Regarding Piller in general, not this specific location, per se... There is no direct interactive method of coordinating with this practice. No in-person front desk. No live-person phone assistance. Cancellations have to be by my email. Otherwise they canalize you to use a parent portal for all concerns which is glitchy and slow to respond. As a provider myself, I would never adopt these methods in my practice. It adds to parent frustrations instead of facilitating coordination of care. read more

Parents beware. This establishment does not treat your child like a human. This clinic has continually failed to offer adequate communication and billing services. Tammy D was my child's speech therapist and it is a shame this is where she works. She is a wonderful therapist who is great with children, however this review is for Piller Child Development. The impersonal experience of scheduling, arriving, canceling appointments, and billing should be considered neglectful. We have been billed without authorization twice now. Please take your child elsewhere to save yourself the harassment from the front office. If you refuse to place a card on file (for them to charge several hundred dollars incorrectly, multiple times), they will threaten to drop you as a client. To Karen, I have expressed how important they are to our family and our child and our worries with being charged incorrectly, and they placed a note in the file, and then charged us incorrectly again a few weeks later, without authorization. The lack of customer support and service is unsurmountable. Karen, you deserve a better place of employment. Avoid. Avoid this clinic at all costs. We have found the services through the public school district and other private clinics to be much more helpful. Please, do yourselves the favor of finding ANYWHERE else. read more

If I could give this place a zero star I would! I went to an evaluation for my child and as you walk in there is no one at the front office working, which was a little fishy. Then we wasted one hour and all she did was ask me a bunch of questions instead of evaluating my child. They originally advised me that there would be availability for weekly sessions before I even came to the appointment. After the evaluation they notified me that they have no 1 hr sessions available and only 30 min and that every week it would be a different person with my child. What? How is my child supposed to be comfortable with a new person every week. Then they mention that if there are any cancellations I would be charged. The part that really upset me was that I didn't want to put a credit card on file and they text me that without a card on file my child won't be able to come to the appointments and for me to go elsewhere. Then there were billing issues as they didn't bill my insurance correctly. Good luck getting a hold of someone there! Everytime you try and call no one answers the phone and it's all by text messages. The billing lady even removed half of her phone number from the email signature so that we wont call her. What kind of place is this? Someone really needs to evaluate this place! I spent numerous hours and wasted so much of my time and my child's time! Stay away!!! read more

Overall, Piller Child Development has terrible communication and their billing department is very difficult to work with. When you call the office no one ever picks up. Our weekly charges per appointment have been all over the place, from $40 all the way up to $120 with no communication as to why. We are charged inconsistently as well...sometimes we are charged the day of the appointment and other times we are charged weeks later. For example, we canceled service with Piller due to these issued over 3 weeks ago and we were just charged for 2 appointments at once that occurred over 3 weeks ago. Do yourself a favor and find a business that will not only support your child but also pick up the phone when you call and bill you consistently! read more

I would give this company a zero out of 10 if I could based solely on the people who run it. We have faced multiple billing issues with them from the beginning, including an extended period of time where they were billing us 2 to 3 times the amount that we should have been paying. This company requires you to leave a card on file with them so they can just charge you for whatever they want whenever they want. When I explained that I did not feel comfortable leaving a card on file because they had been charging us over what they should've been charging us, and I only noticed because I checked the EOBs, I was told that I could leave a card on file or find somewhere else to go. When your child has a disorder where they need these therapies, that is so disheartening as a parent to hear. I had to pull my children from this facility. I would not recommend going here unless you have 1 million dollars in the bank that you don't mind them charging you whatever, whatever. It is extra sad because the therapists here are lovely, and my children loved them and now I have to try to find somewhere else for my children to go. read more

We had an incredibly positive experience at Piller. This is the first place my son (2) did therapy and he had a difficult time with it at first. After doing intensive OT for two weeks, he loved it and began to thrive. His therapists, Liz and Leslie, were incredibly attuned to his needs and treated him with kindness, patience, and importance. From what I understand, though Piller does all types of OT, they are very honed in on sensory integration through OT. We saw almost immediate positive changes in my son's temperament and emotional regulation. The rest of the staff was incredibly kind. They did sometimes forget to bill a session, but would always let me know if they needed to bill for more than one to catch-up. This was an insignificant issue when compared to the progress I saw in my son. read more

0/10. I should have listened to other reviews. We were being cancelled weekly at the last possible moment. Scheduling issues on their hands right and left. Always being told "more therapists are being hired." For months. How are children supposed to grow with your facility if you're not seeing them and giving them the tools you promised? How about stop taking on new patients if you cannot handle the ones you currently have. I pulled my 4 children last week due to a cancellation 30 mins before my son's speech therapy appointment. I walked in to sign him and 2 other children in for OT services and went back to my car to wait. I received the cancellation text 30 mins before his appointment. Why didn't she call that morning? Why didn't she say something when she noticed I walked in to sign everyone in? Then when you ask to speak to the owner, everyone gives you the run around about giving you their contact email. Then they refer you back to the incompetent "manager" when you finally get an email to use. Don't waste your time at this place. Therapist leave weekly. They cancel weekly. Don't ever offer to help with rescheduling. read more

This place is questionable. They will be reported to my insurance, DDD, and the State about what happened with my son on multiple, occasions. I've worked in behavioral health for 20 years and have never known and OT to restrain a child for non-compliance. Be careful. Check elsewhere or keep close tabs! My sons first appointment they canceled and didn't tell us. They then put someone else on his time slot and said there was nothing they could do. His second appointment they called to tell us the therapist was on vacation 45 minutes before the appointment. When we showed up for his third appointment they had no records of him having an appointment, even though they confirmed the appointment on the phone when they cancelled the previous week. They said they would call the next day to get things straightened out. They didn't. They also charge the same amount for 30 minutes as they do for an hour, and good luck getting an hour. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Let me preface this with I'm a Certified occupational therapist assistant but work in geriatrics, so peds isn't my area, and when I took my son to them, it was anything short of problems. Flash forward to a year later and I kept getting invoices sent to me for something that was taken care of, however the invoices kept piling in. I would call to speak to billing and no one would call me back. It took over two weeks to get this sorted out. You would think it ends there but nope! I get another invoice for a different client. I can see this child's name on the invoice so this is concerning to me because not only are they trying to collect again from me for an amount that is not mine but they have this child's name released to me. I find this incredibly careless on so many respects to this very incompetent billing department that is seemingly run by a bunch of high schoolers. As a therapist myself, please do yourself a favor and find a better place for your family. I wish I would have talked to my peds friends before taking my son here and steered clear. We attended this facility for a month and 1 day. They were awesome to get us in for the eval as they had a cancellation and we jumped on it. We discussed during the eval a recommendation for speech therapy and occupational therapy. Immediately we started the speech. His therapist seemed constantly sluggish like she was not interested in his care (we paid $75 a session for one hour a day 1x a week) she would cut our sessions short by 10-15 min and I found that odd and immediately said something to the front desk. They still continued to do that so after my third session I expressed our lack of interest. And immediately was told it won't happen again. So 4th session she starts expressing he needs an eval for occupational therapy (I thought we did that initially ) so I questioned it and she said no it's an additional cost! So again I'm angry and how I'm still not getting much communication on what our goals are and any homework or future plans. I never even received a report for his initial evaluation. They sent it to me and I read it and again it expressed how my child requires OT. His therapist still continued to show a lack of interest in keeping my child engaged. We then lost our medical insurance and I was already overall disappointed and couldn't justify spending extra money on a session cut short and his therapist lacking communication with me as well as her interest in aiding my son. Aside from his therapist who wasted our time the facility always smelled gross, it was dirty. Ans their staff members didn't wear shoes on any of the mats the kids played on nor did I see them sanitize the toys they used which we'd help walk them to the storage closet. Unsanitary to say the least. After I expressed we would no longer have medical insurance and I've had my frustrations and we are going to look elsewhere someone says they can sign us upwith a different therapist and put us on a plan for income assistance. I was angry due to the fact that I communicated constantly and after the 5th complaint all in a matter of a month a 1 day mind you, someone wanted to help us. I was burned on and we pulled my son. A month and 1 week later I get a random charge to my bank account from the facility and I called and the front office couldn't explain why since I paid every session and even out of pocket with no insurance his last session and she's have a manager call me. Still waiting on that call. Ive also witness how they discuss other Childrens treatments and sessions in the lobby for everyone to hear (that's if you get a therapist who actually communicates with you) which is against HIPPAA. My son started services here a few years back after a friend recommended it. I am so glad she did and feel so fortunate for how much work they did with my son. He made huge improvements in fine and gross motor skills and in his executive functioning. What I noticed at home was that he learned to control his big emotions and Piller gave us tools to use in the home when he was on sensory overload. After two years of service we were able to terminate services because all goals were met. I feel indebted to their amazing program because of how much healing they brought to our family. We are on private insurance: This company is disorganized and inconsistent. This posting is the result of seeing a plea on FB about social media response being negative and the people posting negative comments not responded to direct contact. I've never posted a negative comment on social media but the FB post pleading for positive feedback cued me into this. Pillar has a high turnover rate. I don't know much about the industry but as a parent of a kid with special needs I can attest to the fact that our children need consistent providers in their lives. I can also attest to the fact that Piller does not provide consistent provider ship in that, in as much as our child has seen in about two years, three providers in two therapeutic disciplines. I don't appreciate being called 45 minutes before an appointment to tell me there are no providers to facilitate that appointment and then being called 20 min after the appointment should have started to tell me we missed the appointment and would be billed. Their therapists are great but the company management is leaving a lot to be desired. Asking for positive reviews on FB for their yelp profile seems to be a desperate plea after their crappy management is leaving parents like us to have to figure out alternative therapy resources. read more
