    Beware!! I was sold a used car that I was told by the salesman that it had been thru 160 point safety inspection. However, the rear window had a film in it that was warped and bubbled, and impaired the drivers vision. I assumed it was a protective film they applied to protect the glass. They NEVER told me it was adhered to the glass! I could not remove it! I had to rake it back for service. I've asked repeatedly for a copy of the 160 point safety inspection, and the service department told me they don't do that. Their inspection report that was handed to me had 39 line items. Nobody at the dealership is able to provide a copy of the report, or even acknowledge if there is one or not?! I was given untruthful information, and now I'm encountering defensively nasty attitudes because they're on the spot and called out in the bs! There is no 160 point safety inspection performed as I was told when I purchased the vehicle because they WILL NOT provide one. And look at the things they DID miss when they did their half assed "inspection"!! See it in the pics!! The evidence is right here!! Lol save your time, frustration, and MONEY and go somewhere REPUTABLE because these guys don't know who's saying what to sell cars and spew incorrect, and untruthful nonsense!! Good luck!

He contacted Cruz to answer my questions (which happens to be his Dad). BOTH David and Cruz made buying my car an easy process. I didn't feel pressured to buy and they gave me some time to speak with my best friend who was with me. When they returned I told them I was ready to purchase a vehicle, they didn't try to upsell me with a million things. They told me about a couple of add ons and I chose to add them but, again, I never felt pressured. As I said previously, David was a fantastic salesman and Cruz was just as fantastic! If you are looking for a new or "new to you" car, I highly recommend going to Elgin CDJR and ask for David!!

I asked multiple times about being covered for corrosion, and I was assured that the Luxe Care XT Protection Plan would cover it. A year later, I noticed corrosion forming on my Jeep. After reviewing my paperwork and calling to verify, I learned that corrosion is not covered under this plan or any extended warranty, and my factory warranty had already expired. This directly contradicted what I was told at the time of purchase. Now I am facing thousands of dollars in potential repairs for something I believed I was protected against. This dealership's finance department, misrepresented a warranty coverage to make a sale... if I knew the truth, I would have purchased a new Jeep instead. While these complaints may not go anywhere, I wanted to warn other first-time buyers like myself: Do your research, Review the full warranty coverage, and be cautious with how this dealership presents its protection plans.... especially the so-called "corrosion warranty" under the Luxe Care XT Protection Plan.

    Transported 7 vehicles for this dealer almost a year ago now from Florida and they STILL have NOT…read morepaid their bill of $4500. Lie upon lie upon lie from Luis. I left a bad review, and they told me if I took down the bad review I would get paid and here we are, not paid and lied too again. It has become pretty comical at this point that a business owner or manager could be this big of a dirtbag! Looking at the reviews for this dealer sitting at 2.5 stars speaks for itself, I think! Blamed me for not catching it because I test drove it and want us to bring it and spend more money to fix a bad truck they sold us. LOL what a joke. We are currently filing a consumer complaint with Illinois Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. Just because a car is sold as is does NOT eliminate the dealership's legal obligation to disclose known or reasonably discoverable defects at the time of sale. This dealership knew it had a bad transmission. Of course they will pretend like they didnt. SCAM COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     I had an extremely disappointing experience with the service department at Hopkins Ford, and I feel…read morecompelled to share what happened. On 04/20, I dropped off my Ford F-150 pickup truck due to an ongoing issue with a faulty electrical system when connecting a trailer (Ford recall number 26C10, NHTSA Campaign 26V104). This was not the first time I reported this problem to Hopkins Ford--on previous visits, I was told the issue had been fixed, yet it continued to occur. To demonstrate the problem clearly, I brought both my truck and trailer in. Service advisor Daniel Gonzalez (8127) told me they would inspect the vehicle and determine if the repair was covered under Ford's warranty, and that I would not be charged if it was. I agreed and left my truck. By 04/22, I had to return to pick up my trailer because I needed it for work. At that point, there had been no communication or updates, and the issue still had not been resolved. On 04/23, after three days of my truck sitting there, I called demanding an update. I was told by service manager Tom Territo over the phone that my truck was ready, the repairs were covered under warranty, and that I would only need to pay for an oil change. Due to my work schedule, I went to the dealership on 04/24. When I arrived, Daniel Gonzalez informed me that my total was $284.21. He explained that $200 of that was for a diagnostic on my trailer--something I never authorized. I made it clear that I only agreed to the oil change and refused to pay for an unapproved diagnostic. Despite this, Daniel told me they would not release my truck unless I paid the full amount. At that point, I contacted local law enforcement to document the situation. On 04/25, I returned to Hopkins Ford because I needed my vehicle for daily responsibilities and had no other option. Daniel then informed me that, due to me calling law enforcement, service manager Tom Territo required that I pay in cash only--even though I was ready to pay with a credit card. When I asked if this was standard policy, Daniel said no, it was specifically because of the incident. I paid the full $284.21 in cash under protest, and to make matters worse, Daniel refused to provide a receipt showing that I paid in cash. This level of unprofessionalism, lack of communication, and questionable behavior is completely unacceptable. I trusted Hopkins Ford with my vehicle multiple times, only to be repeatedly told an issue was fixed when it was not. Then, I was charged for services I did not authorize, denied reasonable payment options, and treated unfairly for trying to document the situation. Hopkins Ford lost a loyal customer over what appears to be a few extra dollars and poor service practices. I love my F-150, but this experience has made me seriously consider switching brands just to avoid dealing with this dealership again. Ford Motor Company should take a closer look at the practices at this dealership, as no customer should have to go through an experience like this.
