Unfortunately, I can't leave zero stars...... I went to look at golf shoes and ended up finding a couple of items that (I thought) were marked down. After inquiring to purchase them, the manager (Brandon-GM) is asked to go verify. He noticed the price tag and rudely stated there is nothing they can do about the tag being wrong or the being in the incorrect space. It's not a big deal about the price of the item, but trying to chew out an employee in front of a customer about it is unprofessional and speaks to his lack of leadership. I chose not to buy anything because their prices are higher than Academy and other competitors, even for the same items. On top of that, you have people like Brandon who would rather stand up front and do nothing than make sure customers have a great experience at their store. Went in tonight and got an item and the cashier and the manager Bryan (I think) were great. Very wholesome guys when they didn't have to be.

I attempted to return a Christmas gift from this store without a receipt expecting to receive the current shelf or sale price. My intent was to use the store credit toward the purchase of a higher priced item in the store, thus increasing the size of the overall purchase. Imagine my shock when the cashier rang up my returns, it displayed the current sales price, and after tapping the "no receipt return" key, the refund plummeted to 25% of the current sales price. Yep, they wouldn't refund the current in-store (also online price) for the new unused items even though the back of the receipt they give every customer plainly states that they will do so. I was first told they wouldn't even return the items without the original purchaser's phone number. Don't think calling Dick's corporate customer service will help. I made two calls and still have zero resolution. They are basically operating with a really friendly printed return policy that they will not honor, which is a violation of Deceptive Trade Practices Act. I will avoid this store in the future. read more

They're lightweight and feel like I'm just wearing socks! She asked me if I needed any help finding a specific pair of shoes, and I told her I was looking for good pair of shoes to wear when I train at my gym with my trainer. She said "let's start with a running shoe, and see if they feel right." She pointed out a couple of different options and explained that when she trains at the gym, she prefers a running shoe over a crosstraining shoe. The very first pair I tried on I bought and wore them out of the store. Megan knows exactly what she is doing. Go see her! I'll be there this morning to buy a set of golf clubs! read more

Called in to the store about shoes that were only 2 months old and had a tear in the seam. Didn't have a receipt or the box just the shoes. Luckily I had used the rewards program (and my debit card) when I initially bought the shoes. Customer service pulled up and verified my transaction. Although they didn't have the size of the shoes in the store, they promptly called another Dick's for me to hold a pair for me to pick up. Very helpful and staff made everything easy. read more

Customer servic and communication are a big FAIL with my experience. I ordered a pair of nike pants online. I received them and the merchandise was wrong. I was on a time limit to get these as a gift so I though going up to the store would help. I wasn't upset , mistakes happen. I get there and the cashier tells me he can order them but cannot request them to be expedited and informs me that customper service could. So I just let him reorder the merchandise for me. days later package arrives and again WRONG pants. So at this time I am within days of needing the present. So I call customer service they tell me it can be expedited and double checked before sending but I would have to wait for an email or phone call to start this in 24 hrs. I get email the next day, I do everything they want even add pics of what I received. Well days go by and no response to my emails or a phone call that I requeste. At this point I wrap up the gift, send it to the person and come to find out NOT EVEN THE RIGHT SIZE! I call tonight and the girl I talked to sounded very unprofessional and tells me "well maybe the person you been talking to is sick or on vacation" I'm like WOW. So here I am basically screwed until someone decides to contact me. I really hate that I spent hundreds of dollars w this company in the last couple months. An snow they are talking to me like I did something wrong because I don't still have the label from shippin! I literally have an account w them that shows everything! read more

Very pricey. Good customer service. This store has a lot of work out clothes, but they don't have any sizes for overweight people. Nice cell phone accessories for working out. If you have money, it's a nice store. read more

This was my first trip to this store. I went to look for a pair of shoes and that's what I got! They had a limited selection of shoes in my opinion. The service was fair to good in the shoe department and in the firearms department. They seem to have of women's sporting clothes (likely because that's where the profit is). Their selection of every except women's sports wear is somewhat limited. I would go here again, but it's nothing great. Bass Pro Shop is better for many of the outdoor items. Also, the checkout was not clearly marked, I really had to look to see the pattern of the checkout line 3/5 worth a try for many items. read more

I consider this the best sporting store in Rockwall because the variety of product on hand. The shoe department is staffed so you don't have shoes scattered on the floor or put back in the wrong place. The sales staff is friendly, but not overly friendly - you know the pretentious greeting at some places. They carry a fair amount of men, women, and children's apparel so we rarely leave without purchasing something. The store is usually clean and orderly. read more

So, I've played tennis for 20+ years and was in a pinch to get 2 racquets restrung. I bought the 2 sets of strings, grip tape wraps, and a couple other things. Their policy is, if you buy strings from them...they will string it for free. First, I was told that the only person that restrings racquets won't be in for four days....I've paid at that point and needed the racquets that night. So, 4th day I take it back to be restrung. I was told it would take over 24 hours....nobody was in the section shopping, no line for for people needing the same and it should take about 20 minutes. I told him that I had payed 4 days ago and why would it take so long? He told me, "I'm busy with bicycles"....I repeated, with receipt in hand that I've been waiting 4 days. After me being insistent, he said he could have it done by closing. I took the 2nd racquet in and I was told that it could be ready in 2 days...totalling 7 days since I paid for the service. Todays excuse was, "a truck came in and we're busy." They have now lost a customer that has spent about 2k at Dicks in the last year. Pathetic service and snippy attitudes. read more

Went in looking for a specific Adidas running shoe. Had all kinds of trouble finding someone to help me. When I finally did, it took another 20 minutes for her to finally tell me that the shoe was not in stock. Found out from another employee that she had gone on break right in the middle of helping me! The store was pretty busy so I might have caught them on a bad day...but my experience was not a good one. read more

Went to Dick's shopping and came across some folding chairs that a price marked on them as Sale Item. I asked the young lady in the area "is this the correct price" she stated yes they are on sale. The cashiers rang up a different price that was much higher. Asked for the manager and he would not the price on the tag. I stated that most stores will honor the price as marked and he stated, " I don't have to do anything" He looked very unprofessional and smelled like he had just smoked a pack of cigarettes. read more

On the news it had said that Dallas Cowboys NFC East Champions t shirts would be available at Dick's Sporting Goods at 7am on 12/23. I went in yesterday (12/23) to buy one for my son for Christmas. I was told that they would be putting them out tomorrow (12/24) at 7am. I came back today (12/24) at 7am to be told they had put them out yesterday (12/23) at 11am. I was one of many customers to have been told one thing yesterday and show up today to be told something very different. I managed to find one online, but unfortunately it will not be here in time for Christmas. The man who I talked to seemed like a manager and was incredibly rude and unapologetic about the oversight. Went to buy new running shoes and found the employees not very knowledgeable and surely not helpful. After waiting in the shoe department for over 10 minutes searching for someone to help (I was the only one standing there) I finally flagged down a sales person and explained what I needed. He basically flopped down a couple pairs of shoes and then I never saw him again... I walked out. If you are a runner, stick with places like Luke's Locker or Run On... because they will "get" you.
