I have to say I love my Chevy Blazer EV, though it is too small and I will probably trade it in for a GMC bigger vehicle in the future. I liked Biggers, when I bought my vehicle, but they went from five star in my book to a one star. This is not the dealer to buy an EV from. I found out that you should have your car serviced at a dealership, where they have an EV specialist on staff. I know everyone claims to have people trained on how to service EVs, but you want an EV specialist. I took my car to this dealership four times, because the bumper kept detaching (the first time was two days after I bought it). On the fourth visit, the service specialist said the technician said "he noticed scratches on the bumper and it could mean misuse." Now, we are both standing over the bumper and there is not a scratch in sight. What did Mike Tomlin say "Excuses are the tools of the incompetent." If you can't fix the issue, say that, but don't blame the customer. I LOVE my Chevy Blazer EV and I believe GM has the best EV on the market, but Biggers will never touch it again. read more

I dropped my GMC terrain off at a ford dealership for a diagnostic, after thinking my I was going to drop 1000's of dollars. I was informed it would be brought to Biggers for further inspection I was assisted by new service advisor Nick. Unsure of his last name Nick, the new service advisor was super nice and kept me up to detail with what was happening with my vehicle without giving me any of the BS you'd expect anywhere else ensuring a simple and quick fix. If there is one thing I yearn to avoid is spending all day at a dealership. From start to finish, my Biggers experience was efficient, courtious, empathetic, friendly, and, in no way shady. I have the tendency to keep cars as long as I possibly can. One day, Ol' Reliable was no longer...well...reliable. My interaction with the dealership was actually minimal. Most correspondence was online. There was no hard pushing of add ons like extended service contracts, rust proofing, and gap insurance coverage but it was presented as an option versus a fear tactic which is why I picked some of those things up. I was in and out of there with a brand new car on a busy Saturday evening about 2 hours but note that I had already selected the car I wanted. In daylight, we did notice nicks and scratches which Biggers happily fixed for us. Ages ago when I still had a decent set of hair on my head, my young, motivated self worked at a dealership for many years. I know how it works and I know it well. That being said, I can confidently say that ALL interaction from those at the front desk, salesman Diego, finance manager, to the service/body shop managers was very friendly and helpful. In fact, what reminded me of writing this review was a follow up call from Diego to see how things were going. Got here at 9am...it's 11:22 and I'm STILL sitting here. All my car needed was an oil change. Why did it take over 2 hours? I've watched so many people come and go. I'm over it! Update as of 12.29.2021 As I checked out during my previous visit, I was approached by the GM based on my review. He apologized and quickly worked to find out what happens and offered a resolution. **Avoid this dealership** We purchased a 2020 Traverse and were sold "EPC The Protector" with its "Diamond Ceramic Coating" for cost of $995. I NEVER purchase these packages because they are mostly snake oil. However the salesmen convinced me it was well worth it and was selling it to me at "cost". The ONLY reason I agree was because it was a "ceramic" coating which would be applied to the entire exterior including the glass and light lenses. It was not that. This is what I got for $995. *A crappy car wash *Zero additional slickness or sheen to the exterior. *no powder residue anywhere ( even the most diligent detailers will leave a little somewhere). An actually ceramic coating doesn't powder but it's clear it wasn't that. *There was a chemical smell in the interior so they did something in there. *A "Protector" sticker on the window and a little paper that said my warranty information would be coming in the mail in 6 weeks. *dirty windows like my 8yo did them. That was $995. Ask three different people at the dealership what the package "A" includes and you will get 3 different answers including the service writer. I have addressed this with the salesmen and the sales manager. They want to "reapply" it even though they insist it was already applied. Neither EPC not Bigger's Chevrolet will have the opportunity to touch this car again as I do not trust them. Btw, I never ever do reviews. read more

I can only speak for the service dept, but Mike, Marty, and Eddie here will always cut you a honest repair. Its not as cheap as mom and pops spots but they cut the deals they can and you get what you pay for and only what you need. My buddy ran a Mavis and I brought it in for coupld repairs, the mechanics botched all thecrepairs and biggers fixed me up. I pirchased a C7 corvette from Biggers Chevrolet and had a very pleasant experience. So when I was in the market for a new C8 that's where I returned. Upon arriving I was notified that my previous salesman was no longer working there and was handed off to Coke the new Corvette specialist. This was November of 2021 I was instructed to be put on the ordering list a payment on $1,000.00 was needed. While putting the $1,000.00 down and picking the options I would like my car to have I was informed that most likely I wouldn't receive a 2022 C8 and will probably end up with a 2023 C8. I was also told prior to Chevrolet building my car my salesman would call and set up a time for my to come in and verify that my order was correct. I never was allowed the second visit and after 26 months received a call telling me my car was ready for delivery. Upon arriving to the dealership to accept delivery I noticed the car had suede interior and I asked for leather. This mistake wouldn't have happened if I was afforded the second visit to check the ordering sheet. After I refused and purchased another C8 at another store Biggers refused to refund my $1,000.00 stating the money was used for advertising since I didn't take delivery of the car. read more

I previously had a horrible experience at another Cheverlot dealership, so I came in with a bias I must admit. Now lets talk about by experience with this dealership. I drove in and found the service department. I was greeted and checked in quickly. I let them know I had meeting with a new client at 1pm and wanted to know how long my service would take. I was told it's simple oil change, tire rotation and inspection of the car. Simple enough! Biggers service department went down hill fast after Steve Kershaw left! They no longer give out loaners but they put you in a rattle trap used up SUV , After riding in that fine example of their craftsmanship , I was foolish enough to let them work on my truck any how. The grease on the bumper and the bed will wash out But I will have to get the scratches in my fender buffed out! It started when they FINALLY got the parts to do a several year-old recall. When you drive into the shop there is an apparatus that they can use to scam you and tell you your vehicle is out of alignment. Normally the first step to an all wheel alignment is to check tread depth and tire pressure, no 2 tires had the same pressure and the greatest difference was 5 pounds! but the biggest sign they didn't do it was that the steering wheel is at 11:00 when going straight down the road! You would think they would notice it on their 25+ mile test ride! The jerkiness I took it in for is now WORSE. Basically they charged me over $725 to change 4 spark plugs and it took him over 8 hours to do it! The other 4 took me , a disabled guy 15 minutes in a rainstorm standing on my one good leg! Eddies response? 'OH WELL" that's how we do business!" he offered me a free oil change. same as he did when his porter burned up the alternator on my Buick, using a jump box on it, Backwards! and leaving my wife leaning on her walker waiting in the parking lot! (He never delivered on that either) I'm not sure which pisses me off more the mechanics poor workmanship or Eddies wise-ass demeaner. He treated me better before I had a stroke and I didn't walk with a limp. My husband spends a lot of his time browsing car forums and looking at photos of trucks for sale on various websites. Sometimes he finds a truck he really wants, goes to look at it, and listens to me say, "NO." Earlier this year, that changed as we started seriously looking for a truck. He found one here that he wanted (a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado) and talked about it for days until I gave him the go-ahead to check it out. I was actually kind of excited about it. We had a really bad experience at another dealership the night before we came to this one, so we were both a bit hesitant. Our concerns quickly melted away within minutes. When we told the salesman we were there to look at the truck, he took us straight to the truck for a test-drive. No small talk. No forms to sign. No bait-and-switch. No bullshit. Just right to the truck. Sweet! My husband fell in love with it. I was quite partial to it, myself. We wanted to buy it. We went inside to talk and do all the paperwork, found out that our (lack of) credit wouldn't allow us to buy the truck, and had the salesmen on the phone with different banks trying to get us the best deal possible on the truck we wanted with our budget/credit. They put the truck on hold for us (with a $100 deposit) as we spent the next day asking a couple family members to co-sign for us and having their paperwork processed. Everyone at Biggers was great about staying in constant communication with us and handling everything on their end quickly. In the end, we didn't get the truck. No one's credit was good enough for us to be able to buy it without a larger down payment. Disappointed, we had to let it go. Despite not getting the truck, we are incredibly pleased with our entire experience. The salespeople really listened to us and treated us with respect. They didn't push, and instead, offered as much help as they could. The manager was even willing to meet my husband at the affiliated dealership around the corner from our apartment to refund our deposit instead of making us drive out to Elgin! Went here to look for a new Tahoe. Mind you not a low priced vehicle.. this was a $60K+ LT model Apparently there are no more factory orders being taken since there is a new model coming out. Long story short, we located a suitable Tahoe at a dealership over 1000 miles away. We wanted to keep the sale local so we asked if the truck could be shipped and we do the deal at BIGGERS. We ended up working with MIKE DACHEF in the fleet department and he said he would get a quote for shipping. He called us the next day and said it would be $1600 and we would have to go thru him for shipping since it wasn't our truck yet and he wanted "the control" (his words). We thought that seemed a lot so we called the transport company he said he would be using directly. They gave us a quote for the same truck same location at $1400. I called MIKE DACHEF the next day and asked why his price was so much higher and inquired if he was padding the shipping cost with pure profit gravy. After asking him that over the phone, I was met with dead silence until he finally admitted he did that. Now I understand making a profit off the truck itself, but to add to the price of shipping and refusing to allow us to get a lower price on our own is unacceptable. That's why he wanted "the control". Needless to say we asked for our deposit back. When I went back to pick up the check, I asked to speak with BOB CALDWELL and/or JIM LEICHTER but both were out; maybe give them a chance to explain what happened and how they might want to help resolve it. I met with an office manager who said one of those gentlemen would call me back. Neither one bothered to call at all to see if they could somehow salvage the sale. So for $200 bucks they lost the sale on a $60K truck + warranty work + future service work + a customer and whomever we tell to avoid Biggers for being shady. We went to another local dealer. They got us shipping for $950, showed us the shipping invoice and were honest and upfront the entire process. IN MY OPINION: Very irresponsible and disrespectful dealership! Took my wife's Chevy in for service, and while it was on the Lot, their delivery truck hit it and tore off the front end! Biggers immediately denied any responsibility for the damage, saying it was all on the Trucking company, made us deal with them directly, and then took weeks to repair the damage... leaving my wife with no car for the duration, and a vehicle that now has an accident on its service record, DESTROYING any resale value the car may have had. Sure, this was a fluke accident and could have happened anywhere, but the EXTREMELY poor response from Biggers tells me everything I need to know about how they treat their customers. Finally...a dealer that just gets it when it comes to the car-buying experience. And it was a HUGE bonus that they also treat women the right way. They didn't "man-splain" things like I was an uninformed buyer or talk down to me because I was a woman. They didn't ask me if I wanted to get my husband on the line for a decision (like Zeigler). And they were also kind to each other. There wasn't "some guy behind the curtain" feel like someone was working numbers. There was NOT an arrogant manager who swooped in and shooed away the hard-working salesman because only he knew how to close the deal (so rudely the case at Zeigler). My Biggers experience was transparent and honest and couldn't have gone better. These guys at Biggers (Jim L, Bob, Jim B and Steve in finance) just get it. They know how to treat a customer and each other. I wasn't swarmed at the door when I walked in. I was given options. I wasn't oversold things in finance. They knew where I wanted my payments and found the Tahoe to get the right deal pulled together for me. And the follow up has even been more impressive. Simple texts checking in. Quick turn around on a parts order (all-weather mats) with email comms and a phone call when it came in. A fantastic service tech who then walked me through the all-weather mats and explained why I should give them a try and not go to WeatherTech for cost savings and quality reasons. He also said come back in and he would adjust further if they didn't settle into place after some use and I wasn't fully satisfied. Get there they do an inspection, car is in condition stated but they offer almost 20% less than we had discussed. So frustrating to waste time, if you are going to low ball just be upfront about it and save everyone time. STAY AWAY PLEASE--from the whole service department. I bought my cruze here and every time i've brought it here for service, their service team has been AWFUL. One time they told me they changed my oil when they didn't, so i went 8,000 miles without an oil change. Another time i paid $100 to have emissions system diagnosed and after i paid, i asked for the part number that needed replacement and they proceeded to tell me that it was against company policy to give out part numbers. I had to get a manager to give me the part number and even he was unsure if he was giving me the right part. Did they even diagnose anything? I went to Biggers because I needed a new car, my last car just totaled. I told Jeff Percell I found a manual Spark ls online for 13,5 with a $2,000 incentives - cash back. He told me I, I didn't want a manual, then continue to question why I wanted a manual transmission. He priced out an automatic Spark LT for 17.5 -- I told no, I want manual spark ls 13.5 with the 2,000 incentives. Dennis comes over he found a manual spark LT for the same money as the LS I told him I would take it. the colors available were black, hot red and silver. I picked black. I told him I was waiting for the title of my car, to get the check from the insurance. Turns out I didn't receive the title in time, so I went an got financing from my bank. I went in on Friday,signed the paperwork for same price. I was getting an LT. Wednesday the 31st, I went in to pick up the car.. the car is Spark LS with manual windows. It went for bad to worst, first words out of Jeff mouth was ..What you have a problem with manual windows, and Dennis says well what do you what to do?Both of them was very condescending and demeaning. No offer to fix the problem, and Dennis said the incentive ended today. So I was between a rock and hard spot, and they knew it. Jeff comes over and said yes there was some confusion over the LS and LT. I signed paper work for an LT. He said he would make it up to me. He offered to sell me undercoating at biggers cost, and he would negotiate On Star and get me two free months, also sign up for Chevy rewards. Really?? Then Jeff started asking me questions, were do I work, how long have been there, do I own or rent. I told him three times him did not need that information, him said every time, Bigger wanted the information for their files. I looked at his computer and he filling out an credit application, while blatantly lying to me!!! I don't see this can be legal. I take the car because I had to. Then I get an email asking for to take the survey and let everyone know what excellent customer service I received. Then I get a phone call from Dennis, and we get into a yelling match, Dennis denied offering me a LT and always about the LS. I let him know I feel both for them should be fired for lying to me. I see why they don't give you a copy of the paperwork, now it is my word against them. They have lied to me. Sadly my family had purchased four vehicles in 2013/2014 ...Herring and Chipp look it up ... and this is the way they treat loyal customers. Avoid at all costs. Extremely dishonest group. We received a notice that our Equinox had a recall for some parts. We took it in and they managed to find $2500 of other repairs that were "critical" and "urgent." We said thanks and we'd follow up with our mechanic. Which we did and none of the suggested repairs were valid except the brake pads - which won't be needed for 2-3 months and our mechanic quoted half of the price that Biggers quoted. I definitely won't be buying my next Chevy from them. read more

Was not happy with my experience and will choose to go somewhere else from now on. They said they did a leak check and fixed a leak in my car. Next time it rained, still leaking. They said they did a diagnostic check to make sure all systems were running smoothly. They said everything checked out ok. Went to Jiffy lube for an oil change and they said their instruments were reading problems. Biggers took an extra day longer than they said it would take. They didn't call to tell me it was finished. I had a call to find out it was ready When i came to pick up the car from Biggers, they said it was outside waiting with a fresh car wash. Came outside and it looked just as dirty as it was when I dropped it off. No car wash. It looked as if no water had touched the car. Wondered how they could've done a leak test without running water over the car. Got the feeling that they took my money and did absolutely nothing. I would be very careful about trusting these guys. Be very critical of their work or they might try to take advantage of you. That was my experience. read more

Had a bad experience with them early last week. Brought a car in for service, made an early morning appointment. First warning flag, lady taking my service call did not understand what I was bringing the car in for service for. I used basic tech terms, just kept asking if i wanted an Oil change. Second warning flag, i did not get a call back to pick up my car. They straight up forgot to call. The car was only suppose to take 1-2 hours tops for service. They didn't run into issues they just forgot to call me. Third flag, they kept transferring me to different departments while i called to pick up my car. Fourth and final, after finally getting ahold of someone and said that my car would be ready for pickup in 20 min, i get there and i had to wait another 30 min. Before I drove up to Elgin, I called and spoke directly with the finance manager about my situation asking if it was something that could be worked with. He assured me he could and asked me to come in. I was greeted warmly by the general manager, Mike, and the salesman I would be working with, Jose. We discussed what I wanted, took the car for a spin, discussed pricing and rebates and had a deal. The entire team made me feel like a welcome and valued customer through the entire transaction. Mixed feelings about my visit.I lost my key for a 2000 GMC Jimmy and had it towed in. The parts department did a great job. They verified my ownership and cut a new key. Unfortunately it was down hill from there. The car wouldn't start so an assistant service writer tried jumping it with a box and still wouldn't start. So the mechanics took over and got it jumped. Great???? Then came the billing. Instead of billing an hour they billed a half hour. When I inquired with service writer he said they did a full safety, check,checked out the battery system, and charged the battery. The service writer was arrogant in his explanation; therefore I request to talk to his manager and he stated this is how Dealers' bill. Begrudgingly I paid. Later that night the car would't start and after examination the battery cable was loose and after I tightened it the car started. I was billed $80 for a jump. On the bill there was a 10% fee for misc, supplies. The only supply they used was a Bigger Chevrolet Thank You paper floor mat. The safety check, stated the battery cables and connection were good.How hard did they inspect? I would only go to them for warranty work. Watch out for the little ad-dons. Parts depart 5 stars. Service 3 stars, They only jumped the car. Billing 1 star, They reduced bill; But They didn't catch a loose battery cable, after supposedly inspected and the service writer was arrogant . read more

Five years ago I bought my first Malibu from Biggers. It was a really good experience, and over the past five years, I've taken my car there for all my service needs. They did a great job every time, including some items that were out of warranty, but they took care of them. Recently, I went to another Chevy dealer for an "emergency" problem with an ignition switch. It was a terrible experience. I did go to other stores for brakes and tires. Both places tried to sell me replacements for several items in the hundreds of dollars. Each time I went back to Biggers, they told me these items were fine. Last week, I wen t back to Biggers to trade in my Malibu on a new one. This was the best buying experience I've ever had. They gave me a terrific price for my new car, and a generous trade-in to boot. My salesman was friendly, not pushy at all, and very honest. Biggers has a customer for life. read more

Made a appointment in the morning to look at a car. They said car was still on the lot. Emailed me 2 hours before the appointment to see if I was coming in still. Get there for the appointment and car was gone. Salesman said car was sold 2 hours before me getting there. Store manager told me it was sold 30 minutes before I arrived and didn't say sorry. At Biggers Chevy, I meet all the managers Jason, Dave and Joe along with Diego Montes and Bob Sherman who all treated me excellent. I am very hard person to please because I give 100% when I work and I expect the same in return. At Jerry Biggers Chevy, all my questions where answered along with Jason going above and beyond what I expected a manager to do. Some of the other dealers I visited treated me as a number and a sale along with never meeting the managers. At biggers I was treated as one of their own. I was there so long that I was even feed dinner. I am glad I found "The Deal" at Biggers plus I am glad to have kept my business at my local dealer! Horrible experience with service guy RON on all occasions. First off I pulled into the garage for a recall and oil change with an unwelcoming feeling. I explained to him this was my last oil change under warranty TWICE. After telling him the second time he took the time to look up my truck and noticing it's a CPO vehicle. His second attempt was to sell me over $700 worth of service. No customer service skills whatsoever. Rejected his services and told him what I came in for. Received the text my truck was ready a few hours later. When I arrived to the service desk I was billed for my oil change and my keys were refused to me without payment and nobody around to help, I insisted to the lady at the desk to call anyone. After about 15 minutes of back and forth explanations a manager was called and I finally received my keys. Absolute FAIL! read more

My husband and I were specifically looking for a GMC Canyon Denali and after a horrible experience at Ziegler in Lincolnwood, we were so happy to have found the same truck at Biggers. I called on Tuesday night and spoke to Joe about the truck and he stated they had it and we scheduled an appointment to test drive for Wednesday. My husband met with Diego Montes and had an amazing experience. Diego was respectful, professional and courteous. I had to work and was unable to see the truck myself but we were able to process all the paperwork over the phone. After work I went to the dealer and met with Diego and signed the paperwork. Went to Biggers Chevy and looked at a 2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited Platinum (VIN 2C4RC1GG0FR553432), and test drove it overnight. Then I check the Vehicle with a code scanner, it had 6 codes(see below). Returned the vehicle and told the sales person about it and he said they would have to get the vehicle into their repair shop. Got a call from the used car manager and he tried to tell me the code don't mean anything (tell Chrysler that) and for the system voltage error they would replace the battery. I informed him that was totally incorrect and maybe he should talk to a Chrysler dealer. Have not heard back. It was also strange the check engine light never came on (I was not going to check under the dash to bother seeing why). I have not been to many dealerships in my life. This was pleasurable. Everyone was helpful, nice to talk to and I didn't have any feelings of pressure that I may have incorrectly associated.
