I am a casual rider. But because of quarantine and lack of work/activities, I have been riding more…read morethan usual. I love my cruiser. I bought it off the shelf, knowing nothing about bikes. It took me a month just to learn to ride...I never learned. Occasionally, I put some oil on my bike if it seems to be shifting weird. And I do check my tire pressure regularly. Aside from that, I've never had an adult check it out. I decided that it was probably time to have a tuneup and have a thorough safety check. I did call the bike shop down the street, but they are no longer taking appointments, and I was not about to go wait in line as they had suggested. I happened to find Velofix online and was able to get an appointment in about a week. Matt was my bike guy (what is the technical term....Bichanic?) Anyhow, he was on time and completed a tire-to-tire evaluation. He even installed my cushy new saddle so I'll be more comfortable during rides. He cleaned my bike, which brought a little tear to my eye. It looked better than the day I bought it. Plus, my brakes no longer sound like air horns. Much appreciated! Incredibly convenient service and I will definitely be better about caring for my bike. I know it's illegal to hi-five during quarantine times, but I would've given him two hi-fives if it were allowed.

Jon was great to deal with, professional, honest, knowledgeable, affordable and accommodating -- after the repair he even dropped the bike at my house. Two thumbs up. Beyond being a genuinely great guy, he is insanely knowledgeable about bikes. He shared that it's been his passion since he was a young kid, and it absolutely shows in his work. He serviced two of our bikes (an ElliptiGO 8c and a Schwinn Sivica comfort cruiser) in less than an hour. Working right out of his BikeMedics van, he swapped out the brakes, lubricated the gears, and even washed them both down so they looked as good as new! He got everything done perfectly on the spot. But the absolute best part was that he actually took the time to show us how to properly operate the bikes. He shared some great tips and tricks, and even taught us how to fix small things ourselves in case they ever break. Nate is officially our forever bike guy. Do yourself a favor and skip the big box stores: you'll get way better service, learn a lot, and possibly even save some money by going with BikeMedics. After inquiring to purchase them, the manager (Brandon-GM) is asked to go verify. He noticed the price tag and rudely stated there is nothing they can do about the tag being wrong or the being in the incorrect space. It's not a big deal about the price of the item, but trying to chew out an employee in front of a customer about it is unprofessional and speaks to his lack of leadership. I chose not to buy anything because their prices are higher than Academy and other competitors, even for the same items. On top of that, you have people like Brandon who would rather stand up front and do nothing than make sure customers have a great experience at their store. Needless to say, I definitely won't be back.

Took him probably less than an hour. Not only that, he spent some time helping me learn how to use the center stand and teaching me proper motorcycle maintenance for various parts of the motorcycle.
