First off and foremost the service is by far the worst of any department store! Salespeople are so busy playing grab-ass with one another that customers are simply not waited on! I have been here multiple times and it's always the same. If you want assistance you have to use the kiosk. You bring the shoe to the unit and scan the information. You pick your color and size. You enter your name and the area you can be found. Then you wait. It's like pulling teeth to get them to return to check on you. I had boxed up the shoes and was ready for additional shoes to try on. Again, no floor person to provide help. I have to go back to the kiosk to get additional assistance. A royal pain in the butt. What has happened to providing customer service? It's of no value at this business. I did buy 2 pairs of shoes. Now that I know my size I'll simply buy them from the company directly or shop on amazon. For a few dollars more I think it will be worth my sanity. While I'm on a roll I suppose I should mention the check out process. That's about the same as the floor staff. Useless! I spent over $370 on 2 sets of shoes. On clouds and Hokas. The dude at the register states " you want to save $10, I'll enter your phone number, no email is needed". Well he doesn't tell you the $10 off isn't for another 6 months! Just in case you return the shoes. What a crock of crap! Very deceptive. They have since sold my phone number and all I receive is political invitations on my phone. Such BS. AND if you want to order a pair of shoes to deliver to your home, that too has to be done via the kiosk. I haven't been in a Dicks in sometime. They went down hill and I just quit going. Recently I was looking at reviews for athletic shoes with an overall maximum comfort rating. Dicks was one of two places on the list to buy. So, today I whipped in and they had them. The store looked good. Clean well stocked and someone actually offered assistance! I tried on a pair of Brooks Glycerin 20...True to the review they are unbelievably comfortable. On top of one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn,today was 25 % off! The store is clean, well lit, and has lots of stock. Signage-especially men's and women's items would have been useful. I wandered around until I found the golf shoes and gloves. As a woman the inventory was very limited. I was never asked if I needed any assistance. read more

I was in the store for 30 minutes looking for shoes and no one asked me if I need help. I waited in the l soccer Section and finally flagged l somebody down; then I waited in the athletic share section for 15 minutes and then walked out. . Great, clean and has a awesome variety. Staff is hard to come by here but this is by far the best location I've seen. Got the Kyrie 7's to hoop in and they had a size 10 and a pretty smooth process to check out. Also found bug spray, ankle braces , socks etc. the prices are competitive but honestly if you're anything like me , the perk is being able to make one stop and find everything in one collective place: if you're looking for that - it's here. Ok, today I had to add an extra star to my first review. Today we came in to buy a bike for my incoming middle schooler. His old bike was getting small and he wanted something a little bigger so his knees wouldn't hit the handlebars. We went up to the bike area. We were immediately greeted by an associate who admitted he didn't normally work in this department, but would help us until the regular employee returned. He measured my son and took down several bikes for my son to try out. He encouraged him to take a spin up and down the aisle for the bike that "fit" best. I've purchased bikes from two other competitors so I feel like I know a thing or two about buying a bike. Now, next was the mind blowing part. The associate in charge of bikes returned and did a complete inspection of the bike we decided to purchase. She made sure all the gears worked properly, oiled the chains, and made sure the breaks worked properly. She even installed the drink holder and kickstand we were planning on purchasing. It was such a great bike purchasing experience. read more

My husband went the kiosk to get a few shoes to try on, waits by the kiosk as per instruction, no one showed up for 30 minutes. Once the lady showed up she helped everyone that walked up not my husband who had been waiting. Worse customer service ever. We walked out and will not return. Ugh! read more

I've been here on 2 separate occasions. The first was a wreck and the other wasn't much better. The first time was an order online, pick up in store scenario. I got the email saying my order's ready, went in hours later (plenty of time to bring it up front), went straight to Customer Service, and it took FOREVER for these dudes to find my item. Like, no joke, multiple people went looking for it multiple times and would come back empty-handed. And when I tried to help by saying, "oh no, no you're looking for this not that" they completely ignored me and carried on looking like dumbasses for 15-20mins until they finally "found" it. When I got my order, it looked like someone stomped on the box like it owed them money. Fortunately, it wasn't a big deal because it was a 60lb weighted-vest so RIP to that person's foot. The second time was to find some soccer cleats to use for paintballing today. They have a very limited selection, but we managed to get something that my husband liked, fitted well, and wasn't pricey. The customer service in the shoe department needs to improve. When my husband needed a size, it took a long time to find someone who could help. When we finally did, the person was nice-ish about it and brought him the box and then poof, gone. My husband needed a size up. Finding someone, yet again, proved to be quite a task. After some time, we found a 2nd guy who was very quick, kind of in a snappy/I don't want to help you tone, and that was off-putting. Overall, the customer service here sucks. The guy who greeted us when we arrived was the only highlight of our experience. Side note: their bathrooms are gross. Only 1 of the 2 women's stalls had a door that locked and both stalls were in unsanitary conditions. Also, please put a trash bin in the stalls. Women have needs and in an attempt to grab a seat cover, which was empty but looked full, I almost stuck my hand in someone else's used... ahem, item... because there wasn't a place for them to dispose of it properly and they shoved it in the seat cover container. I had a great experience. During my shopping, i was asked if assistance was needed, by two employees. The store is very clean and their merchandise are neatly arranged, with a great selection. The cashier was very friendly and made sure my items could easily be carried out to my car. I was able to purchase everything on my list, at great prices. I asked a representative if they carried a particular college team T-shirt or jersey and he told me in a very serious tone "Thankfully No". He then in a very serious tone proceeded to tell me that my team was going to get pounded and since my team is unpopular I would unlikely find any gear for them. He then said "despite being a fan, have a good day" was done. My family has shopped a this Dicks for as long as it has been open. We will never ever shop there again. My boyfriend went in to exchange some items I bought him for his birthday, he only had 1 receipt when I had bought more stuff on separate occasions. They told him come back later with the credit card you used, he said ok. We went back in just now 10/25 6pm and tried to exchange the items. The manager Krista tells us they can not do the exchange because the items had already been exchanged. The items were in our possession and were never exchanged. She called her manager and customer service to try and find out why the computer would say that. As a manager it is your duty to solve the issue. The items clearly weren't returned because here they are in my hands. Fix it. She told us to find the receipt or take a reduced refund of store credit. $5 for a $55 Nike hoodie. So ridiculous. Called ahead to ask about a certain fishing lure, guy sounded dumb on the phone but was like "ah yeah we have it" I get up there and notice something is wrong when I see no fishing section. I asked an employee if they got rid of their fishing stuff and said they hadn't had a fishing section for 2 years. Told me "maybe you should call first". Came in to get a kayak the website said was in stock. Couldn't find it and when I asked I was told they don't have it. I pointed out that the website said they did and was told they probably just sold out and there would be a $150 shipping since they don't have it in stock. Very unhelpful. Some other stores in DFW were showing it in stock on their website too. Rather than drive all over I found a corporate number and asked if they could help. They saw that there were none anywhere nearby in the color I wanted. And only one at a store in Mesquite in another color. Both this store and the website suck. This place is sensory overload for me. Came in to look at tennis rackets and visors. There were clothing racks and tables covered in shoes pretty much taking up all the space in what is usually the walkway through the store. Weaving through the racks, they don't appear to be organized in any way, except by gender or youth. It is quite chaotic. I would have liked to look for workout clothing, but they have it organized by brand, not clothing type, so you'd have to go to each brand's area to see what they have in the way of say, workout pants - no thanks. Made it upstairs and found the tennis rackets, which we looked at for a good 25 minutes with no one coming by to offer assistance. We ended up leaving without rackets and with two visors, which came to a whopping $45 -- leaving me to believe Dick's is also a bit overpriced. Will try a different sporting goods store next time! read more

We shop here a lot (couple of times a month) and sadly the only thing consistent with Dick's is poor customer service. Seldom is anyone on the floor to assist or answer questions. After terrible service at Firewheel I went to the Allen store for my wife's kayak. I only chose Dick's because they carry the blue Pelican 10-foot trailblazer and Academy only carries green and yellow. I still had to seek out a human being clear across the store to help me . The one living soul working upstairs was helpful. Got home, the kayak had missing screws and scratches but because that model was hard to find I accepted it. In the future Academy is my go to place. Dick's is now where I go as a last resort because it seems Academy has 5 helpful employees on the floor for every 1 Dick's has. Academy's kayaks are less expensive, made in the USA and Dick's are more expensive and not American made. If this was not the only place in 100 miles that had this product, no way would Dick's get my business. read more

I walked in and asked they told me to go look in the section it should be in and they pointed me in that direction. I couldn't find the color I was looking for so I brought the item up to the counter and asked if they had the other color the girl working the counter and looked at me and said if you didn't see it out there we don't have it. I generally like Dick's and have been to other locations a number of times. One thing with this location is that it can be difficult to get help and even more difficult to try clothes on. Always an issue finding staff to unlock the dressing room door. Usually tracking down a staff member to help you is the only problem, but on one occasion employees were so busy playing with the golf merchandise that they lied to me about not having items (I found another employee to help me after and we located what I was looking for), simply so they wouldn't have to leave their games. This was during the summer and I had to wonder who was managing the place and allowing employees to act this way with customers. I am sure I will be back by at some point, but no rush. read more

Lazy worker said she can't find it and told me some BS reason, rather than going out of her way to look for it. Went to this Dick's after calling 3 of them and they stated they HAD wrestling shoes. Drove 25 mins only to find they did not. ONly sell them on line. I have a coupon for $10 bucks off for 50 bucks or more. When I asked if I can use coupon on line I was told no. I then got the comment from the Sales guys "its Football season, nobody is doing Wrestling now." With that I left. Used Dick's Wifi to contact Academy and spoke with them. THey stated they had Shoes in stock. Drove there and found the shoes i needed, Less than Dicks Tax Free Weekend and Academy took Dick's coupon. Saved even more money.
