Mandy has a very high staff turnover! I do NOT recommend advanced PT. Her staff has threatened my life. Mandy did nothing about the threat she witnessed, so I quit. Mandy called me twice to convince me to come back. The first week back her tech would NOT let the staff talk to me. The second week back her staff wasn't allowed to talk or work on me. The average visit lasts 2 1/2 hours, not worth the time or money. I was there for 6 1/2 years before staff turnover. As a medical provider I work with doctors and physical therapists from the entire state of AZ Advanced Pt could have the worst patient care I have ever seen. To not work with other medical cohorts to find answers for patients is simply unexceptable and to ignore doctor Rx is even worse. Would not send a family member how can in send the public. I have shoulder pain and limited range in both arms plus back pain. After being checked out by the doctor, he recommended Physical Therapy. I came here because my wife had rotator cuff surgery and did so well and now has full range of use. I now have much greater range of motion, less pain and am able to do so much more! Mandy has healing hands gifted to her by God. I first start coming here a couple years ago, totally broken. I was in a dirt bike accident were I broke 14 bones, 4 ribs in multiple places, punctured my right lung, completely shattered my scapula and my and clavicle. I now have 3 titanium plates, 29 screws, multi lever discectomy. Kids don't try this at home... I've spent count less days here returning to, no, actually stronger than before. From the moment you walk In the door two very nice and sweet ladies start the process of making you feel like family. Her entire staff is amazing, there all caring, loving, and wonderful. Ryan always makes sure I have a cold bottle of water in my hands when I get there, thanks buddy. That all do there job with compassion and always to the fullest. I'm now moving from the valley out to Nashville and I'm sad to say it's time to say goodbye to my new family... thank you Mandy for bringing me back to life. If you want to be about the business of healing as fast as possible, this is your place. Mandy knows her stuff, especially for athletes. Brought my son here for his injury on a recommendation instead of where I'd gone in the past. I was so impressed with how thorough his treatment was, I ended up having her check out one of my injuries and getting service. Here is why I recommend: 1- I didn't need a doctor referral. I just made an appointment and was evaluated. 2- Affordable. I dont't have health insurance and am used to going cash method. Was SO pleased with price. Here I get a LOT of ban for my buck! Heat, ice, ultrasound, etc. all in a package instead of as a previous therapist office where I felt "nickeled and dimed." 3- Hours. Early in the morning? They got those. Evening times? They got those too! Mandy is a hard worker, always here and ready to do what it takes. 4- Therapist attitude. Even though they give you free bottled water, she's not running a country club. She wants to get to the heart of the problem and get it healed well and as soon as possible. For an athlete, this is a must. This is a great place for elite athletes. At the same time, she's got elderly patients for whom I have observed her adapt to their speed and comfort. In the main therapy area are women and men, all ages and stages of life. It's impressed me how personable she is as she moves from patient to patient taking a personal interest in each. She knows them and is empathetic. Sometimes injuries feel worse before better and the emotional support through healing makes a big difference when you're hurting. It's a busy office and they make it work like no place I've ever seen. Get in, tell them what you need. read more

If you are considering taking your child to Advanced Physical Therapy, I truly hope you reconsider. We brought our 4-month old baby in for torticollis treatment a few months ago and it was the most frightening experience I've had as a parent thus far. Prior to stretching, Mandy used a laser therapy wand on my daughter's neck and stated it would help to loosen the muscles. I've since been told this is not an instrument typically used on infants. She quickly tilted my daughter's head from side to side in such a way that it appeared to be perpendicular or nearly perpendicular to the rest of her body. My husband and I became very concerned, but were warned that new parents have a difficult time seeing this treatment. Mandy assured us that the therapy would be uncomfortable, but not painful. However, my daughter cried the way she did when she had colic. She was so upset that she would scream and run out of air. I told myself I was just being a sensitive new mom and brought her in for a second visit. This time, the stretches lasted longer and seemed even more aggressive. Mandy even made a joke about my daughter popping a lot as she stretched her. That was the last time we brought our daughter in and I deeply regret not retrieving my child from her long before then. We had stopped using Advanced Physical Therapy for weeks when Mandy left me the most unprofessional voicemail. She stated things like "...you thought that the pt was just too much for you or too emotional." She offered to adjust her therapy saying "something is better than nothing, at this point," even though I had informed her staff we would be seeking treatment elsewhere. After seeing my daughter's torticollis completely corrected with a new therapist who uses NO manual stretching whatsoever, I feel very strongly that the stretches being performed by Mandy on infants are unnecessary and far too aggressive. I've since reported her to the Arizona Board of Physical Therapy. They advised me they would be investigating her, but I am not sure what has come of it since then. I did see she's been disciplined before. It's public record. read more

My wife has gone here for several years and keeps coming back with bad stories of this or that. This time it was her turn. Yesterday morning she was fine and went in for a regular session during which she was injured to the point she could barely walk. She spent the rest of the day in bed because she could not move. I took time off from work to come help her. She had called them and they told her to come back the next day and they would check her out and see if they could help. I was busy and could not go with her. She went back in and worked on her a little and she said it helped a little. The part the got me frustrated is that they charged her for the return visit to try and fix what they screwed up in the first place. That just doesn't sound right to me. Maybe I can charge them for the time I took off work because of this. When I did have time to go by and talk with them about it they were closed. I am not willing to take more time off work or out of my life to deal with them and their greedy demeanor. WTF, charging to fix your own accidents. Today was her last visit there. Ever. read more

Walking into Advanced Physical Therapy was one of the worst mistakes of my life. I am a smart, educated, person and I missed many warning signs and red flags. I was there for pelvic therapy and while I was initially referred by my pelvic surgeon to a different pelvic therapist, the wait to get an appointment was 6 months. I was able to get in to see Mandy the next day. I was always there for at least an hour and a half because they were always overbooked. They had way too many patients per staff ratio so most of the time I was on my own to do exercises and had to wait for 10-15 minutes (sometimes 45 minutes) for the therapist to come and work on me. Mandy always put gloves on before she came in the room to perform internal pelvic work on me, which is extremely unsanitary. She walked around dressed very unprofessionally and in general the office dynamic was unprofessional at best. She always manipulated my spine and practically dislocated my shoulder because of how aggressive she was. I eventually had to ask her to stop doing it because it was hurting me (to which she mocked me in front of staff). She ended up hurting me and I reported her to the physical therapy board. She brought a lawyer that essentially called me crazy and said I was setting her up for a lawsuit. Well there is no lawsuit- but I would like to warn the community, and especially any female patient who needs pelvic floor therapy, to choose someone else. Spare yourself what I went through and take a minute to look up her license under the Arizona Board of Physical Therapists (and any other physician or health professional for that matter, since it is public record if they have ever been disciplined). You can find the allegations under the Board Meeting that took place on August 22, 2017 (again public record). Make sure you research who was with her on her behalf. It only takes a few minutes to do research that I wish I had done. Don't ignore warning signs like I did- I will regret it for the rest of my life. read more

Went there for physical therapy following hip replacement surgery. I was so impressed with the efficiency, knowledge and most of all the caring way I was treated. Mandy and her staff were amazing. Although they were very busy all the time, they took time for not just me, but everyone I saw while I was there for my numerous appointments. I certainly hope I don't need them again, but if that happens, I would not hesitate to return. I am walking strong!
