This was not the first time we've used Bilco Lock and Safe, but it will be the last. The technician who came to our workplace to repair a door lock talked excessively throughout the visit, but the bigger issue was that he made multiple racist and misogynistic comments while on site. It created an extremely uncomfortable environment, and I could not wait for the appointment to be over. I regret not addressing it directly in the moment, but we needed the repair completed and did not feel comfortable risking the technician leaving before the job was finished. Professionalism matters just as much as the repair itself, and unfortunately this experience fell far short. read more

Came in to talk about locks for a business of mine. The person who works at the storefront gave me their installer's contact info to come out and quote the job. It came to around $3k of work, so this is not a small job. After 4 weeks of back and forth with him saying the locks were out of stock, I eventually realized this guy was giving me the major runaround. I eventually called another company who was far more professional and eager to get my business. They came and took a look at the task at hand, went to the supplier and came back same day to do the installation. All in all, this company lied to me and wasted my time for 4 weeks saying the part was out of stock nation wide. The other company I used (Giddy Up Locksmith) was able to do the job in one day! If you are wise you will take your business elsewhere. They just missed out on a $3,000 job. Glad I trusted my gut and went with someone else! read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mom. She recently locked her keys in the car. Another company quoted her labor plus additional fees depending on methods used to unlock her car and gave her an hour window. Fortunately, she came across Bilco who quoted her a flat fee and a window of 15mins. Ed arrived and was able to unlock her car and provided her a spare key at no additional charge. My mom, who is very hard to please, was so thrilled with Ed at Bilco she pocketed a few of his business cards and told everyone how happy she was with the service. read more

I am extremely disappointed in the customer service at this establishment. I live in Oak Cliff and wanted to promote a locally owned business. When the handle on my front door seemed loose and wasn't taking the key right, I called Bilco to come out. They told me the handle was just loose and tightened it. One month later, the handle completely broke off in my hand as I was leaving for work -- I could not even close or lock the door. I called them to come back out and while they came the same day, they charged me another $75 fee for the visit, even though I told the person on the phone that I was calling for follow-up on the same problem that I had a month before. He said I'd have to speak to the owner, who wasn't in that day, and if I wanted my handle fixed, I'd have to pay and sort it out later. I called the very next day - again, being told to wait to speak to the owner. Fast forward to several calls later, I finally receive a call from the owner, who says she will look into the records and call me back soon. I have never received a call back. After all of the efforts I made to reach out to them, they should have credited me the fee as they told me the policy was not to charge another service call fee when it's for the same exact issue that I tried to fix a month before. Not only should I never have been charged, but when I made the effort to correct the situation, I was completely ignored and blown off. It's been about 3 weeks since I first started trying to deal with this mess, and still nothing. I understand that personal issues come up when you are a small business, but this is completely unacceptable and was a perfect way to lose someone who otherwise would have been a return customer and readily referred neighbors to your business. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Bilco today. My baby was locked inside my car and I was distraught. Pop A Lock said they could arrive in 15 minutes, then called back and said it would be almost an hour an perhaps I should smash a window. Breaking glass around my child. Super idea. Then Bilco Lock & Safe was called and arrived in under 15 minutes. Robert had my car safely opened in under 2 minutes. He was efficient; kind to a panicky mama; and careful not to damage my car's doors, windows, or locking mechanisms. So glad this business is around!! I've always used them for my rentals and personal properties. However, today I called and and the man I spoke to was beyond rude, even though I was beyond friendly. I put up with it because I had a lot going on and, but at the end I said thank you and he just hung up on me. I called back and said i wanted to cancel because of his rudeness and he said "okay, great." Seriously it was like he was trying to lose my business. This place is my new go to place for keys! I recently moved nearby and needed a extra key made. I tried to get this key made at the big box stores but they did not carry the size I needed. I walked in and was greeted immediately. The person at the counter took my key , made the copy and I was out of the store in less that two minutes! No kidding. I was so impressed. Very affordable!! These guys are awesome! I see some reviews about bad customer service, but the 2 guys I dealt with today were very polite and helpful. Came by to get my safe opened, I forgot the code years ago, and I was in and out within 15 mins. They were able to get the safe open without damaging any of it. My husband locked his keys in his car at a bar near where this company is supposedly located. As his phone was dying he called and asked me to get a locksmith. I picked this one based on proximity and their good reviews. I called and got what sounded like an answering service. I was quoted $15 service fee and about $30 for labor, and told a tech would call in a few minutes. This guy calls 15 minutes later, could not get a handle on the address, and when we finally worked that out he said he'd be there in 30 minutes. It took him over an hour to show up and he demanded $150. Luckily my husband didn't go for that, and talked him down to $50. I don't appreciate being extorted and could not recommend this company less!! read more

Quick service. Called because I locked my keys in my car at a Walmart parking lot. A man in a Bilco van arrived about 10 minutes later and unlocked my car in 15 minutes. The price was expensive at $85. The man who unlocked my car was very nice and I enjoyed the quick service. read more
