects. He was vomiting the night before at 3 am. I called requesting an appointment that same day. First the person assisting me made it seem normal that an 8 month old throws up and acted as if I was overreacting. During the phone call, he vomited and I said I am coming in. No doctor office should make a mother feel like she's overreacting. Period. At the time I thought it was a stomach bug. Dr. Nguyen confirmed it could just be a stomach bug. I thought it was weird how she didn't check my son's diaper but I didn't question the doctor because I thought that maybe there was different physical evaluations when a baby is sick. I wish I said something...I went home and that night my son continued to vomit. All night in agonizing pain. I called the next day and informed them swelling on my son's testicles. This time the person I called to schedule another appointment said to go to the ER. My son ended up with testicular torsion and almost lost a testicle. This is a situation that every minute counts. A full 24 hours passed and my son could have been in surgery. He could have had lesser issues with the testicle that was twisting. Dr. Nguyen failed my son and cut corners. I called to inform the office what happened weeks later. While I respect that Dr. Nguyen called me to say to discuss the extreme miss. She verified that every minute counts with testicular torsion. Being in surgery a full 24 hours earlier could have changed the outcome of my son's health. She is not diligent in her role as an advocate for children. Particularly children that cannot speak. She should have caught that. I've talked to other pediatricians about her care and they said she cut corners and testicular torsion is a hot topic in school. It's difficult for me to think that she only cut corners with my son and he so happened to be extremely ill. I've sat on this review for weeks to ensure that I give a fair review. I think it's important to call out the doctor who failed my son. I thought about not saying her name. I hope she grows from this and learns by failure. However, I would not put my trust in them. She informed me they will review their policies to ensure diligence but it's too late for my son.
