My friend and I just happened to be near Big Wig Donuts while being in downtown and decided to stop by on their opening day. I also had my son with me so we decided to wait in a lengthy line, which to me was a good sign, but then it was the first day so the line was more for curiosity than popularity. I got to sample some of the cold brew while in line and I must say I to pass after the first sip. The coffee was not smooth and on the bitter side. They had six flavors so we got two of each and got a even dozen. I must say $9 is a bit steep for smaller than usual doughnut holes. Out of the six flavors maple would be my go to choice and lemon poppy in second. The chocolate ones were more salty than sweet. The raspberry one was too tart. I don't know if will return, maybe when some new flavors are out, but again pretty difficult choice to do so at regular prices. read more

Solid doughnut joint! Quality was there and square, customer service was a bit abrasive but none the less good and friendly! Some flavors got a bit more drenched in oil then others and for 12.59 after tip I would've excepted the size to be bigger, felt robbed and rubbed wrong but at least the dough left a great taste and good experience! I have been here several times now and I've brought several people, even grabbed some to bring back to work and here's the thing.. these are literally my favorite donuts (specifically the maple ones). I have had to set a limit for myself on how often I can go. I eat them until I get sick, wait for it to pass and eat some more. I think the dense but soft and warm texture is phenomenal (at least on the white donuts, I've heard the chocolate ones have a different texture). I think the gluten free recipe makes it better, I would choose them over other donuts any day. However, I have had some people say they don't like the texture. No one has said they're awful, just not their favorite. I think you have to try them yourself and see if this is your donut. They're doing everything right (although a bit expensive, probably helps me eat less of them to be honest!). read more

YUM. These donut holes were not what I was expecting at first. I thought they would have more of a selection and was a little let down when it was just donut holes and coffee. But to my pleasant surprise- they're quite honestly the BEST donuts I have ever had. So worth every penny. The fact that they're Vegan makes it even better. I missed my window the first day (they close at 1). I learned my lesson, so the next day, I got there on time and was practically humming with GF donut induced excitement by the time I arrived. WELL, the kind people at Big Wig were super friendly, set me up with a mixed-dozen donut holes (plus an extra few because I was a newbie), and an oatmilk latte. YUMMM! I couldn't resist popping one in my mouth immediately, and let me tell you friends it was still WARM. So I got in the car with my treasures, begin driving, and suddenly... here we are. Really good gluten free, vegan donuts in downtown Salem. They are similar to a donut hole in size and shape. We normally get a variety of maple, chocolate, and cinnamon. However, we would recommend only getting what you can eat now. Our experience is that they don't reheat well and they are not as good cold. read more

My parents brought home some of their donut holes once, and were raving about how delicious they were, but slightly expensive. I had heard about this place and that they were vegan and gluten free. I told my parents that it's probably due to the fact that they're vegan and GF, and they didn't even realize that they were because of how delicious they tasted. I tried them and immediately understood what they meant. They are out of this world and usually items that are either vegan, gluten free, or both have an "off" taste or texture... but that is NOT the case with these donut holes! Finally got to check this place out. I've wanted to visit since I found out they existed, but it's quite a drive from Eugene. We passed through on our way elsewhere but honestly, I think the trip would have been worth it for the donut holes alone. They are phenomenal! Seriously. They're like a mix between gourmet chocolates and donuts. Packaged like chocolates, little, really decadent and addictive. But at the same time, distinctly donut. Fantastic with a cup of coffee and a beautiful morning. Not actually donuts but donut holes.These are gormet creations bursting with flavor. You can buy 3 or 10 at a time. You don't here to get full, you come to delight your palette. I got chocolate (not glazed) with a warm dark chocolate flavor that has a depth to it. Pumpkin and cardamom was great too. Lemon and poppy seed had a nice tart beginning flavor. As a donut lover I was hesitant to try an establishment that ONLY serves gluten free vegan donuts. My hesitations were not unwarranted...Upon looking over the counter my first impression was they're cutting corners. The donut holes are "baked" using a device akin to an easy bake oven for children. I ordered a dozen, two of each flavor. The chocolate and chocolate matcha tasted like a Duncan Hines GF brownie mix. The base or dough severely lacked flavor, it was very bland. I wouldn't even call it dough, it was more cake like. The most flavorful was the lemon poppyseed. But still, the insides of the donuts were quite mushy. I think it's fantastic GF and vegan individuals have a dedicated donut spot, however, it comes at cost. That cost is the overall quality and taste. I'm certain if the donuts were fried or even baked in a traditional oven you would get a much more quality product without the mushy damp centers. But I guess you get what you pay for? Using 13 dollar donut cooking devices? I'll try again in the near future to update my review. read more

Amazing! All my friends and colleagues (vegans and nonvegans) love these! They're peanut allergy free (among many other allergen-friendly designations that I can't remember exactly now). Would 100% recommend. Love that they switch up flavors for the seasons too. I've been to the new shop on Liberty St. twice now. The donut holes, vegan and gluten free, are fresh and delicious.

Delicious donuts. Clean, adorable shop. Customer service is needs work. We ordered a dozen. We got 6. We stood at the area where they hand them out to wait for assistance. The women making donuts made eye contact but ignored us for awhile, and eventually asked us what we needed. We said we were missing donuts and they told us to get in line. We said we already ordered and paid, and they told us "well, they weren't on the sticker". We reminded them, we already orders and paid and let them know what they were missing. They begrudgingly gave us the missing donuts. You can do better. We expect better. Hope to see better customer service soon. read more
