My almost 5 month old has had terrible eczema since he was born. Dr.Mcclallan has been telling me to give multiple baths a day as water "helps moisturize skin". I'm currently in the ER with my son because his eczema is soooo severe all over his body and face. The doctor then tells me a baby in his condition with Eczema should NOT be bathed daily. That water dries it out. I will never bring any of my children back here. I feel this could have been avoided if he really knew what he was talking about. read more

If you are reading this review I hope you can see this is not a review based of anger but one of that I feel is truly needed based on their character and principles as a pediatric clinic. A few weeks ago I took my toddler son for a check up. Upon arrival I was immediately met with we have tried to call you and we have a problem with your insurance. They proceeded to inform me that in the past with other patients who had the same insurance as me they have ran into problems being paid. I explained to them that we have never ran into thy problem and that as a disabled veteran our insurance has paid for everything without problems so far. The lady at the front kept going to the back and speaking to another lady who eventually just refused to have a conversation with me and rather used the front desk as a middle mad to their refusal to see my 13 months older son. This included me begging for my son to be seen, and explaining that I will call them with them on the phone so we can verify they would pay, so their would be no confusion on this. I was informed they wouldn't do that. Wanting my son seen I asked if I could just self pay for the appointment. This is where they told me no because I had insurance. I asked them to explain why I couldn't self pay when I had insurance they wouldn't even take. It didnt make sense? She went back and forth again Then said they could not take self pay when I had insurance because our insurance wouldn't pay. I asked her if she heard what she was saying out loud and that if they don't take it and I will pay right now, I can deal with them myself to get refunded. At this point my wife asked me if I really trusted them with the car of our son even if I talked them into a yes. And that is when we left. That answer no, and neither should you. 1 Their priority is clearly money over the care of our children. 2 They unreasonably would not accept an insurance plan that is in place for Disabled Veterans families to get cover anywhere and everywhere. 3 this how the openly treat veterans and services members. 4 would not even give me the respect to speak with me about this and rather had an under qualified employee relating partial information back and forth. And was okay with this. Everything about this place says take your child somewhere else. Thank you for reading. read more

Receptionist is extremely rude every time I call, horrible look on the office as a whole. I asked to speak to her manager and left a voicemail to report the unprofessionalism I received and manager didn't seem to care as I never got a call back... that was 1 month ago after both children were in a MVA. Now I just called after son tested Covid+ and still received the same attitude. If she is miserable at her job perhaps she should find a new one so she can be replaced with someone more happy to be there working with kids! read more

Disclaimer, I did not make it past the initial phone call to get an appointment scheduled. The young lady that answered the phone was rude from the beginning. Her answers were short and curt. I felt as though I was an inconvenience to her. I was going to disregard her rudeness due to the Dr.s reviews. She asked me if I was vaccinating regarding the CDC schedule and I said yes, that's why I am calling my 5 year old needs a vaccine. I asked her if she was referencing the covid vaccine and she snapped at me. She was unprofessional and rude when I had insurance questions. I have never been treated so terrible by a person working in a pediatrics office. I can't imagine how they treat their patients in the office. Very disappointing. read more

The receptionist is rude, condescending and unprofessional. I cringe internally thinking about scheduling an appointment. Cathy Waldo is amazing and detail oriented. She makes dealing with the receptionist worth it. Please consider hiring nicer receptionists as they are the first impression you're left with. read more

Eight years and counting both of my kids have gone here, I cannot recommend their office enough. My biggest complaint with any medical office if their front staff. The front staff is truly the downfall of most practices, but not with All Star. Their staff always answers the phone, rarely cannot answer a simple question and if they can't they actually get back to you. If I could have them as my own PCP, I would. Appointments are always on time. I'm incredibly grateful we've found such a great pediatrician practice for my children. read more

I used them over 10 years ago. They never sent me an invoice or anything claiming that I owe them money. I had a new baby and reached back out and they informed me that I have a past due amount from 10 years ago that they never sent to collections and are now threatening to send me to collections 10 years later. They are unable to produce an invoice which I asked to see what the charges are. They said they're unable to produce an invoice to show what the charges are, but I still owe the amount regardless and now we're trying to send me to collections. She just called me to tell me, they are sending me to collections. Again, no invoice and haven't reached out to me in 10 years. This is all starting because I tried to use them again. read more

We decided to pick All-Star because of the reviews on Yelp. We had a new baby boy and of course before we left the hospital with him, they wanted to make sure we had a pediatrician picked so we did some looking and decided to go with them. Right away the couple of pediatricians that we talked to at the hospital commented that the entire team at All-Star was really good so that made us feel pretty good on our choice. We called and scheduled our baby and went in to their office. They were very polite at the front desk and our wait time was only around 5 minutes or less. Once we got back we met with Dr Milius who in our opinion was great! He was very direct with all of our questions that we had and answered everything that we asked. He did not "beat around the bush" when a question was asked which I respect. This was only our first appointment so time will tell, but as of now I am very happy with their team and am sure they will take good care of us going forward. If something changes I will make sure to update here but I suspect they all do everything they can to make sure people are taken care of. read more

My kids actually enjoy going to the doctor and if they find out we're going with one kid and not the other, they have us give him little messages from them! We have been seeing Dr. Mouser since my oldest was born 8 years ago! I have never felt like he has not listened to what I have to say. I do see reviews of rude front office staff, I believe I know who they are speaking about. I have not seen that person in a while. First time mom here. Office has been great so far! Been to the office 3 times now. Staff is nice and patient. Good with my daughter. Dr McClellan listens to all my questions and I don't feel rushed during our visits. But bring a jacket, the exam rooms are always freezing! read more

I keep coming to All Star Peds ONLY because of Kathy Waldo. If I was rating just her, I would give 10 stars! She's an amazing provider and I trust her completely. The front office staff and officer manager are generally awful. They sent me a text last year in March 2021 stating that it was time for my daughter's annual wellness exam. I immediately called and made an appointment. Went to the appointment and again nothing was said at the front desk. A few weeks later I get a bill for the appointment. (Wellness appts are completely free to include no copay with my insurance). When I contacted the office about the bill, I was told it was because I brought my daughter in two months early. Come to find out the wellness exam prior to this was May of 2020 so my insurance didn't cover it fully as it hadn't been a year. I tried to explain and showed proof that I was sent a text in March saying it had been a year and again when I checked in no one informed me. I was dealing with Belinda Ledesma who was rude and extremely unhelpful at all times. When I requested to speak to the officer manager, I was informed by Belinda that she was the office manager which was shocking to me. The insurance issue was 100% their fault and Belinda even admitted that the text two months early was a "technical glitch" on their part but of course it was still my problem. I also tried to schedule an appointment for my daughter two days ago for a medical issue. I will freely admit that it's somewhat difficult to get in with Kathy because she only works two days a week and my work schedule is not flexible to work with hers. I'm not upset about that but because of my work schedule I wouldn't be able to see Kathy until late February and my daughter's medical issue can't wait that long. I asked about a later in the day appointment. I was told they don't see regular appointments after 3:00 pm. I then asked if I could schedule with another provider than and I was informed that they don't allow that either. Their "policies" make it so difficult for full time working parents to get care for their child. This office needs a serious overall in the CSR department. If Kathy Waldo ever leaves, I will never come back to this place again. read more

I would use caution when booking here. Especially with the newest doctor on staff. Unfortunately, he botched out sons circumsition, and he has to have it redone at 8 months old, which will be more complicated. Just beware when booking. read more

This play went downhill fast after Dr Amy left. I had a well child physical for my kids with the new practitioner that took her place. I felt extremely uncomfortable on how he handle my daughters' exams. I came back to give them a second chance and requested a new provider but the receptionist told me even though we had been established there 5+ years I could not request a new doctor for my children as no others were accepting new patients. Dumbest thing ever, we are not new to the practice. So, I called Desert Shores Pediatrics that same day & switched all my children over. Let me first start by saying we had a good experience up until the last couple of weeks. Our children see Dr. McClellan. In regards to the previous posts about making same-day sick appointments, they are correct in that it is very difficult to get in unless you call first thing at 8AM... I always call first thing and most likely only get one timeframe that is available. We took our son in because he had a fever of 102, cough, and runny nose and I was concerned he might have strep (he goes to a preschool twice a week). We were told he had throat ulcers and that a strep test wasn't necessary because he typically only sees strep in children ages 2 and up or if they have an older sibling (our son is 17 months) and sent home with some over-the-counter recommendations. Fast forward to to the next day and our son still had a fever and wasn't eating, so I called the nurse triage and she told me they were still pending his strep test results. I told her the doctor never did a strep test and she argued with me that the computer says the doctor did, but that he would be in the office in a few minutes and would check with him. Sure enough, I'm not crazy, and the doctor confirmed with her that no strep test was performed and she then asked us to come in within the next 15 min to perform a strep test. My husband and son ran out the door to get there and the office wanted another co-pay, which my husband refused because he felt it should've been done the previous day. The front desk gal (who is not friendly at all and acts bothered when you go to schedule a follow up appointment) said it is their policy, but when my husband pushed back more, they waived it. They take my son's weight again, temp etc and then the doctor comes in and says, "So, what has changed from yesterday to today?" .......really? Your office told us to come in here for a strep test... The doctor STILL refused to do a strep test after checking him again. He did find fluid draining from our son's ears this time around, so gave him drops for that (I guess he didn't have drainage the day before?). Then we have our daughter... she went in for her two month check up the same day we took our son to get checked out for her throat. She had her two month vaccines that day and one is to be given orally. The nurse had her laying completely down on her back when she administered it orally and, to no surprise, our daughter choked and the projectile vomited everywhere. She had only taken half the vaccine, so I'm not sure if only receiving half of it is even effective. Almost a week later and she now has a cough and some congestion so we brought her in again. I was nervous she had RSV (she's only two months old). Same doctor said he THINKS it's croup, but wouldn't test her for the flu and/or RSV. He gave her one mL of a steroid. It's been two days and she's still coughing. I will say we are hesitant to take her back for a follow-up as I'm not confident their newest doctor is very knowledgeable. I've never had a doctor not test to eliminate the possibility of a specific illness. I can't speak for the other doctors on staff, but I will say I really like their nurse practitioner. She's very sweet and seems super knowledgeable. Also, Dr. McClellan is very nice too, but like I said above, I'm not sure he is as experienced. read more

Don't be fooled by this place. No one should ever take their children here. This review is strictly for Dr. Millus. He doesn't care what the parents want or need for their children. I am absolutely pissed about this doctor making false accusations against me. This guy literally called my phone and made BS accusations and never once apologized for being dead wrong. Not only that but in the past I have suggested tests that my child could benefit from and all he did was blow it off. I feel completely discriminated against! Parent's should allowed to make suggestions and the doctor should listen. It's not hard to find a another doctor. Dr. Millius accused me of manipulating him to do a brain test on my son and for requesting him to back date a authorization for behavior health services. I mentioned to my child's Psychologist that Dr. Millus feels that I'm trying to manipulate him and its dishonest to back date the referral that She told me to ask him to do. I have No need to manipulate! For the record if I have to go as far as to manipulate you to do a test to help my child your not a very good doctor and I would never waste my time going that far. I would just find a new doctor. My Suggestion for this office learn how to be more professional. I have felt uncomfortable with this doctor for a very long time. I always felt something wasn't right. He never seemed genuine with myself or my child. He just finally confirmed my suspicions. I have never been disrespected by any of my child's doctors ever up until now. What doctor's need to understand is that without patients you don't have a job. So be mindful of how you treat people. I feel that this doctor only treated me this way because I'm a women of color. read more

My son has been going to all star since he was a newborn! We love doctor Millius. Great service every time

We absolutely LOVE Dr. Milius! I'll begin with the basics; never rushed out of an appointment, very thorough, seems to truly care about his patients (and parents). The rooms are all different themed and the kids love it! Someone mentioned the new location and phone services--I have called a couple times and had to leave a message, but I feel that is normal and I always receive a call back in a short time. In addition, there is a patient portal where you can email your child's doctor to ask medical questions, prescription refill requests, etc. In 2013, Dr. Milius found a heart murmur (that the hospital missed) on our 3-day old daughter. He explained that murmurs are somewhat common and it's nothing we need to worry about right now. As time progressed (6 months of age) Dr. Milius let us know it's time we get this murmur checked that it had changed, but not in the way he wanted. Sure enough our daughter had a heart defect and required surgery. Our daughter's heart surgeon was impressed and grateful that Dr. Milius had caught this. No matter where we reside Dr. Milius will always be our children's doctor! read more

We LOVE everyone here. Dr. Mousser is such a kind, friendly and very thorough doctor. All of the nurses remember us when we come in and Bailey at the front desk is an absolute sweetheart. I never feel silly or rushed with my long list of first time mom questions when I'm here, which I appreciate. Dr Milius has been the pediatrician we have used for all three of our kids, and we have absolutely loved him as a doctor. We also have really loved Kathy - she is fantastic. However, as of lately their wait time has been insane. We'll get called into a room almost immediately and we usually end up waiting about 40 minutes before being seen. It's close to impossible to get a same day sick appointment if you don't call exactly at 8 am.. and then when you need to go to an urgent care when All-Star is too busy and you call their triage nurse to ask if Milius would have treated the same way, their triage nurse will only end up confusing me whenever I call for answers. She'll never give helpful parameters to look out for and will basically give a list of all the potential causes. Also if Milius tells me to call if my child gets worse so he can send in for medication, the triage nurse will tell me he never said that and push back. Also, Milius told me I could bring my newborn for a weight check without booking a full apt, and the front office staff wouldn't allow it, and then when I asked if they could ask him bc he told me otherwise, they said they couldn't. As much as we have liked the doctor, the frustration of dealing with the practice is enough to cause us to look elsewhere. read more

The secretary said the doctor wouldn't see us. Would have been cool for the secretary to squeeze us in still. All-Star Pediatrics and Dr. Mousser are the MVPs of pediatrics. Dr. Mousser is extremely thorough and very talented at what he does. By this, I don't mean just his knowledge in the field of medicine but his personality and ability to make your child feel comfortable in his office. Not a fan of all star. First of all I took my son here for the first few years of his life and every single appointment I was waiting an hour in the waiting room before being brought back so their scheduling is terrible. If it's consistently that long clearly the scheduling needs to be fixed. I will say Kathie is a very nice lady if you do take your child there. Then they would bill us but never actually send a bill so we wouldn't know when we owed anything or not. It got up to about $270 and then when I called to make my son an apt because he was I'll they refused me because we owed money. We NEVER got a bill for what we owed or got told when we went in. I did not have the money to pay right away as I was not expecting it and they refused him, so I had to take him yo a different doctor for an emergency visit to get him medicine. Move back to recently and I call and make an apt for my son for next week after I paid the balance and they make the apt. Called today to move the apt closer because he needs medicine and they tell me "oh you went to a different doctor so you are no longer a patient of ours anymore we can't see you". Like WHAT?! After I had already had an apt and paid. So i now have to take him back to the doctor he's been to once vs the one we started him with as a newborn (he's 4 now). Terrible customer service, terrible billing and horrible scheduling. I have never had an issue with their doctors but every other aspect of this company is terrible. I moved to AZ from California and just called this office and asked about making an appointment for my daughter. The nurse who answered the phone wasn't exactly rude, but she was not helpful at all. I explained that I signed my daughter up through my insurance website for Dr Mousser, and she said, "Actually, we aren't accepting any more patients." I asked her if she could recommend anyone nearby. She answered, "Not really." My reaction: Yikes. I expected a friendly office with intelligent people manning the phones. I got a woman who could not care less since I'm not a customer. read more
