The improved effort was not in noticed and much appreciated. ^^^Update^^^ We are donating our car through a veteran's organization and Global is the company they've selected for the tow pick up. When making arrangements with the veteran's organization they transferred my call to Global to make pick up arrangements which were set for Thursday morning. I was told I would get a call Thursday morning with the time window for the pick up. No contact information or reference name. Flash forward to Thursday morning after calling back the veteran's organization to get Global's information... What utterly unintelligible and disgracefully rude customer interaction. I refrain for the term customer service because it was anything but. My kind explanation and inquiry of a Time window was met with gruff, huffy and inconvenienced tone. When eventually transferred, I received a "What do you want, we'll call you when we're on our way" Ok, thank you do you have an idea how long it will take to... (Cut off) " We'll call you when the driver takes off, maybe in like 10 minutes" Ok, thank you I was looking to...Click. So after doing some googling I find Global is located in Elgin. Roughly an hour and a quarter from my home. No call with word of their departure. Which will put their arrival into the afternoon. So now I scramble to change prior commitments because I dare not call back to try and reschedule. Nor would I want to have to ever interact with this company again. The people are rude, no knowledgeable about what they are doing or what they are selling, no idea if parts are still available or the condition. Just a bunch of amateurs running a shit place in which engines and transmissions are laying around in mud, cars are on top of each other, doors are piled up full of scratches. Not to mention coming from far and they telling you that parts are available and in good condition and when you there they say to you that they are not available. Contacted Global Auto and staff gave me the run around. I ask to speak to Joe, and he denied the issues with the engines. I observed that he has the engines in the open not protected from the elements. I elected to purchase the engine else ware and requested my money back. Joe said no money back just credit. Joe is a Lier and a cheat and should not be trusted. He is selling damaged parts to the public and then does not honor his own policies of giving a refund. I wish I could give NO stars! Very deceitful and rude! Just know that if it doesn't have a working engine transmission catalytic converter and a battery you're not going to get the $350 that they promise you. Who knows what else they might say your car is missing in order to reduce the amount of money they promise you inItially. I guess this one can go to the tow truck driver. He was friendly but I still felt deceived by these people. I told them the whole story of the my 2010 Dodge Journey when I called. That it didn't have a battery or alternator, that it had been sitting in my driveway for about 3 years, and that it possibly needed a relay switch. I asked if they could come get it and they said yes. When I asked how much they would give me for it, I was told $350, but when they picked it up, the tow truck guy lifted it up and said he was checking to see if it had a catalytic converter. He said that it didn't and that instead it had a pipe in place of where it used to be, so the $350 they promised me became $250. When I checked to see if I had anything in the truck, I saw that the battery was still in the trunk. When I let the tow truck guy know that the battery was actually in there he said good, because another $25 would've been deducted for not having the battery. I called the office (admittedly irritated) asking why I wasn't told any of these things beforehand, especially about the $25 when I specifically told them I didn't have a battery, and the guy that I spoke to said he don't know and he didn't know who I spoke to and then I believe that he tried to hang up on me but instead ended up putting me on hold. Im sure he could hear the irritation in my voice, but instead of actually trying to work with me he got an attitude and tried to hang up on me. Would NOT recommend!! read more

I ordered a part from them for $400 They told me it was gonna be ready the next day. I waited two days I asked if the part was Ready and they said it wasn't. It was gonna be ready one hour later. I returned a hour later and they told me the part is not good. They told me they had another part that was the same and they can get it to the next two days. It has now been 2 weeks since the time I paid for the part. I asked for delivery. I was supposed to get it delivered to my shop. I've been waiting for a full week getting told it's gonna be here today at 3 PM. Went to go check if I can just pick it up in person and they're closed even though hours say they're open not a good experience at all. read more

(which i still don't have.) everytime i called up there no one had any clue what was going on. then i got to talk to joe the manager/ owner. at first he seemed helpful, but didn't have any clue about what was going on or that i was supposed to be getting another engine. said his driver was coming back to milwaukee the day i called him. never received another call until i called the next morning to tell me it would then be delivered that day. Picked up a 1jzgte from them last year and was a good motor. Yesterday I picked up a sohc Saturn motor and found that the motor is rusted inside from sitting OUTSIDE. It's not just surface rust. It's deep on the cam lobes. I called and tried to work with them, I really didn't want to believe all the bad reviews and wanted to continue to do business with them. I got the run around. I got ripped off. I was willing to work with them. They just want their quick buck. The warranty doesn't mean anything. I asked for a different head and they "don't have any". Warranty picture attached. Says replacement of defective part or refund by company check if not obtained. Tried scheduling a pick up of a used engine they were offering on eBay. Engine was advertised as having 137k miles, but when I ran a Carfax report on the donor vehicle, it showed the car was salvaged w/249k miles and no history of an engine swap. They acted like it was an honest mistake. If you were getting a heart transplant, how would you feel if you were anticipating a donor heart from a 40 year old but when you woke up you learned it came from an 85 year old? $40 well spent in light of a $1200 engine and $2000 in mechanic time. Buyer beware! Wow - so after posting this, Joe decided to call me on the phone and threaten me with a racist, homophobic rant. AVOID AT ALL COST. Correct - thankfully I did not do business with Global Auto Recycling. After spending $40 to confirm that the engine advertised with 137k miles ACTUALLY has 249k. I even shared the report with Joe at Global and he had no response other than "the odometer said 137k miles," but Carfax says otherwise. I bought an engine from Global Auto Recyling and after installing it on the vehicle the engine never started up, I called global to resort this small issue out. However, they were adamant in letting me know that the engine was working fine beforehand and that it must have been something I did wrong. I made sure to stay respectful and calm as I explain to Global that there was no way I damaged the engine. At this point I did not want to deal with them anymore, so I told them to give me back my money and to take their engine back. It was then explained to me that I would not be able to get my money back for them and that I would only be able to get credit from them. I explained it to them that I did not want that and if I could just get a new used engine instead. I thought we had agreed on that, but it been about 10 days (give or take) after that conversation and I'm still without a refund or a new used engine, and to top it all off I had one salesclerk Joe, was extremely rude, uncooperative, and was threatening me over a mistake his company did. I normally don't take time to write reviews but I felt this experience necessary. I called for a part in the morning and the first guy was great answered all my questions and was polite. Called again later that day too let them know I was on my way and was hung up on tried calling right back and was forwarded to voicemail. I called 20 min later and got another guy who was as bad as the 2nd guy. He was of no help completely rude and acted like I was a problem for telling them what I was told by the first guy in the morning. I don't expect much when dealing with a salvage yard but basic manners and knowing your products is a necessary component of running a good business. We walked out then came back in to ask again of a sign in the office that said if we paid 5 dollars we had free range of the yard, he said no (false advertisement) maybe they should consider taking the sign down. As we walked out we talked to a guy that seemed like the owner asked about the part we needed, he told us he would not sell us the specific part but could sell us the whole box that we really didn't need.
