Thank you to Mr. Bob at Toyota for giving my 21‑year‑old son the best first car‑buying experience. Bob was patient, transparent, and truly cared about helping him make an informed decision. He let him test drive three cars, explained all the features, and provided real payment comparisons based on realistic credit and down‑payment options. We checked Honda afterward, and the experience was night and day. No transparency, no breakdowns -- just three random payment numbers on a sheet and pressure to choose one. Fees were inflated by more than $6K, and the salesman didn't even know what a bill of sale was. Bob earned our trust immediately. He spoke our language, understood why we wanted comparables, and even taught my son how to read and understand the numbers. Highly recommend Bob. Honest, knowledgeable, and truly customer‑focused. read more

My recent service visit was poor. Up until now, my service needs there were very good, but went downhill rapidly with this recent visit. What I was quoted for labor over the phone became 50% more on appointment arrival. When I drove into the service bay and mentioned my appointment, a group of them huddled separately followed by an examination under the hood. Never had that happen on service arrival. The whole scene made me feel uncomfortable. Then the announcement of the surprise increase in cost. I declined and promptly made an appointment with Oakbrook Toyota, who quoted me the normal charge (and guaranteed it) exactly over the phone. EDIT: I reached out with a message describing the issue in more detail (per representative reply, below). Never got a response. read more

I went there to look at a used car I found on their website. The staff was very friendly and did use pressure tactics. I took the car for a test drive and ultimately purchased it. It took three visits to get a windshield wiper blade replaced correctly. Driving home from my third visit. I noticed the hood of my truck rattling and flew open on my way home because it wasn't closed properly. These were all major safety issues that should've been checked before they turned the vehicle back over to me. A conversation with the manager Sean ended in him telling me maybe I have something wrong with the latch on the hood of my truck. read more

Avoid getting service here at all costs, complete ripoff. They had a bulletin posted of service quotas visible in the service dept and care more about the quota than customer satisfaction. Kristin was the service writer ask for anyone else if you have to do business here. They held my car hostage for a random of more than $1200 for keys to plug into a computer and less than 2 hours of total service time. Total ripoff will never go back. Be very careful if you are considering purchasing a new Sienna equipped with rear entertainment. If you do not have a digital rear view mirror, the TV blocks the ENTIRE rear view. The tv actually has a warning message that tells you not to use the TV if it blocks your view! St. Charles Toyota and Toyota Corporation does not not care at all. Side notes: don't expect the wireless charger to work. The front sensors also go out almost immediately when the snow begins to fall. I think it has something to do with the honeycomb grill and the snow accumulates super fast inside of it. read more

Just purchased a car at St Charles Toyota. Love the no pressure atmosphere from the initial visit to the purchase. Very pleased! I highly recommend to anyone interested in purchasing an automobile. I bought my car brand new from Saint Charles Toyota, and my experience with their service department has been nothing short of frustrating. Not long after purchasing, I noticed the carpet in my car was coming loose. When I brought it in to be fixed, instead of addressing the problem properly, they "fixed" it with zip ties. About a year later, the carpet started ripping badly in the same area, eventually to the point where the entire carpet had to be replaced. Before this major repair, I had asked them multiple times to properly address the issue. Each time, I was told the car was ready, only to find that the problem was still there. On one occasion, I was even handed my car back with the exact same rip I had originally pointed out -- nothing had been done. On top of that, my service notes were passed between so many employees that nobody seemed to know what had actually been worked on. Every time I asked for clarity, I got vague answers or was told "we don't know." This level of disorganization and lack of communication is unacceptable. I even spoke with the service manager directly, telling him how unfortunate it was that I had to come in multiple times just to have the job done correctly -- and how mistreated I felt as a paying customer. His response? "Sorry, I guess we are not the right fix for you guys." That answer alone showed me that they have no real concern for customer satisfaction. To make matters worse, I once brought my car in for a sunroof repair. Instead of fixing the issue, they completely took apart my sunroof, damaged it further, and left it without even cleaning up the mess they created. Once again, zero accountability. What makes all of this even more disappointing is the fact that I specifically purchased a warranty so that issues like this would be covered. Instead, it feels like they dragged out the process and ignored the problems until my warranty expired, leaving me to pay out of pocket. This entire experience has shown me that Saint Charles Toyota prioritizes avoiding responsibility over taking care of their customers. I will not be coming back, and I strongly recommend that anyone looking for honest, reliable service take their business elsewhere. read more

Jessica damn attitude needs to improve we're coming in cash ready to buy a car and she's snobby snappy and flat out just bad attitude then when asked if we could look at a car to test drive she points to the one on the floor like I'm trying to drive somthing am I supposed to drive it off the floor and they never even told me they were driving my car the trade in to there other location to get looked at assumed it was in back poor communication and Jessica is lucky to have a job I wouldn't put up with her attitude at all and like I said cash ready and she was just an asshole I took my car and left never going back read more

I went in to the dealer this past Saturday for a 2024 Highlander hybrid XLE Nightshade and while I did not commit to a deposit then, I reached out to Jessica Del Giudice that late afternoon that I wil go back in to put the deposit down and made an appointment with her for today. Now while I was on my way to the dealer, about 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment, I received a call from this dealer (I believe it was someone else) saying they sold it to someone else, saying it is first come first serve. Like come on, was it not enough that I made an appointment??? If I knew this would happen, I would've just made the appointment yesterday with someone else. If you ask me, what a horrible way to attract customers. What an absolute horrible customer service! I will never consider this location again in the future!! read more

This dealership does not want new customers. Quite literally. I'm serious - The sales team has been instructed to refuse to sell a Toyota Prius to a new customer. You must have bought a car from them before AND service your vehicle there to buy a Toyota Prius from them. A well deserved one-star review for such an absurd decision. How ironic. I can't even post pictures of the place because the gatekeeping trolls stand at the front of the dealership doors preventing new customers from coming in to buy a car at a car dealership. read more

Terrible experience! I reached out to them for a 4Runner that was in stock but before I see it, it was sold. Jasmin Munoz emailed me then we spoke over the phone and agreed to reach out to her within a week for the new allocation. Today I called, they got the 4Runner and I can see it online but she wasn't aware it is coming to them which is fine but then she said they will only sell to customers within 10 miles radius and I am 20 miles from them. Also my glove box was not secure properly after the technician check my cabin filter. Now I understand why the are so fast. This Toyota service department is awful. All I needed was a new light for my Toyota sienna's headlight. These service men opened up the hood of my van and messed with the vvt in the engine. Everyone has always been very nice and the service has been fabulous! We have never had them try to upsell us anything.

Tried to work on a deal here and they would not give me any pricing online. I had to give my email address. Funny thing is Naperville Toyota gave it to me online. I was not even trying to negotiate. I was speaking with Drew Cordt who when I asked if he would ask his boss claimed he was the Online Sales Manager. Funny thing is the website shows him as a product Specialist. I inquired about a car on their website, they said it wasn't delivered yet but I could put down a refundable deposit to have first crack at the car. They send me a quote and I go into the dealership to put down the deposit. I get there they want to value my trade in and go over pricing. Sure, I prepared assuming this would happen. They low balled me on the trade in but said maybe they could do something there when the vehicle I'm putting the deposit on comes in. Next they bring out the price sheet for the car, I try to start negotiation and they say they are a one price dealership they don't negotiate the price, even though the price they emailed me was $1500 less than the price at the dealership. Super shady sending out one price to get you in the door and then raising the price once you are there and won't negotiate. They will not be getting my business now or in the future. read more

There twice for alignment, look like they didn't even touch that. Car still pulling to the right, steering wheel tilted to the left at least 10°. We are so happy with the service we received yesterday from St. Charles Toyota. They were fixing a debacle that Lombard Toyota made. Run do not walk to St. Charles Toyota. Our experience at St. Charles Toyota was exceptional. Kristin was wonderful and the program she uses to keep you updated on your service was so great. I talked to her several times as did my husband. Her simple explanation of policy and service was a plus. We will NEVER go back to Lombard Toyota. Today my husband went to Lombard Toyota to tell them what they did to our car. No apology at all. This and all the other reasons over the past 3 years, we will not go back to them even though they are closer to our home and my work. Thanks Kristin for your personal service, thanks to the service guys for their hard work, and thanks to the managers. We appreciate you all. read more

Inventory of 2020 vehicles was very limited and forces a potential buyer into spending more than budgeted. Was not willing to haggle and kept on stating that salespeople do not earn commission. SO WHAT? If one is not willing to move on price what correlation is that to earning a commission? If you are not willing to move on price that just means your margins are fixed and you aren't willing to move on price. Just say so in the beginning and let my family and I have the rest of our day to shop elsewhere. Also how about not fully loading your vehicles and blaming the weather to raise the sticker price? Global warming has changed the seasons so we are not going to get 1,000 feet of snow in a season. read more

Trying to find a dealership closer than Elgin, I decided to bring my Avalon to St Charles Toyota. There was a special for synthetic oil change, tire rotation and vehicle inspection. I was told it'd be about an hour wait. A few minutes past the wait time, Nicholas went over the mechanic notes. 1) Noticed musty smell when AC first turned on. Recommend clean out / clean out duct work. I laughed that one off. 2)Brake fluid was dirty..:recommended flush and replace. Less than 40k miles on car...I said no! 3) 60% wear left on brakes. Might make it through winter. All depends on my driving habits. If I wore them down 40% in four years...logic would say they might last through winter. When I need brakes, might address fluid cleaning! 4) Air and cabin filter were covered in dust...in the yellow / warning range. Less than 6 months and 6000 miles, they were replaced at different dealership. I called him out on that...said a little dusty, not necessary. 5) Tire tread at 60 % on all four. They neglected to notice the maintenance sticker from Costco on the windshield, tires less than three months old. Still have the brand new nubs. Needless to say...the trust factor between customer and dealer is non existent and I will not return for any kind of work here. The way to build a customer coming back is to be honest. Don't try to up sell to the point where I felt like I avoided being scammed! read more

Update: Had to go back for a big engine issue. Needed injectors. Kudos to the service techs for repairing the car. I got a loaner car for "free". But, on inspecting my bill I discovered the price I'd been quoted included injectors that we're priced higher than their parts website quoted... at $188 10% higher than Toyota MSRP of $171!!! I'd be surprised if it weren't for my previous experience here. As it is I think I'm completely done with Toyota. If you need service here, Make sure to check the cost of each and every part they want to install before signing the work order. It might cost you dearly if you don't. https://parts.stcharlestoyota.net Previous: Michael A. replied to this review. "Sorry to read we could not help you" (Refusing to listen = can't help? Huh. I wish I could give more stars. Jack sold us our Rav4 today and he made it SUPER easy. My wife and I were super pessimistic after getting bait-and-switched at Elgin Toyota and decided to give this place a try. Lucky us, they had the car we wanted on the lot. Jack, our sales agent, was SUPER chill and NEVER did any hard-sell tactics on us. He was honest with us every step along the way. Moreover, I usually dread going into the Finance Office, because that's where they usually start pouring it on with the add-ons, upgrades, and extended 25 year warrantees. Nope, we had the EXACT same experience with him as well. This dealership found a lifelong customer today. read more

I was extremely pleased with our used car purchase experience at St Charles Toyota. Our salesperson was Rick Carlson, and he was superb. We came on a Saturday to test-drive a specific vehicle, and I was impressed. But it wasn't until after we test-drove another car at another dealership a few days later that I realized just how valuable Rick's test drive was. He knew a lot about the car. He answered all of our questions expertly. He spent about thirty minutes with us IN the car. Not four quick right turns around the block like the other dealership. He was also simply a warm person. And did I mention that he knew A LOT about the car? He encouraged us to test everything--gas, brakes, music, navigation, any other feature. He told us everything that we needed to know about the Toyota certification inspection and the remaining warranty on different aspects of the car. Long story short, we chose that car, in large part due to how thoroughly we got to know it during Rick's test-drive. We traded in a car here as well. Rick and the manager Rich were completely transparent about their estimation process, and their number ended up being identical to Carmax's, so obviously we went with the dealer trade-in. On top of everything else, Rick rescued our garage-door opener from our traded-in car seconds before we drove away. We couldn't recommend this guy enough, and I hope that the same can be said for the rest of their staff. read more

So disappointing to adequately schedule an appointment so I don't have to ruin my Saturday. Yet 1.5 hours after my scheduled time, I am still in their waiting lounge... when asking if I can get a loaner so I can go, run errands I was told I had to pay for it... Who is paying for my time? Tells me how much they value me as a consumer and my time! What is the point of accepting an appointment if it means absolutely nothing!!! At least teach your crew what customer service means and have a solution in place if you don't know how to properly plan your service center! When is the last time you went car shopping and it was a great experience? I just purchased a new 2021 Toyota Camry from Brittany at St. Charles Toyota and it was a great experience! St. Charles Toyota offers their best price up front so it's not hours of back and forth. Now you might be thinking, "how good is that price?" Yep, thats exactly what I thought so I shopped around - online & at other dealerships. I went to two other local Toyota dealerships and had the usual experience - hours of negotiations, giving me garbage pricing hoping I hadn't shopped and had to deal with one very rude GM who thought he could bully me into his price. St. Charles Toyota best price (offered to me immediately) on a 2021 Toyota Camry XSE was very competitive. In fact it was better than another local Toyota dealership price on a 2020 Toyota Camry SE (lower model). I will note, the 2020 Camry did have several dealership add ons, which bumped the price up but I found those to be a waste of money anyway. I also want to mention I worked with Brittany's manager (Rob) and Roger in finance, both of whom were also easy to work with. Roger had all the paperwork ready to go, explained everything to me and made the process painless. My experience at St. Charles Toyota was refreshing from start to finish! It was nice to work with a team of people who were easy to work with, didn't give me the run around on pricing and made the experience pleasurable. If you are looking for a new Toyota, I highly recommend Brittany, Rob & Roger at St. Charles Toyota! read more

Emma has been absolutely amazing over the past several months. I moved to the area over the summer and was in the market for the gen 5 Prius. I have been to at least 5 other Toyota dealerships in Illinois and I would never recommend any of them. St Charles Toyota is a gem. St. Charles does NOT markup any of their vehicles, all packages are optional, Emma collected my documents and got me pre-approved for a loan before the Prius even came... I was in at the dealership for about an hour before driving away in my new car- that is how quick and painless my experience was. Other Toyota dealerships had me sit there for over an hour wasting my time just to discuss the possibility of putting a deposit down on a car (ex. said MSRP and I filled out paperwork and then when I was going to put my deposit down, there was suddenly a 3k markup with a required 3k package for more oil changes and windshield protection). Will not even go back to that dealership for service; there is no way someone who has worked at a dealership for 18 years does not know that they mark up their cars-so she was trying to get me excited and hope that I wanted the car bad enough to throw down another 5-6k. Another Toyota dealership stated that they did not markup their cars, so I asked if there was a required package and the women said yes-4k.. so they mark up their cars. Overall, St. Charles was the nicest, most honest, to the point dealership. I never felt like I was being scammed or forced to buy anything extra; they simply told me my options and I said yes or no and we all moved on. I will drive 30 miles to St. Charles for anything I need even though there are at least 4 Toyota dealerships that are closer to me. I cannot say enough good things about St. Charles and I am so thankful for Emma and all of her help; this dealership knows the CORRECT way to gain LIFE LONG customers. read more
