The first time I showed up to meet with my therapist, they were confused and out of sorts. From phone calls going unanswered to what I later discovered were completely unreturned to a bit of an over the top effeminate voice using more S's than a snake, espousing that calls were returned and he/it could prove it while others in the background contradicted her, we knew it was time to take my business elsewhere! Not worth the drama! And of course, the business owner couldn't be bothered trying to save a customer as they truly cannot deal with people expecting to be treated fairly and with dignity. Lying in any way is reprehensible, but the types of lies the front desk staff attempted were so pathetic, they had to be called out here. When anyone is truly ignorant enough to state that they called you (without simply putting 2 + 2 together, realizing that every call is captured) and you can show them that in fact no call was made from them or received by you, it kind of deflates the case fairly quickly. How about just a simple apiology? Well...I'm glad they didn't tell the truth or have the owner return my call. I found a much more credible therapist with nicer facilities and far less crowding. It's a shame as CeCe, Anthony and some other therapists seemed like great people with solid futures. Then again, it won't be difficult to find a place with better leadership and a more caring and competent staff.

Afterward, my insurance paid $23. Then the clinic billed me $800. When I went back to ask them to honor what I was told--or at least work with me on price given their guidance--they refused. I asked about a self-pay option; they said no because my insurance had already paid $23. No flexibility, no ownership, no accountability. From my perspective, this is the definition of a bait-and-switch: reassure the patient about coverage to green-light the visit, deliver a token insurance payment, then dump the real cost on the patient and refuse to make it right. I left feeling misled and out hundreds of dollars for a "test" they weren't confident would help in the first place. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this practice to anyone. If you do go, get every "coverage" assurance in writing, ask for CPT codes up front, and verify directly with your insurer--because the verbal promises I received were worthless. I won't be back.

But we are more willing to make the 12-15 min drive for better care than someone who shoves their agendas down you kids throat. The only dislike we have is their time frame when it come to call outs. Since my son is in kindergarten from 7:40-11:45 and our appt is always at 1 we never know how much he will be able to tolerate after he gets out of a school. So if he is having mental breakdown they don't care. You have to bring them in otherwise you start getting charged for each missed appt. Starts to really add up. There are days i really want to pull him because of their policy. But because of how much progress he's made there we haven't pulled him.

How on earth does this help with emotional regulation skills? How does forcing a child who struggles with fine motor skills benefit from this? It's appalling that an educated person would think 1. I had a urinary tract infection which they didn't get around to treating, wrong antibiotic, needed both a culture and sensitivity to find what works, until just before I developed urosepsis. They missed the signs but my friends noticed immediately that I had become confused, convinced them to call an ambulance to take me to the hospital. If my friends hadn't shown up, I would have gone into septic shock. Plus the hospital found benzodiazepines in the toxicology screen. They weren't prescribed. My daughter was very upset as she almost lost me.

I had the opportunity to work with Miranda and her team. The care and encouragement I received was amazing. I wasn't just a number. If I needed to be there beyond my appointment, the therapists would continue to work with me. I was never rushed out the door. They answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. I may have been in pain, but they always had me laughing and motivated me throughout my recovery. The goal was to reach "functional" range of motion.
