Just picked up a bike for my wife - Feb 2022. If you have been bike shopping recently you might have noticed a shortage. We put an order in and paid for the bike with an expected delivery date of July (December 2021 was when we ordered the bike). The manager worked closely with us and explored options until we found a bike with specs similar to what we desired so we could get a bike this year 2022 instead of 2023 for some of the bikes Trek manufactures. The staff was as excited for us when the bike arrived as we were. They dialed in the bike and my wife is loving it. She can't believe what an improvement the new bike is over her old bike. Came in without an appointment. Our bike had a totally stuck, stripped nut on a bolt. We only waited maybe 2 minutes. Close to closing, Patrick was able to stop what he was doing and help us. We were convinced that we would need to pay to have the bolt cut off. He was able to get it off with his tools. He didn't charge us a penny!! I didn't know that bicycles plus was sold to trek. Of the three new bicycles we have two of them both Cannondale's we bought from bicycle plus. When you purchased a bicycle from bicycles plus it came with a free tuneup I believe whenever it was needed. I also bought some equipment there like a bike pump that they said was guaranteed forever. When I went into buy a tube I inquired about the lifetime service and product guarantees. The one kid that I spoke to said that all of the previous bicycle plus agreements have been become null and void. I don't know if this is true but it would be great if someone else can chime in from the management team at trek or others if you have some information. Normally when a company takes over another company all of the previous agreements are grandfathered Perhaps it's different in the bicycle business? read more

Just went here today and purchased an Electra cruiser. Went in thinking I needed one like my girlfriend's bike that had 7 speeds, but Amy talked to us about my bike needs (where I will be biking, how long, etc). After finding out the roads we ride aren't extremely hilly and that we use it mainly to ride a mile or so downtown, she suggested I try the bike I purchased. (Also, they sell it there for less than Electra does, so that's a plus) I took it around the parking lot a few times just to get a feel for the bike. It immediately felt so much better than the bike we had purchased elsewhere (and are going to have to take back). It's the perfect bike for me. Amy didn't try to upsale us on anything or tell us we needed a ton of other stuff. We walked out with my bike and bells for each of our bikes. She let me look at the various colors they had to offer (I went with the original black I had taken out for a spin). They also checked everything out to make sure it was in working order. There was sticker gunk on the bike, but she immediately saw it and cleaned it off. That wouldn't have been a bad thing, but it was totally cool she even noticed. Amy told us to come back in 30 days to make sure the bike was still working well. She was very personable and helpful, and this was just an awesome bike purchasing experience. I suggest that if you're wanting to purchase a bike, you come here first. I also don't like reviewing places that sell stuff until I've actually tested the stuff I've bought out for a while. We just rode downtown, and it was such a good experience. Definitely happy with our purchase. read more

I have been visiting Bicycles Plus for about a year now and have all my bikes serviced there exclusively. The crew at this store really knows how to provide top tier service for a bicycle. To ratchet the great service up a notch, I was in a situation where I was out of the country for work and brought my bike along. First thing out on my first ride I dropped my crank magnet for my speed sensor (unbelievably hard to find in Australia) Having purchased the best replacement magnet for another one of my bikes at Bicycles Plus that is enclosed in a stout rubber-band type case so it cannot be lost again, I wanted my wife to pick one up before she was to meet me outside the US. I dropped Michael Gacki a message on Facebook letting him know what I needed and he went out of his way to make the purchase painless for my wife who has no interest in my bike or bike parts. I bought in my canondale beater that I use for trails and sidewalk popping around. I broke a spoke and needed the rim trued up. Now this hybrid bike cost $450 4 years ago still original tires. Sales guy asked me when last time it was tuned. Never. We should tune it up. New chain, brake pad and fix your spoke. That will be $237. I left and thought wtf. This sales rep should be fired. The bike runs as good as when it was new. I just had my classic Pontiac G8Gt get new brakes at the dealer with resurfaced rotors for $340....I called back and said don't worry about tune up. Just fix the rim and I left with $37 repair instead of $237. This was attempted burglary. Bicycle plus would never have done this! I bought 3 bikes from them and lost 100% trust due to this experience. Buyer beware. Con man. read more

I took my kids in a few months back for a few items and Barney was so attentive that I promised him my wife and I would be back when we were ready to buy our bikes. These days it is getting easier and easier to purchase things online. I too am guilty of just ordering things off Amazon rather than going to a local store. With that said, there are certain things that I still like to go to a brick and mortar store for, and bikes is one of them. It is not just the initial purchase of the Bike, but also the ongoing service, maintenance, and repairs. Living around Allen it is nice that we have a great shop like Bicycles Plus. We have purchased four bikes from Bicycles Plus in Allen, two adult and two children's. Each time we purchased a bike the staff took the time to make sure that we got the right bike for the rider, especially our kids. I have also had to bring my bike in twice for repairs. Both times they were able to get me in same day and charged a fair price for the work done. Overall they are a great bike shop with a friendly, knowledgeable staff, and a decent selections of bikes. This was an absolute awesome experience!!! Everyone here is so knowledgeable and helpful....you can't ask for a more friendly group of folks, you can tell great customer service is not a foreign concept here. I purchased an adult and child's bicycle with a transportation rack as well as an in the garage storing unit.....all the accessories I purchased were put on the bikes, and they helped me to know how to operate the vehicle rack too, and installed it on my vehicle. There are so many accessories and options.....making the gift of the bicycles completed by the added value from the accessories. One more thing....they even stored the items in house for several weeks for the Christmas season, making it easier to keep a secret from my kiddo that is always wanting to be at my side.
