Hot Chocolate

This is such a nice grab and go drink shop. They have sodas and infusions that are so customizable. I got a hot chocolate which was good nothing spectacular but hit in a pinch. The worker got everything out quick while working by herself.

This review is based mainly on the dark mocha. My husband will get the drip which he says is just ok. The dark mocha (hot) was AWESOME the first few times I got it. I like dark chocolate and hate overly sweet drinks, so this was perfect. Last time I got it, it was good but had more of a plain chocolate flavor than a "mocha" flavor. Hopefully it was just an off day. The time I got the dark mocha iced though... it just wasn't the same. It way way more bland, as if there weren't enough chocolate/coffee, and too much ice. I will never get it iced again. The baristas are always friendly and considerate. This continues to be my go-to for a hot dark mocha when I'm in the area!

Cute branding and menu, but unfortunately my drink was too sweet and didn't impress me much. I tried the Marionberry mocha but I didn't get much berry and hardly any coffee flavor was present. If you're looking for a total sugar rush then this may be your place, but for me it was just okay.

Great coffee, zero customer service

First time trying big foot Java all the way from Hawaii and all I can say is that, the workers here have ZERO customer service. The lady who helped us, her name's (Mae) was very unprofessional, took our order and she instantly made us feel unwelcomed. She started making our drink and once she saw a friend or relative on the other side of the window she asked a different worker to finish our drink just so she can chat with the person, so we ended up wasting more time waiting for our drink. Workers chat right in-front of you so you hear their whole conversation, 4 workers inside but only 1 person gets to move and makes the drink. I get that bunch of teenagers works at this coffee shop but at least try to be professional! Won't be coming back.

More drinks. Very yummy nevertheless.

Still 5 stars because they've been superb during quarantine. I've been here about 10 times since quarantine started which is quite frequently. For the whole quarantine they have never had 32 ounce sippy cup lids which is inconvenient because they ask you to find your own straw... but sometimes I really just feel like drinking 32 oz and not waiting till I get home to drink. They are stellar with their no contact service. In the middle of the day or around 2pm it takes about 20 minutes to get a drink during this quarantine season. I feel like it is that way until around 8pm or so. At night they're busiest at midnight but that really doesn't compare to the daytime rush.

Hot chocolate.

It's a good coffee place. I usually get the "Ice Creamcicle" blended drink. The girls there are really friendly.

Coffee is good. Much better than Starbucks, imo. Never had any problem with service. Their coffee is kind of pricey.

Pretty cool find if you are ever in the neighborhood!…read more Mountlake Terrace is not a place I frequently visit, but I did because of the convenience with the light rail - it's about a 9-minute walk from the light rail station. The interior has a warm and cozy vibe; I also dig the lighting. There's a good amount and variety of seating. They don't have outlets on the floor at the benches in the center, but there are a few outlets on the walls, so if you need to charge your devices I recommend sitting at the chairs next to the treasure chest (where I'm writing this review lol). Space seems very dog friendly, and there are 2 tables outside where the fur baby pawrents would typically sit with their fur babies. I also saw dog treats at the cashier that dog owners are free to take. I guess if you wanted to eat them you could, but I would judge you. For my drink, I got the Woodsman - opted for iced, large size, and whole milk. The drink was very chai spice-forward, which I loved. The staff member who took my order asked for my name, and later on when I went up to inquire the WiFi password, he addressed me by name - impressive. The owner (?), Heather, also thanked me for coming here after I picked up my drink. Needless to say, super friendly people. I didn't get a pastry or sandwich, but that's the goal for my next visit!

Given this I cannot accurately rate the Woodsman as I got it with almond milk and wasn't a fan. My husband is also in the same boat as me with regards to milk. Please consider adding at least a 2% although skim would be amazing. If you like whole milk/alternatives please give this place a shot!

I don't mind their prices on mixed drinks because of the ingredients and the employee prep time that goes into it, but I feel a little taken advantaged of when drip coffee is almost $5 with tax. In long This is part of my new regular tour of Edmonds coffee spots since I'm down here a time or two a week these days. Ladro has lots of fans and it's easy to see why, even if the smaller mom-and-pop places get higher rates around here. Ladro deserves credit for doing everything right. This is an older strip mall, probably built around the time that phrase was coined. Wide variety of businesses, wonky shapes and angles in the parking lot. Inside, there's the big coffee bar on one side, and tables and chairs over there. They have some merch for sale, including plenty of choices among their own house-roasted beans. Lots of blends, and even a few interesting-looking single-origin bags, too. Not any cheaper than the big premium roasters charge. I'd have to try some of the beans before I could say if that seems justified, but I bet it might be. You can order ahead, but not only did I choose to order manually, I went inside and looked the poor kids in the eye. They all seemed to enjoy each others' company, and their nice work environment translates into a nice ambiance for relaxing with a cup. I ordered chai lattes to go, and they were boiling hot and tasted like they were from a tea bag (not the sugar-bomb concentrate that some places use). I also had a brown butter scone that was great even at room temp. They didn't get overly chatty making the drinks, but they were definitely friendly, and everything was ready quickly. Nice kid clocking off for the day even held the door for me as we went out, given that my hands were full. Honestly, if you didn't know this was a chain (albeit a small, local one), you'd think this place existed simply to caffeinate locals in the neighborhood. Everything about it has that nice neighborly, next-door vibe. They don't have anything quirky about them, really, and that huge pastry case is definitely not filled by on-site bakeries at every location. But it all still FEELS like a friendly spot down the street from home. 2 coffees and a scone were about $20 before tip. Could be better, could be worse. I'd definitely come back.

Fortunately, there was no traffic so it was a 20 min drive easily. However, a lot seemed to have changed from about a year ago? We got popcorn chicken which was $9 for a very tiny plate (like the medium size sampler food container you get at food tasting events) which is a joke of a portion, and the chicken was not even good quality - heavy on the batter. Compared to pictures a year ago, where the portions looked much much larger. They are so stingy on the amount of chicken, that I thought they were giving us a sample to try before they make a real batch lmaooooo. I tried the Kocochi milk tea with creme brulee, boba, jelly, etc. Sounds good on paper, inflation I get it, was expecting $7 but it was $8, plus tax, so it is actually not that competitive of a price anymore now that I think about it. I could get a very good quality boba drink for $7.50+tax elsewhere without all the fancy toppings, but with boba included. I was pretty disappointed with the quality. The boba is so overcooked that it is mushy, and the creme brulee was not thick enough that I have to use a spoon to even be able to get any of it out (instead of being able to drink it from the other side which is what it is supposed to be). I'd avoid this place unless this is a one off but I will need to be redeemed a better experience before recommending this place. There are better options in the area

I tried to revisit once during the holiday season, but the pastry case was cleaned out except for three cookies. I had much better luck stopping in and hanging out onsite (1/8/26). Same welcoming counter person/barista. Better available variety, and I opted for the featured special, 12oz mocha and a pain au chocolat for $9, which was a great value! There were just two others onsite. There were a lot of takeout customers, including regulars, that I observed while onsite at a nearby two top. My mocha was decent, the pain au chocolat was fresh, good flavor and texture, despite being pretty hollow. The photo I took created quite the illusion, looked like it had mass quantities of melty chocolate. Despite the bakery/cafe has an unassuming, now faded yellow exterior and well worn interior, French and Vietnamese inspired Grand Pere Bakery has quite the longevity record and staying power since March 2014.
