I rarely use AP Euro outside of my tea times with the Queen of England. Anyhow, the kids at the high school I teach at are awesome as is their auto teacher, and they do all my oil changes and whatnot and save me mucho dinero. So what I do is order the parts I need, and they fix it! This is where CarQuest comes in. I wasn't exactly sure what parts I needed, but I had an idea... something about an idler tension pulley on the a/c belt. Or something like that. Over the phone, Roderick was extremely friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions, ordered a part just in case I decided I needed it, and got me all taken care of by the time I arrived at the store. When I got there he knew exactly what I needed, knew all about my particular vehicle, and gave me suggestions. I bought a belt, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, and oil filter, all for about $70. Whichever parts I didn't wind up needing I returned, no problem. For friendliness and convenience, CarQuest was awesome and I will absolutely use them again. :)

I dropped my car off at the mechanic this morning and they call me back this afternoon and tell me that they are the wrong parts so I had them order the parts for me. What a freakin hassle. I feel like this is done intentionally so you are then forced to buy their parts. I will never shop there again.

He offered if there was anything in the future he could do to help etc to please let him know. The tow truck driver and scheduler were also more communicative and friendly with their follow up calls. The improved effort was not in noticed and much appreciated. ^^^Update^^^ We are donating our car through a veteran's organization and Global is the company they've selected for the tow pick up. When making arrangements with the veteran's organization they transferred my call to Global to make pick up arrangements which were set for Thursday morning. I was told I would get a call Thursday morning with the time window for the pick up. No contact information or reference name. Flash forward to Thursday morning after calling back the veteran's organization to get Global's information... What utterly unintelligible and disgracefully rude customer interaction. I refrain for the term customer service because it was anything but. My kind explanation and inquiry of a Time window was met with gruff, huffy and inconvenienced tone. When eventually transferred, I received a "What do you want, we'll call you when we're on our way" Ok, thank you do you have an idea how long it will take to... (Cut off) " We'll call you when the driver takes off, maybe in like 10 minutes" Ok, thank you I was looking to...Click. So after doing some googling I find Global is located in Elgin. Roughly an hour and a quarter from my home. No call with word of their departure. Which will put their arrival into the afternoon. So now I scramble to change prior commitments because I dare not call back to try and reschedule. Nor would I want to have to ever interact with this company again. If this weren't for charity I would have been beyond done after that first phone interaction.

The lady who answered said the store closed at 5:30p but she gladly looked up my model of car and had the bulb in stock. She said told me I could stop over and pick it up and if I wasn't there by the time she left she'd leave it outside and I could come pay later in the week. Seriously!? That is small town service in the Chicago area, it is rare but I will go out of my way to buy auto parts here forever. Side note, she was still there when I picked it up. And the location is wrong on here, it's west of 59 on NW 14, just past Chase.

Line-X Linings - Roselle, Illinois ... 4 stars: When it comes to spray-in bed liners for pickup…read moretrucks, there are really only two major operators ... Rhino Linings and Line-X Linings. In my last pickup I used Rhino Linings and was happy with the result. For my new pickup I thought I would investigate the market further ... and that is how I got to Line-X Linings. When shopping it is always interesting to see how telephone questions generate interest. Bed linings are somewhat of a fill-in business for most applicators ... they are all franchisees and do the work generally as part of another operation - meaning sometimes they don't pay much attention. So I started calling around on Rhino and Line-X. For three different calls, no one answered the telephone ... all I got was an answering service - this always makes me feel that it is a one-man operation. But for Line-X Linings of Roselle (they just moved here from Bartlett) there was an actual human being who answered the telephone. I called twice, and two different people (Steve and Sam) answered - so I had found a business that did pickup bed linings as more than a sideline. I decided to go with the Roselle operation of Line-X. First of all they asked questions when I called ... they quoted a price but not a general one-price-fits-all number. They asked if I wanted the lining over or under the rails ... which changes they price. They also quoted an out-the-door price that seemed reasonable. So I booked a time slot to have the work done. They produced what they promised and on time. I will update later as to how the lining holds up ... but the Line-X people at Roselle were very good to work with. Recommended thus far.
