Richardson bike Mart sells a good bike at typically a decent price. They are located all across the metroplex, and they are pretty much the only shop by patronize. That being said, they need to get a little better at customer service. Sometimes it's just a matter of letting the person know you see them, a wave, or just telling someone I'll be with you in just a minute. Once they actually start helping you, then you can drive yourself into a conversation with persons that are knowledgeable about the bikes. But on multiple occasions, I've come here and felt so unnoticed I almost left. I have five bikes, currently, all of them have come from this location or the location in Frisco. My experiences have always been pretty good, I would just love to see great from them. They have a niche. Why not niche customer service as well and make everyone ecstatic when they leave this place after they pay too much for a bike? The shop is well stocked, and the customers come here for a reason. The guys here know bikes. That's why I trust them. I just don't want to feel like the "ONLY" reason I come is for the product... I want to feel special... Anytime I leave here, I've typically dropped a grand on a bike and supplies at the least. I've never had a product bad experience. I have never had a service bad experience. Best customer service out there and very well-trained employees, shout out to Brandan who took care of me along with others, they hooked me up with a new bike and perfectly suggested and adjusted my bike to fit my person. I have visited this location numerous times over the years and they have always been extremely nice and helpful with any questions I have had regarding bikes, nutrition, repairs and maintenance. I have purchased two road bikes from other shops but for my next purchase I will be coming to David and the rest of the awesome people at Bike Mart. David and his peers have been extremely patient as I have waffled on brand and sizing. I visited again today and true to form David and another young man (sorry for not getting your name) answered all of my questions, researched information about a specific brand and made great suggestions and solidified my decision to purchase my next road bike from them in the very near future. Don't come here looking for help. They don't care if you have brakes or not on your bike. They can't spare 10 minutes to check a brake adjustment on a persons only mode of transportation. "We're three weeks worth of work backed up" and 10 minutes is gonna make a huge dent in our production. Go hop on your bike and good luck stopping. read more

I recently took my road bike and my daughters bike in for service and as usual got excellent service. I needed a new saddle and wanted to buy a pump for our bikes, they made several recommendations On both; point out pros and cons and eventually settled on items that were not the most expensive but given my needs would be best value. I like that kind of service. They promptly put my saddle on and measured it for me and adjusted the seat; also gave me a quick tutorial on best way to use the pump. I had to leave my daughters bike with them to rebore the pedal hole as the grooves were all chewed up and they installed new pedals. Note, I bought a bike from 2 years ago, a Trek Verve and it was awesome, service was great. Last year the serviced a high end bike gifted to me, new tires and all and it runs really good. Outstanding, attentive service by Barry, Ben and Brandon. I bought in my electric scooter and the inner tube was hanging outside the tire! Barry immediately helped me order the correct size tube and even though it isn't their specialty to repair, he helped me from going to a location elsewhere. The entire RBM McKinney staff was empathetic and kind but let me tell you about Tommy! He's been our bike guy for years and recently completed the work on upgrading my 11 speed gravel bike to 12 speed with super cool SRAM components including eTap. On this day, his first focus was making sure I was ok then reassured me that he could get my bike functioning again. THIS meant a lot to me. He quickly let us know later what we was "needed" and what was "cosmetic". He kept us up to date on the status. I have my bike back and love the work that was done. I was very pleased with that level of service and product knowledge by Mitchell. He was helpful, honest and not pushy to sell anything to me, even during the pandemic. He set me up with a good bike and accessories. I will be coming back to RBM soon. Update: I came back today at 3pm to ask them to make a couple small adjustments to my bike after a couple rides. The whole staff was great. Mitchell helped me with some new Specialized Recon 1.0 shoes and some Shimano clips that can alternate as a regular pedal. What I liked about my first two shopping experiences as RBM is that they make you feel like the only customer even if you are novice. This store is freaking awesome. I've patronized many bike stores over the years, but this is by far the best shop I've ever given my business. All of the sales and service personnel are very nice and knowledgeable, and never try to really upsell you or be too pushy. Also, they are very fair in their "charges" for service. For example, I bought new pedals and a water bottle holder and asked them what it would cost to install them. Their response? "Nothing." They really seem to care more about repeat business over making the "most" per transaction. Awesome group of folks. Took my bike in to have the front derailleur looked at, and the mechanic got it fixed and adjusted in 5 minutes, didn't even charge me. Awesome service there, and everyone besides one individual had exceptional service. Now for the reason it's a two star rating. A guy named Mitchell essentially called my bike "shite" when looking at it as it's a used road bike. It's a decent first bike, and I was talked too like I'm poor because I didn't spend thousands of dollars on my first bike, which I'm sure he did. Guy was a jerk in how he talked down to me and made the phenomenal service sorta bad. read more

So my husband has spent the last few weeks at this store, he bought my bike first, went back and bought his and then went back to by one for my 10yr old. He had a Trek digital card and all of a sudden they acting like he's trying to be shady and yes my husband is black. He bought my sons bike and when he came back to pick it up they voided the transaction! They made him call to confirm he had a Trek card and Mike who helped us buy the first 3 bikes all of a sudden acting like he couldn't trust my husband.
